Our family's stay at IHG Newcastle was deeply disappointing. When we requested bottled water for a family member's medical need, the receptionist said none were available, even to buy, suggesting tap water instead. Worse, we then overheard her tell her manager, on an unmuted phone, that "the customer is abusing." We had to personally confront the manager to defend ourselves against this false accusation, reliving the distress. To see a loved one dismissed and then slandered over a health need was unacceptable. It revealed a profound lack of empathy and professionalism. We urge vigilance in staff training. Due to this upsetting experience, our family will avoid this brand.
