My wife and I found ourselves on a tour because of an excellent end-of-season price. We did not have overly high expectations for our accommodation, but the San Antonio turned out to be an outstanding property by any standards. Though a (lovely) 15 minute walk from downtown Mykonos, the hotel provides a regular shuttle bus into town. But the walk down the hill was so scenic, following a trail that winds down toward the sea through whitewashed stone walls, that we never bothered with the bus, walking both ways, day and night. And, if you're in reasonable shape, the climb is not as bad as reported -- we're 70 and enjoyed the exercise. The advantage of the location is that you are up in the hills with panoramic views from your personal balcony out over the harbour and blue Aegean. And prices are lower than for comparable accommodation in town. We found the rooms to be well appointed and designed, and the entire hotel attractive and nicely laid out. The staff was outstanding, and the breakfast, including fresh fruit and made-to-order omelettes, was the best we had on our trip. We also appreciated the recommendation of a local tour guide, Angelos Chrysanthakopoulos, who took us around the island in his personal car, including sites normally well off the regular tourist trail. A seventh generation islander with a fierce love for and commitment to Mykonos, we also learned much about the island's history, culture and current issues.
This hotel was about 10 minutes from the port where our ferry came into from Athens. It uphill from the sea, but you did have a view of it. There were 3 levels of rooms, most of which had balconies. It had a bar in the lobby, a pool and bar/restaurant by the pool. The waiting time for the food was very long, but food was good. Breakfast zerved buffet style in a room on same level as lobby was very good! Someone in our tour group, however, had their passports and money stolen from their safe in their room second day there. After that we made sure we took all valuables items with us and were very concerned. I deliberately marked our closet with the safe in it so I'd know if someone opened it, and someone did! Nothing was taken, but I was very disturbed by this. I was told this was a four star hotel, but i would rate it a 3 star at best. The bathroom had plumbing issues and several other people complained about the same thing. I don't think i come back here again, especially after the theft issue.
Booked to stay here this week 3 months ago. Spoke to the hotel Monday afternoon to request a cot and was told this was done. Travelled to airport night before flight with my wife and baby to get an email from hotel saying that the reservation was not on their systems. Called my agent expedia immediately who called the hotel. Hotel said reservation was cancelled due to seasonal closure...well the day before the hotel were offering me a free transfer from the airport. Unacceptable from any hotel, never mind a 4 star. Ended up cancelling entire holiday as no alternative accommodation found. Told to fly out with baby and hope something could be found. Absolute crazy advice! Wouldn't stay here if it was the last place on earth now.
The room we got was a decent size With a living room and separate bedroom, could probably sleep 5 if needed. The hotel staff was very helpful and had a car delivered to us to rent. The room wasn’t the cleanest. I’d bring my own sheets and pillow. As other stated there is a free shuttle that runs every two hours. I don’t think room service is an option. At least we didn’t have any menu to order off of.
We had a pleasant stay at the San Antonio Summerland Hotel on our trip to Mykonos. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are on the small size, but clean. They have a lovely breakfast buffet with a good variety of hot and cold dishes. There was also a beautiful pool, although there were sixty steps from our room to the pool. It seems there are steps everywhere in Greece! Since the hotel is not close to Mykonos town, there is a free hotel shuttle that runs every two hours. It is the only way into town since there are few taxis. We used the shuttle a lot; it was always on time.
We stayed at San Antonio Summerland 4 nights. We had arrange with the hotel shuttle to pick up us. It was confirmed twice. After 45 min of no show we finally took a taxi and paid 20 Euros!! The room was a little dirty. The worse part was the bathroom, towels, and the pillows they have as headboards!! We thought we will be able to walk to the Mykonos town. It was impossible, there are no side walk, and the road is just dirt and not safe to walk on the street. The hotel free shuttle into Mykonos Town (which leaves every 2 hours) was good. This was the only way into town because of the hotel's location and a small number of taxis on the island. The breakfast buffet was very good and the staff here were very friendly.
We wanted five stars hotel but there was no availability so we booked at San Antonio summerland and the accommodation was as if it is a 5 stars! Very friendly staff excellent service and facilities. I highly recommend it
The shuttle from the ferry to the hotel and from the hotel to city center was VERY helpful and the breakfast buffet was great as well as there were many options available to eat. The pool that they have looked very relaxing however when we went it was very windy and we weren't able to enjoy it much. The hotel room was average but what we really didn't enjoy was that we requested a double room through TripAdvisor and were told they didn't get that request through on their system. They put us in a room that had two single beds and stated that it could be changed out to a double bed when we're out, which seemed a bit odd as I've never heard that done before. We returned from City Centre and our bed wasn't changed yet, we asked about it again and they told us it would be changed within the hour and it still never happened. Normally this would have been fine, however this was the last leg of our honeymoon and we had to sleep in separate beds...
While not in the town centre, this hotel had plenty to offer. Comfortable rooms, beautiful pool and lovely scenery. There is also a bus shuttle service to and from town running every two hours. The pool and bar is a great place to relax and soak up the sun.
I cant believe how terrible, dirty and badly prepared this hotel is! From the moment we stepped inside the room we found the the door of the bathroom was broken ..the towels and the tissues in the room were all humid and dirty..the AIR CONDITIONER was not working well the man had to come and remove what ever was inside to rewash filters since they were extremely disgusting... And after all that when we complained we didn't even get an upgrade as an apology!!!!! i would never ever recommend this to anyone especially if you were a ( honeymooner ) I would pay extra dollars and never stay at such a disappointing hotel as it literally can ruin your entire vacation! P.S the room smelled nasty and humid!
