This Hotel has everything you Need for any Kind of trip. Pool, gym, spa, friendly personnel, great rooms, great Systems for conferences (coffee breaks). The Internet is pretty slow and doesn't have much bandwidth, but this may be a Problem in other Hotels in Germany.
Very nice hotel in the heart of Trier. we appreciated the excellent location (5 minutes walk to the Porta Nigra, excellent food and beverage in the hotel restaurant, nice and competent staff we can only recommend it
We booked two rooms for four adults, all non-smoking rooms. When we arrived the rooms reeked of smoke. One room even still had an ashtray in the room. We asked for non-smoking rooms. The reception told us that these were non-smoking rooms, that there were no vacancies, so we could accept these rooms or go elsewhere at our own cost. We argued our way through 4 levels of lower management until the hotel manager finally magically found us two clean rooms. The worst part of it all was the absolute lack of any sympathy or willingness to find a workable solution until we reached the top manager. What the heck is wrong with this hotel?
This was the first stop of a two week trip with my husband. I wanted to see the Roman sites in Trier, and we both like to visit smaller cities with pedestrian areas. The Park Plaza is well located to accommodate our wishes. As others have noted, it sits right at the edge of the pedestrian area with a parking garage immediately adjacent. We parked at the lower level, which is not connected to the hotel but there were more spaces available and less maneuvering required. We were able to pay for parking at the hotel front desk, which was convenient. The (standard) room was of adequate size; the bathroom a bit small. The tub is deep and narrow (apparently normal for Germany) and we found it to be difficult to get out of. This would be a problem for someone with mobility limitations. The Coyote Cafe and the Irish Pub restaurants are located just outside the hotel. All other restaurants are a few minutes' walk away, in the old town. Depending on how fast you walk, the main tourist sites are 10-20 minutes' walk from the hotel. The hotel did not appear to be full while we were there so parking was not an issue; though I suspect it could be during high season or if the hotel is hosting an event. There was a meeting/dinner for a local business one evening and the restaurant looked completely full due to this event. They also took up several of the parking spaces out front which would normally be used by hotel guests while checking in.
I recently had the pleasure to stay at the Park Plaza in Trier. I must admit I use the Radisson group all the time so can be a little bit biased but in this instance the welcome was very warm. The location is perfect for walking around Trier and seeing all of the great sights it has to offer. Very comfortable luxurious rooms and at an affordable price. I am sure I will return in the near future.
This was my first time at the Park Plaza in Trier and it is a decent, reasonably priced option if you are ever staying in the town. The beds were big and comfortable and service was excellent throughout. My only real complaint would be that the hotel security is quite lax compared to usual standards these days. It was possible for any guest (and therefore non-guests) to take the elevator or stairs to any of the hotel floors without requiring a key pass, and nobody at reception or the front entrance was requesting i.d. or room key passes at any point. Most mid-range and high quality hotels have now upgraded security to ensure this is not possible! I would advise the Park Plaza to do the same asap.
Park Plaza Trier is a very nice hotel, very close to the old center. I had a superior room, which was nice, but not very spacious. It had bathrobes and slippers, to use in the wellness center. It also had an electric kettle, that you had to put on the floor using, because there was the only wall socket available. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast a bit disappointing for a luxury hotel. No freshly made eggs and not a lot of variaty in bread and the assorted fruit seemed mostly apple. It seemed there where hardly enough tables for all the guests to eat, especially if the weather is nog good enough to have breakfast outside on the patio (which is very nice to have your breakfast).
A quick and welcoming check-in, parking in a garage with direct access to the hotel. Great breakfast, all you can wish for and more! Close to everything in Trier. Loved the interior design! An annoying light from the bathroom (glass door!) which reflected in the mirror in the hall and lit up the beds is the only thing stopping me from giving this hotel 5/5. Woke us up every time one of us went to the bathroom. An architectural blooper perhaps. All in all highly recommendable!
I recently had a very pleasant two night stay in this hotel in Trier. The hotel is well appointed ,comfortable and with friendly professional staff. It is well situated in the centre of this very old city and is ideal for exploring the many historic sites.
In the middle of everything, but quiet by night in room. Did not try the food, but the restaurant appeared fancy. Good bar. HC room terrible. A bit to smelly carpets in the hallways. Worth a stay anyway.
