Just spent 4 nights in apartment 405 - 2 bedroom/2 bath, and were mostly pleased with the choice (one major flaw, tell you about it in a second.....) PROS: The location. Absolutely perfect for being right where you want to be. Quick 5 minute walk (downhill) to Broadway and all the Honky Tonks and museums that you can imagine...we parked our car in the underground (I would suggest not bringing the Suburban, it is very very tight in the garage...) and walked everywhere during our stay. So great to be able to walk home after a night of music and beers. The apartment was a great size (we were travelling with our three freeloaders aged 24, 22 and 19), and we used the kitchen for breakfasts every day except one (and we spent almost $80 for that one breakfast out as opposed to the $50 in groceries for all the rest combined....). Check in and out was easy with all the info emailed a few days before arrival. The unit was clean and well stocked. CONS: They shut the water off to the building for almost a whole day to make some repairs to the system. We believe that it was a planned event (not an emergency) and yet we weren't told about until two days before the shutdown and we were already staying in the unit. Knowing ahead of time would have made us change our choice of where to stay, which is why we kinda think it was not mentioned until it was too late.....pretty inconvenient and may factor in to our future travel plans when deciding where and with which company to do business.... BUT, having said all that, the apartment was a good choice...don't know what the price difference is but the brand new Stay Alfred building next door at 505 Church St looked spectacular....
First off...apartment (407) was not cleaned at checkin so had to wait an hour and a half. Master bed/ bath is large but second bedroom is awful. Can barely move around the bed so nowhere to put anything. Bed is like a rock. Sliding door had in bedroom had vertical blinds that were broken so spotlights from garage across the street blinded us at night. Had to go out of room to bathroom which was tiny. Whole place needs remodeled. Location is within walking distance of Broadway but that is the only plus.
