If you're researching hotels in Naxos, don't waste your time, just book this one. My family and I (wife and 2 kids) just returned from a 2 weeks Greece trip. We stayed in Naxos, Santorini (don't recommend with kids) and Athens. This was hands down, the BEST hotel, and ironically was about 80% less than all other hotels. Demitri, the owner, exceeded our expectations. He was super friendly and provided an incredible breakfast - which was included in our stay. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the beach. I usually like to stay on the beach - there's no need to in Naxos. If I were to ever visit Naxos again, I would not hesitate to stay here. WE LOVED IT!!!!
Stayed here in June 2018. We received a warm welcome where the staff offered us a glass of wine and sat down with us to go over a map of the island and useful information for our stay. Hotel is a 3-5 minute walk to the beach and beachfront restaurants. Pool area is lovely and clean. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.
What a great place! Super friendly and welcoming, and a convenient location that’s close to the beach but set off a bit so it’s very quiet at night. The rooms are nice and clean, the breakfast buffet is tasty and the patio/pool area is comfortable to hang out and enjoy during the day or for a drink after dinner. It’s definitely worth considering if you’re planning a trip to the area.
Great location to the beach and restaurants, 2-3 minute walk to the beach and bus stop down the Main Street and 1 minute walk to nearest restaurant. Rooms where large enough for 2 people. Fantastic value for money. Breakfast was not included, however for 7€ you could have breakfast at the hotel but we didn’t mind going out either. Felt very much at home. The family owners where also fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and they always welcomed you with a warm smile. Felt very safe. Would definitely return based on location and service.
We recently stayed at Hotel Dimitra, which is a short walk to Agios Prokopios Beach. Dimitris, the owner, ensured that every detail of our stay was fantastic. We had learned of his hotel as we had stayed across the street at his mother in law's hotel (Agios Prokopios Hotel, 3 years ago - but it was booked this time). We are so happy with how it worked out. We are a couple traveling with a 17 and 19 year old so we had the family apartment, which had two full bedrooms and two full baths, plus balcony and kitchenette. It was the cleanest hotel imaginable. Breakfasts were included and are a veritable feast of fresh breads, eggs, greek yogurt, honey, fruits, pastries, coffee, etc. The pool is clean and lovely with big padded loungers. There is a young kid's pool as well as a small kid's play structure near it. The walk to the beach is 3 minutes, tops, which is great as you are tucked away from the bustle and noise but it's right there when you want it. Dimitris and his nephews are marvelous hosts who speak perfect English (and other languages, too, it appears) and ready to help with recommendations, etc. We stayed in 6-7 hotels in 2+ weeks of travel. All four of us voted this hotel as our top choice of the entire trip. Note that they will have your dirty laundry taken out for a fee...
We stayed here twice during our visits to Naxos. Had a warm welcome from all members of the family. In all, we stayed in 3 different rooms. All were clean and nice, but the family room (number 10) was the nicest we had. All our rooms had a small balcony facing the pool outside. The A/C worked well and showers were effective. The beds varied a bit in quality, but we've had much worse. The one in number 10 is great. There are no noise problems from the street or the pool area, but the doors slam quite loud and may wake you up. Breakfast was ok. Breads, croissants, cakes, fruits and yoghurt. The hotel's biggest asset is the family and their staff. Always smiling and wishing to help you with every little problem. On that level, it is one of the best experiences we have had in any hotel around the world.
We booked a week in Naxos after an activity holiday on the mainland and found the island to be a great place to relax, our choice of hotel was excellent too. Hotel Dimitra is well run and very friendly, we were greeted by proprietor Dimitris on arrival who told us about the island, the resort and facilities nearby along with a complimentary drink. The hotel is clean and neat and tidy, our room was cleaned every day and the bedding changed daily as were the towels. Breakfast was served every day and was a wonderful Greek breakfast with fresh produce and cakes every morning. The hotel is within easy reach of the restaurants and attractions in Agios Prokopios and we always felt like we were coming home when we returned from a day out.
We rarely return to the same place twice, but Dimitra Hotel is the exception! A low key, very warm and genuinely welcoming hotel than this little gem is unlikely to find. No, there is no polished brass, no floor-to-wall mirrors, but there is plenty of genuin "care" where nothing seems to be impossible to Dimitris, the manager. Recently refurbished, everything is spotless bright white or bright blue. When you get tired of the long beach five minutes away (if that ever happens), the hotel offers a small but well maintained pool, with an adjoining bar. In short - highly recommendable!
Three really enjoyable nights at the Dimitar Hotel... wished we had booked longer. Great location next to easily one of the best beaches in Greece (according to the locals... and I wouldn't disagree). Dimitri is a perfect host and greeted us with a drink on arrival and lots of valuable information. Pool is clean and exactly what is required after a day of sight seeing or coming from the beach. Very friendly staff... rooms were clean with incredibly comfy beds. The hotel gas a really nice atmosphere with lots of opportunities for guests to talk and share their adventures. Will certainly book again when we return to Naxos.
When arriving at Dimitra we were warmly welcomed by one of the sons whom introduced us to all we needed to know about the island. This was the start of the full family experience..! Because on top of the fact that this is a hotel with great location (very near the beach and many restaurants - and a small trip with the bus to Naxos town), with small but cozy rooms and a beautiful pool area, it is first and foremost an amazing family that runs it. The grandmother walks around from morning to night, saying hello and smiling at everyone. I was so sad to not be able to talk to her..! The sons help and the father is the "boss" :) The breakfast is truly home-cooked, and a must-eat if you stay here! Only minus are the mattresses (hard!). But it is an important one! Hurting backs are not nice during vacation either.
