This hotel was a very pleasant surprise when we arrived. Super quick check in, they text you the password for your door, done! The only complaint I do have is the smell of the rooms. We checked into our room which was in the same building as the laundry. All I could smell was detergent. I have to say that I am very sensitive to cleaning smells and this room was giving me a headache after 15 minutes. I went to reception and the guy behind the desk immediately offered me another room just a short distance away. I still found the smells quite strong in this room as well but not as bad. I don’t use any harsh cleaners or fragranced cleaners at home so maybe it’s just me. Otherwise the room was spotless and comfortable.
Highly recommend, room was comfortable & clean. Loved that the aircon was on and room was lovely when I entered as it was a hot day. Stayed as hubby was in hospital. Loved how close it all is to hospital, shops ect. I’ll be back for sure.
Very disappointed when we arrived to find we we staying in an acquired house on a six land highway at an intersection. The word QUIET should be taken off any promotional material. No way was this 4 star. The pool was very small and no where to relax ..
Perhaps the blue strip lighting over the roof of this hotel should be changed to red. It is impossible to believe that management have no clue what is going on here and judging by other reviews it appears to be a regular problem. The first telltale sign was a regular stream of men visiting a nearby apartment at hourly or half hourly intervals. The regular delivery of fresh towels also indicated what was going on as did the lack of parking spaces and closed curtains in the nearby apartments. The most obvious giveaway was when my Japanese business acquaintance was asked in the parking lot if she worked here, informed she looked better than the lady in number 11 and promptly offered cash to perform adult services! The whole place gave us the creeps and just staying here and using the facilities felt like we needed a good wash when we left the place. I have my suspicions that several rooms were booked out for the sole purpose of providing adult services. As such this place will never receive a second visit.
It was a bit confusing when we arrived as there are several types of accommodation in this convoluted precinct. Parking was good once we knew where to go. The outside appearance of the unit was not very impressive. The inside was good and the place was clean. We expected to stay in one of the brick buildings but found ourselves in modular units at the back. Turned out it was OK. The pool is very small and the photos make it more than it actually is. We had an issue where water was coming into our bathroom (which by the way was huge) from the unit next door. I reported it and was told the maintenance person would be around in ten minutes. After half an hour we left. We found out later that they did go in but we were not given any feedback or told they had been in our unit in our absence. It would have been nice to know. All in all it was a good location as the local shopping centre was across the road with plenty of eating venues. Be warned the university students take over the hotel opposite on Thursday nights so don't plan to eat there. There was no eating available there when we visited anyway. The noise did not come into our unit though, thank goodness. For the money it was good value. The documentation we were given on arrival was a bit out of date as you needed to receive a message regarding the code for the pool etc. and not what was on the sheet.
Jesmond Executive Villas are really nice to stay. Plenty of rooms providing you book well ahead of your date of travel. Although this time we found our room rather small, it was clean. Atmosphere around the premises are good and there is a nice pool to swim in. BBQ area is also good
Stayed there 4 times. Each time the room gets smaller and my reviews drop a star. This time the whole room was just big enough to accommodate the bed. The bathroom was cupboard size. Definitely not good value any more.
Room 51. Seems there a few very similar ones looking at the site map but my 1 Bedroom apartment with spa was clearly a converted garage and not done very well. Lots of wasted space in the bathroom takes away from the small living space which was a kitchenette with a lounge and a cupboard designed to take away the fact it was hiding a brick wall where the garage door used to be. There was no table or chairs, no natural light in the living space, bare brick walls, a front door that didn't properly seal and a shower over the spa which without a door or curtain meant you showered the bathroom. I stayed multiple nights and my colleague stayed one night also in a 1 bedroom apartment with spa but the difference between the two rooms was incredible. If I had that room I would have been writing a positive review. It had a nice little balcony, dual sliding glass doors a nice little living space with a 4 seat table and a more sensible bedroom/bathroom layout. Essentially it could be a nice spot to stay but the room I had soured the experience for me so being hit and miss on the room it's unlikely I would stay again.
The rooms were very clean. We stayed in a studio apartment which was nice but very small. The parking was hard to find as cars were tightly packed in making it difficult to get around. The room was also hard to find as it was located on the back of the building and accessed through a gateway. The room had coffee and tea making facilities but the Jug looked like someone had tried to cook in it. It had food stuck inside it. Overall the room was good. It would be difficult to access if you had mobility issues as you couldn’t park close to the room and the walk to the room was a long one. But I would definitely go back again.
The room is small, but suited my son & I. There was a joining room, so we heard the neighbours none stop through the joining door. Got woken up early as they had a small child. There is parking but not enough spaces. There's a pub across the road & shops as well. It's about a 15minute drive to beach.
