Hotel/Premises: The hotel is not newly renovated (reminded me of 80s or early 90s). It is a multistorey building with multiple rooms on each floor. Check-in and check-out was fast and the reception was friendly. Room: The room was of outdated style but clean. It is pretty tiny, but was OK for 2 adults with a suitcase. The room didn’t have microwave or mini fridge but had an electric kettle with free tea. Wi-Fi was good. Had USB plugs. Bathroom: Outdated as well, but clean. It has one of those Japanese-style toilets (with self-washing properties). Also came with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, free tooth brush and hair brush. Location/Public Transportation: Hotel is located right next to Narita railway station (100m). So, if you are not taking advantage of the free shuttle bus to Narita, you can take the train (one stop). The shuttle bus take you to and from Narita. The shuttle bus stops at bus stop 16 by the south wing of arrivals. Very easy to find. Upon exiting to arrivals hall you can find informations machine and look up the location. The shuttle bus drivers have offer great customer service. Sevel-Eleven is located down the street (80 meters) and there are other dining places around.
I knew I had chosen well when I could see the hotel from my arriving JR train. It is close to transport (one train stop from the airport), has restaurants and convenience stores nearby, too. My single room was actually a double and was a little cramped with furniture. It had all the facilities I needed, including fridge. I chose breakfast one morning for 930 yen. There were Japanese and Western choices, but not as extensive as you see at twice the price (as would be expected). The staff understand the air traveler and their timings. You can leave your bags if too early in arriving or too late in departing. They also share an airport shuttle bus with other hotels.
Good location close to everything you need for a short stop over. 24 hour 7-11 across the street with an excellent selection of fresh take away food. At least two floors of smoking rooms that don't smell like smoke when you check in, clean enough just dated.
Narita U-city Hotel located approximate 5-7 min walk from JR Narita Station which made it convenience to move around on foot to the area including Naritasan Temple, walking street with shops also access to Tokyo from Narita by JR or Keisei line. Bus to Aeon shopping mall cost 220 yen one way from Keisei Narita Station. Narita U-city hotel also provided shutter bus to/ from Narita Airport. The hotel is a bit old but very clean and room size is much bigger than normal business hotel. As the hotel also provided smoking rooms as well as non-smoking rooms, please ask for the room you may prefer at check in and all front officers could speak English well.
I arrived quite late, nearly 1 am, and in front of me is a guest with some payment problems with his card. The reception staff still manage to serve me at the same time which I regard as very flexible, contrary to many Japanese elsewhere. I got upgraded to a double room and it was super spacious (compared to double rooms elsewhere), and the stay was very comfortable despite a very brief one. (Would like to stay longer!) Just the television had not been replaced by some newer models (still a flat screen one). Elevator is only available until 12:00 mn (though runs until 1:00 am that day, it was just closed when I come back from convenience store after settling down). They offer a shuttle to the airport but the frequency and journey time were both not very convenient. I took the JR instead at the end.
It's an inexpensive transit hotel. Don't expect anything fancy, and you'll be happy. The rooms are small (but most Japanese hotel rooms are small, unless you want to spend $300/night at a Marriott or Hilton), and it comes w/ a free shuttle. The bed's comfortable, the room's basic but clean. Good for an overnight layover. Lots of convenient stores, drug stores and restaurants within walking distance. Front desk staff spoke good English and was able to communicate well, and provided good service. Recommended.
Great feature of this hotel is the airport pick up, as long as you can be at the bus stop at the right time. Hotel staff were welcoming and helpful but limited in there English. The room was small but as we found out during our trip was average for Japan. Tea making facilities and refrigerator were provided in the room. Walking distance from convenience store and train station
the hotel price is not expensive, airport transfer is free with schedule. hotel allowed us to deposit 22 luggage by opening one room for us to put our luggage during our trip to sapporo after check out. this is free of charge!!! great service ever
I would say this is the perfect hotel for last day in Japan if your airport is Narita NRT. They have a really convenient free shuttle bus to the airport, the room is quite comfortable and they give you any amenities you may need.
We stayed in the hotel for two last nights in Japan, it was perfect. Easy access to JR, we could travel to Tokyo for a day trip. There is a supermarket not far from the hotel - ideal for some last minute shopping, also some combinis. Shuttle bus offers a great service and we had no problem with getting on it even when we didn't book it before. The room is quite nice, bigger than the average budget Japanese hotel.
