We lucked out with this amazing spot off St Charles st. So convenient to the street car yet one block away so quiet and peaceful. Cindee is a wonderful host. So helpful and warm. She is a New Orleans native so she is very knowledgeable about restaurants and activities. And she made the best breakfasts for us. She could easily compete with the best restaurants New Orleans has to offer.
Cindee is very accommodating and very helpful on everything from the check-in to what time to serve breakfast, to information about local attractions and restaurants. This is a pretty, old, nostalgic home that is well kept. The bed was comfortable, and room temp was perfect. The home is conveniently located to St. Charles streetcars, and i liked that it was outside of the NOLA hustle and bustle, but still close enough to get to everything that we wanted to do. Also, we loved that we didn't have to pay for parking like you do at some of the hotels downtown. If i was to stay in NOLA again, this would be on the top of my list of places to stay.
Five minute walk to the St Charles street car line and a bit more to Superior Seafood for .50 cent oysters and 3 dollar local craft beer during happy hour. Nough said! Southern Comfort is located in a very quiet neighborhood where even late night strolls are safe. Cindee is a life long resident and will help you plan your day, whatever you might feel like doing. Inn is spotless and relaxed. We arrived very early(10 am) and Cindee welcomed us at the door with our room ready. Can't say enough about her hospitality.
This was our second time staying at Southern Comfort B&B. It is still excellent. Clean and comfortable, along with sumptuous breakfasts, it’s the only place to stay in New Orleans. Located in the Garden District, it is a short 2 block walk to the St. Charles street tram right into the heart of downtown. Cindee is a fantastic host. Knowledgeable about New Orleans, she has plenty of suggestions about restaurants and goings on in town. This is a superior B&B. We can’t wait to return!
My wife and I stayed here for three nights and had one of the most amazing experience we’ve had at any B & B. Cindee was a wonderful host who did whatever it took, to ensure your stay was a pleasant one. Not only is she an excellent cook who served up exquisite breakfast but provided outstanding recommendations on places to eat and must see tourist attractions. Will definitely be back to NOLA and absolutely seek out this gem of a place to stay again.
We stayed in the Bouligny Room, which had a beautiful rich feel to it. The innkeeper accommodated our last-minute arrival change without a hitch. She asked what we were interested in seeing, provided helpful info, & and took it in stride at our lack of interest in the history side of the Garden district. What a wonderful place to just walk the day away! Thanks for an awesome experience!
Our family took over all the rooms of the Southern Comfort Bed & Breakfast, as we were in New Orleans for a baby shower. It was wonderful to have the place to ourselves and Cindee, the proprietor, made us feel like her home was our home. The rooms are all beautifully decorated and you feel the history of the home with the decor. Cindee made herself available to offer advice about things to do in New Orleans and offer restaurant recommendations. Breakfast each morning was a treat! And Cindee went out of her way to accommodate a family member that needed a gluten-free diet. Ready to stay here again on my next trip!
We enjoyed our stay at Southern Comfort and are looking forward to returning on our next trip to New Orleans. We were very comfortable and the location was perfect for us, Cindee helped orient us to transportation, restaurants, and entertainment. She goes out of her way to prepare delicious breakfasts.
Wonderful New Orleans hospitality and delicious breakfast in a charming and comfortable home. The owner is very personable, and offers great advice on local events and restaurants. Highly recommended.
Cindee is a wonderful host and Southern Comfort is a beautiful and comfortable B&B. If you need advice on what to see and do in NOLA, Cindee is always willing to help point you in the right direction. The B&B has three rooms. My wife and I have stayed in two of the three rooms and prefer the Plantation Room which is the largest and has a comfortable queen bed, sofa, and small side room with a twin bed (good for a couple traveling with a young child). The Plantation Room's bathroom has been updated. It does lack the ambiance of a claw footed tub and an antique china pedestal sink, but that is fine for us as we find claw footed tubs more difficult to get in and out of and pedestal sinks lack counter space on which to place our toiletries. On a nice day, the front porch is a pleasant place to sit and read or just have a conversation with someone. The breakfasts are fabulous and home cooked by Cindee. Her repertoire includes soufflés, "etouffees" with grits and eggs, pancakes, baked French toast, and a number of others she has served to us on our occasional trips to NOLA. We have tried a number of different B&Bs in NOLA but find Southern Comfort to be the best and most enjoyable in which to stay.
