Hell on Earth. The temperature when I entered the apartment had to be near 90 degrees. I notified my "SoBeNY Hero" who told me that to cool the apartment to a livable temperature I had to open a window and turn on the A/C, that the temperature of the radiators could not be adjusted. I did that, to little effect. Another SoBeNY person came by for a different reason; he told me he needed a screwdriver to turn down the heat. I assumed he would get one and return, but he never did. So I opened all the windows, allowing the Saturday night noise of 1st Avenue to pour in, but not much cool air. And, in opening the windows, one of the cheap blinds SoBe installed would not lower again. I had the guaranteed no-sleep trifecta: stifling heat, loud noise, bright street lights. I'd have slept better on a park bench. I'd planned to use the apt during the day, but had to evacuate, only returning to attempt to sleep. I asked SoBe to refund some of the high cost of the room. They said they'd be back to me in 48 hours. That was a week ago. Never again.
