I’m lucky enough to stay here most weeks for at least a night. The hotel itself is an updated Express with everything you would expect from the brand. The location is excellent for pretty much everything in Newcastle. However, what really sets this hotel apart is the staff who are, no matter how busy, fantastic, welcoming, hard working and extremely friendly. A special mention to Kai and Petr on the night shift who do a fantastic job. An excellent hotel is a prime location of a fantastic city!!
Stayed here for 1 night. Parked at the adjoining car park. Quiet night. Comfy Bed. Reasonable breakfast. Shower was a bit of a dribble. That's my only negative. But I will stay again. Lots of eateries takeaways in the near vicinity.
we came from Ymuiden in the Netherlands by Ferry and stayed for 1 night on february 20th 2018. It was a wonderfull experience. Room was perfect, food was splendid and service was very good. from this hotel all points of interest in town can easily be reached by foot. The bus stop from and to the ferry is only 5 minutes walking distance. The hotel is perfectly located in a safe area.
Pretty impressed with the Holiday inn express in Waterloo Square, its minutes from the train station and easy to get too if you are flying into Newcastle. Bright, modern newly built. Staff are friendly and got a quick check-in A number of late bars close by and plenty of places to eat. Stayed two nights and breakfast was good both days. Good value too
Very close to the train station - a great location. Staff extremely friendly and helpful - went above and beyond to help us with printing, restaurant advice etc. Rooms were fine - comfy beds, clean bathroom (although a slightly strange layout). My only issue was the lack of plugs in the room and the breakfast which was extremely average - bread was a bit dry and fruit choice poor. But considering the price, it wasn't too bad.
Stayed here for 5 days and the service was excellent. Staff always willing to help with any issues. Rooms are immaculate and the breakfast choice from hot and cold selection will suit all appetites. The louvain could not be better for access to all central locations on foot, along with great night life on the door step. Overall the standards of this hotel have remained at a constant high level during the visits I have had to Newcastle over the past few years, ideal for families, individuals and groups alike.
The place is fairly centrally located and within walking distance of the city (10-15 mins walk). The rooms were clean, spacious and in good condition. Price was reasonable also considering the location and a reasonably good breakfast. The bar had a limited drinks selection, and could improve on this point. Despite stating there is free parking here, there is none. There is a pay and display multi-story car-park right next door. From early evening to the next morning, this cost us about £8. The biggest flaw I had was one particular staff member. The ladies I met were lovely and pleasant. I did have a problem with the man who checked us in. Don't know his name but he was of stocky build and had a beard/mustache. He wasn't rude, as such, but needs to assess the level of appropriateness in dealing with customers. I was in a party of 4 who werre travelling around the UK by car. He asked us what we were doing in Newcadstle and I told him we were on a roadtrip to which he replied "what are you doing that for?". I was a little taken aback, so I replied "to see the country?". He then retorted "that's a bit of a waste of time, we have all the best pubs in the UK right here in Newcastle"... I didn't know what to say, so I just replied "whatever you think, yes". He didn't make the comments laughing, but rather was deadpan. I figure it was his manner and a kind of dry humour, but we didn't appreciate it. Badly needs a lesson in boundaries and in customer service.
Stayed for a few night with a group of friends and can't really fault it. Clean room, decent shower, fantastic location, good buffet style breakfast, and really friendly and helpful staff. Would happily recommend it. Ideal for a weekend trip or a few nights on business.
We booked this hotel only a few day earlier and got a great deal. The hotel is in the centre with a multi storey next door, parking is free between 5pm-8am. Breakfast was included and there was lots of choice. Staff were really friendly and great with the kids. Would definitely recommend and visit again
Really impressed with this hotel. Staff made us feel very welcome, all staff really pleasent and helpful. Room was lovely and clean. Beds comfy. Good selection for breakfast. Will definitely use this hotel next time we are in Newcastle.
