The St Charles trolley is right on the corner ($1.25) exact change . This will take you into the Quarter or the Garden district . Four blocks walking to Magazine street where there is great food and shopping . The resort is clean and well maintained . I loved the pool area and hot tub . Towels were plentiful . The staff was great . We stayed in a studio and felt is was room enough . The bathroom is small . Everything is clean ,well stocked with a fridge , stove , cooking equiptment , plates , glasses etc. The bed was comfortable with nice linen .
This was our second time visiting New Orleans and our second time staying at Avenue Plaza. The atmosphere is so relaxed and transportation is so much easier with the trolley right outside. We felt at home the moment we arrived. I want to give a special acknowledgement to the concierge team. No question went unanswered. Hanah, Tia, Mel you are appreciated. Melanie....thanks for being you...see you next year!
Right on St Charles St, with a streetcar stop right out front, we had a great experience for Memorial Day weekend here. The staff on check in was very helpful, and even gave us a bottle of wine when they found out we were also celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Resort is nice, clean. There's a nice courtyard, a rooftop deck, and a nice pool area. The room was spacious, except I was surprised it had a queen bed, not a king. Also we were on the 12th floor, which is the top floor, and had barely any water pressure...at times during a shower the water would literally stop completely for a minute at a time every couple of minutes. Our original flight home was canceled, so we asked about a late check-out and they gave us til noon, and even watched our luggage after that so we had more time to explore the city before our later flight. If you come for Mardi Gras, this resort is right on the parade route...you can still see the beads in the trees and on electrical lines. Having the streetcar stop in front makes it easy and quick to get just about anywhere you want to go, including Bourbon Street, Downtown, French Market, lakefront, etc.
Poor customer service. Had three different concerns during our Memorial Day weekend stay. One concern was presented 3x’s to different people. No resolution. Bathroom was as small as a cruise ship bathroom. Location of property was convenient. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Customer service was less than desirable in resolving concerns.
I had a one-bedroom suite, 2d floor overlooking the courtyard. Full kitchen, living room area.. Nicely situated at the Garden District. Steps away from Houston's restaurant. The Courtyard is beautiful with a fountain, hot-tub and small pool, cushioned lounges. A real oasis, quiet, uncrowded. Bathroom is small, no tub, limited counter top. Overall I would love to re-visit
We visited here for an anniversary trip. We stay at lots of Wyndham Vacation resort properties. This one is a little different from the newer properties they usually develop from scratch in that this property is an older hotel/apartment that has been changed into a condo-like resort. We stayed in the 1BR suite unit. The kitchen is small and paired down, but who wants to cook in NOLA with so many great restaurants everywhere. Though the overall unit was small, it was adequate for the two of us. The unit had a king size bed which took up most of the bedroom. The bathroom was also very small and didn’t have a tub. The best part of this location is its proximity to the streetcar stop right in front of the building. You are at about a 15 minute ride to the French Quarter from this property. We prefer the Maison DeVille, but this place works if that is already full or if you would prefer the Garden District over the close proximity to the French Quarter. We also successfully avoided any timeshare meetings! That always makes a stay at Wyndham better!
I am staying at this hotel for a few night after having surgery in New Orleans. We wanted a 1-bedroom that was close to the hospital. This place is NOT WORTH IT. The staff is noisy, they are unhelpful, there is no room cleaning, etc. We have to empty our own trash. I need some cleanliness due to surgery, so was hoping to at least have clean sheets put on the bed every day. They will drop us off with new sheets, but that's it. Prior to my surgery we stayed at another hotel nearby (the Drury). I really wish we would have stayed there. So much nicer and such a better value.
Great location. The Garden District is full of history, great mansions, and luscious natural beauty to enjoy any time of the year. Many chic businesses in nearby Magazine Street, and convenient distance to the Audubon Zoo
Avenue Plaza is conveniently located in the Garden District and is directly across from the streetcar stop to The French Quarter. We came to NO and the Avenue Plaza to celebrate my birthday, as I have in the past. Check in did not take very long. We arrived around 1:45 pm and were allowed to check in. I had reserved a one bedroom suite and was given room 803. The room was clean, but a little dated, and the kitchen had all the necessary items. The bathroom was small, but adequate. The bed was more of a double than a queen. Our room overlooked St Charles Street but there was hardly any street noise. We were offered and requested to attend a sales presentation, which we declined. We did receive several annoying early morning phone calls from the sales department during our stay. This is NOT a full service hotel so there is NO daily housekeeping. You can pay a fee for it, but we chose to make our own bed and do our own towel exchange. Just like at home :). We did not use any of the other hotel facilities. As for the Staff, I found MOST of them courteous. Two employees had attitude, but I wont judge a hotel by two angry employees. So, I am a Wyndham property owner and I have stayed at this property on a couple of occasions. I still like staying here and I find this property to be a good value. I would rate this hotel stay as average. In my opinion I was not made to feel welcome or a valued guest.
Enjoyed our stay very much.mu husband and I had no problems with anything there .Best stay vacation we had.Enjoyed be on St Charles Ave . Convenient to everything. Walked to the quarter yo shop and and the evening we would take the street car back to resorts.
