Activities nearby: Vieregge, a tranquil little fishing village, is located directly on the Breetzer Bodden in the northwest of the island of Rügen. It is part of a whole chain of Bodden waters in the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park. Thousands of cranes rest here in autumn and offer a spectacular natural spectacle. The Bodden is an ideal area for all kinds of water sports and is also very popular with anglers. Only a few kilometers away from Vieregge is the Schaabe, a 12 km long spit which, with its fine sand, is one of the most beautiful bathing beaches on Rügen. Opposite Vieregge is the island of Hiddensee, which can be reached by ferry from Schaprode.
