I've stayed at this property several times before this fateful night. I checked in, and the toilet in my room was clogged to over flowing. I spoke to the woman at the front desk, and she moved me across the hall. No problem there initially. Halfway through my evening, my key stopped working. I made 2 trips the length of the hotel, returning each time to get a new key. The 3rd time, the front desk clerk rolled her eyes as she slipped on her shoes and followed behind me to unlock my room. She tried her keycard several times and finally had to use a physical key to open my room. She then informed me that I would have to come to the front desk and have someone let me back into my room if I left. Needless to say, I didn't leave the property and had to cancel my plans. The next morning as I checked out, I informed the front desk clerk of my situation. All he could say was 'I'm sorry, have a good day's. I called corporate from their parking lot and was told that this was unacceptable, and I would be contacted within the week. I have never been so disappointed in a hotel stay experience in my life.
The checkin girl was rude and acted like she could care less or didn’t want to be interrupted with her laundry duties.
My stays at Days Inn has been quite pleasant, prebooking has never been a problem and the all of the stay have been extremely helpful.
The shower was horrible and the water barely came out. The pillows were extremely lumpy. The door had to be slammed in order to latch properly (So sorry to our neighbors). And the blanket was so thin I felt like I should have been warned to bring my own bedding. On a positive, I thought the room was exceptionally clean.
Everything was clean, bathroom was a little rough but clean. Everything looked up to date. The only real negative was there was a strong odor of marijuana in the building while I was checking in.
Looking for a reasonably priced room to attend my 40th college class reunion. Found what I wanted at Days Inn for $50 to $100 per night less.
Days Inn Muncie was quite adequate for the basic no frills hotel stay. Our check-in girl wasn't real thrilled to get up out of her chair and off her phone to wait on us, but she did. She was fairly negative throughout our check-in conversation, although luckily sounded nicer on the phone when I had to call the office. I forgot to ask for another set of towels for our 3rd person, as the room is set up for two, linen-wise.
Our stay at this property was very unfortunate. I can definitely get over the 1970s decor if the rooms were clean. Unfortunately there was hair all over the carpet and pubic hair on the bathroom floor. Breakfast was okay for a free breakfast and I did like having refrigerator, microwave and hair dryer in the room. I just wish it was cleaner and didn't smell of smoke when you walked in.
Windham reservation system made the reservation for the wrong day and billed me as no show. Had to go thru credit card co. to correct. Cost much less as a walk in than the reservation. No problem with hotel but will NEVER use Windham reservations again.
We killed a bug in the sink, another in the bathtub, and another on the nightstand between the beds. YUK!!!
