I visit Newcastle on business several times of year and the Novotel is my preferred choice for accommodation. I am seldom disappointed and find the staff to be especially efficient and helpful. The room is comfortable, well serviced and soundproof. Breakfast can be disappointing , unless Maria is the chef - she tries very hard to ensure that the food is rotated regularly to ensure freshness.
This hotel is close to the airport. Close to the metro, so city centre is easily accessible. Hotel is completely outdated and decayed. Rooms need complete refurbishment. Not cosy at all. When the hotel is busy, the breakfast is a complete chaos with a lack of waiters/waitresses. Due to the chaotic environment they are stressed and unfriendly towards costumers. Not the brand Novotel worth.
We have stayed at this hotel, when visiting relatives in Newcastle, several times and must say that the bathrooms and hallways are in urgent need of refurbishment. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is of a good quality. Due to the condition of the rooms etc we may look at staying elsewhere on our next visit.
We have stayed their several times, the staff have always been exceptionally helpful. The breakfasts are wonderful value and were always fresh. You might like to compare the room details on their website and their mobile details, they do not quite align.The location is great for the airport.We plan to stay their again.
The hotel has very good facilities and the staff is extremely service minded. The rooms are nice and clean and the sleeping quality is of high standard. The bar has also a good selection however I would prefer a more wide selection of British beers rather than only international
Stayed here overnight before going to the Canary Islands and left the car here whilst away. The hotel was nice enough and the room was clean and sufficient for our family of four. Seemed to lack a bit of atmosphere in the bar area which was a shame, but would recommend a stay under same circumstances as us.
My experience was everything that I expected it to be: the room was clean; the mattresses were superb with great lumbar support; prompt room service; affable and hospitable staff. One slight critique concerns the catering aspect of the hotel; the menu could be structured in a more presentable manner and put on an accessible billboard for reference purposes. Also restaurant staff were hesitant when asked questions about cost of buffet and various combinations of starters and mains.
Stayes here for a training weekend in october. Rooms were fantastic however the same cannot be said for the food. Breakfast was standard. However long waits for food to be stocked. Soggy sandwiches, cold chips and the saddest salad ive ever seen. 3 course meal...turned out to be a buffet. Flavourless and again cold despite only being out for 10 minutes and under hot lights. Soup was just a tin of chopped tomatoes blended, no seasoning, no taste. Thai green curry had zero flavour, fish was grey, chicken barely had any meat on the bone. So a tea of potatoes and bread it was for me. Quiches the following day, depsite being different flavours all tasted the same and were dry as anything! Couldnt say what the tea was like the followig night as i went out and bought my own tea! Wont be returning here again for training weekend!!!
Booked a couple of nights as a return visitor, kids enjoy the swimming , only to be told that swimming pool on our first morning will nit be open to 12. Very disappointed kids. Pool looks very appealing and we were looking forward to swimming n as we had done last night .
This is by far the worst experience i have had with a hotel. I went in holiday and needed a hotel for the end of my holiday as my return flight was after midnight. I paid for a room with 1 week parking and confirmed with the receptionist that i will have a room when returning. At my arrival a man that was doing night shift told me that there was a mistake and no rooms were available. When i told them i had spoken with a receptionist a week ago and she confirmed i had a room and also showed him my confirmation ,he told me that it must have been the Bulgarian lady that created this mix-up and that she was no good so they fired her ( in a week) !!!! So there i was with my partner, at 2am ,tired after the flight, with our luggages in the middle of the lobby with no room available. This man also lied about not receiving our booking from Holiday extras and he also said that no money was received from them , but this was all a lie because i have contacted Holiday extras and they told me that they were charged in full. We had no other option but to take the car and drive 6 hours to our home. In the parking we noticed that the valve head cover (genuine bmw)were missing. They don't guarantee the safety of your car and no cctv are facing the parking so for all I know their staff could've stollen them. We paid over £100 to them for a service we never had the chance to use and that man that was doing the night shift at Novotel Newcastle acted very unprofessional by telling us lie after lie.
