Small traditional hotel, decoration outdated, a bit too oldish. Located near the Deutsches museum, and not far Isartor subway station. In the back of the hotel, you have rooms overlooking a small garden, quiet, nice view. The room offers a grandma style bedroom, and bathroom, directly out of the 80s. Nevertheless, charming, clean, well maintained. A lift is provide in the hotel. The breakfast is correct, well Preapred, and its area is facing the garden, nice light. Check in was pleasant. Good service. Good price.
The Admiral was nicely located in a quiet area with a great bar/restaurant on the corner to your right as you leave the Admiral and a helpful staff willing to recommend restaurants, make reservations. and give directions. Thank you! The staff were great: very friendly and helpful. The lobby not so great: two men were sleeping in the two upholstered chairs as we arrived! I had accidentally made two reservations here, then corrected the mistake. When we arrived we were told we had two rooms and they could find no evidence that I had cancelled the second room. But later that evening they told me they had found the correction - a big relief. But the decor. Everything was beige, brown, beige, brown and more beige and brown, with terribly inadequate lighting. A young man on the staff found a floor lamp - but with nothing but 40 watt bulbs it would have taken several lamps to make reading a possibility. Breakfast was wonderful, and the two rooms it was served in were an incredible contrast to the guest rooms: welcoming, charming, light. Hard to imagine that the guest rooms were in the same hotel as the breakfast rooms.
Admiral Hotel is a nice clean and well kept hotel. It is about a 15 minute walk from Marienplatz and about a 5-7 minute walk to train station. I travelled in December mainly to see the Christmas Market. It is centrally located in Munich. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fresh clean and gourmet. The lobby also has sweets and snacks available 24 hrs. Hotel Rooms are comfortable and larger than expected given european standards.
We booked the Hotel Admiral with little knowledge except for a couple of reviews from various websites. The hotel is quiet, a great location near the Deutsches Museum, restaurants and shopping. Good location for some Christmas markets and within walking distance of Marionplatz. We found it very convenient. The hotel is clean and had a nice breakfast. Nothing hot, but there was plenty to choose from to satisfy a morning appetite. The hotel could use a freshen up, but everything was very clean and well looked after, especially like the nice hot shower. Staff was great and very accommodating. I lost an earring down a little open hole on the table next to the bed and the staff was more than accommodating to open the table and find the earring. We would stay again.
We’ve just got back from a short trip to the Munich Christmas market and chose to stay here at the Admiral. It is a small, traditional hotel but well situated near Isator station and about 10 minutes’ walk from the main square and Christmas market in Marienplatz. Our room had a bath and shower and a balcony overlooking the garden which would be lovely in warmer weather. There’s a little bar and comfortable lounge, and the desk staff are always willing to serve you a drink even late at night. The complimentary continental breakfast is a bonus; you don’t really need a full English after the size of meal Munich serves up! The staff were helpful and friendly and we really loved this hotel... I hope we can come back!
My daughter and I stayed here three nights after wrapping up a week touring Bavaria. The room was good - nothing to rave about but nothing to criticize either. We didn’t spend too much time here so it didn’t matter much. I liked the shower. Europe sometimes doesn’t have good water pressure or they don’t have a shower curtain - just a half a wall that invariably leaves water on the floor when you’re done. This one had a shower curtain and a good, strong stream of hot water, just what the doctor ordered after walking all day My major complaint was the breakfast. It’s not good. It’s mostly continental with just boiled eggs. If I ran the place, I would spring for a hot plate and fry some eggs or omelettes so you could have something hot for breakfast
I am a guest in Admiral since many years; a small cozy hotel near City Center and Deutsches Museum. Recently (early this year, I presume) it changed ownership and management. No improvement; On the contrary; Breakfast used to be better and more bio oriented; there were fruits in the room; gone; Bathrooms need upgrade; It is still a nice place to go; but could at least become what it was
The photos are misleading: the rooms are dull brown and beige; the light bulbs are 40 watt. Even with three or four lights turned on, it is impossible to read a book, or anything else, with that little light. The staff is great. Breakfast is very good, but I would not stay here again.
Hotel its ok location, room is big, wifi working well well also. Breakfast is bit disapoint yes its "lot" of products but like "real" food its small selections and price when i stay its bit over rated for sure.
We stayed at the Admiral for two nights and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient hotel. Only, a few blocks from the Isartor S bahn and the Viktualmrkt, it was easy to walk everywhere or hop a train to get anywhere in the city. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and although the rooms were a little on the dated side they were clean and well-kept and we enjoyed being able to sit in the lounge and relax after long days walking the city. The included breakfast buffet was amazing and is not to be missed.
