The room is quiet basic. The mosquito screens at the bathroom have great holes and there is no screen at the front windows. Mosquito nets are supplied, but these fit so narrow to the bed that I was still bitten. Unpleasantly considering the high prevalence of malaria in the Comores. The breakfast is very basic and served in a spartan restaurant. This all is compensated by the beautiful garden and sea view and by the helpful and friendly staff. E.g. they helped me to take the table out of the restaurant so I could have my breakfast in the nice garden. There is a good Indian Restaurant less than 100 meter of the hotel.

3 nights stay. Close to the city centre, many eating possibilities in walking distance, however during Ramadan many of them closed even at nights. Very nice garden with big trees. Very friendly staff, they always try to help. Rooms are basic, however clean, moskyto nets and air condition worked well (not sure if in all rooms).

As with many hotels in the Comoros the rooms are basic and the decor is in need of updating. That said the bed was comfortable with clean linen etc so unless you want to "stay" in your room it's more than adequate. The best element of this hotel is the food (which is excellent) and the staff (who are very friendly) Not all rooms have "en-suite" but those that don't have individual (not shared) bathrooms directly across the corridor.

Mozzie net supplied, wifi a bit sketchy, even in the foyer, power goes off often (but that might not be the hotel's fault), en suite, water goes off sometimes but, I suspect that that is related to the power going off). Staff are helpful. Outlook is good, rooms are nice and bright, hotel is reasonably situated - 5 - 6 minutes' walk from bus station/Comore Telecom. I moved up the road (to Le Jardin de la Paix) where I got a better deal. The two hotels are similar in value. No food served at Arcade though.

We stayed here for four nights and it was absolutely fine, a good base. It was a big room and the air-con worked. There was even a man at the desk who spoke English. Good location, and the best restaurant we found in Moroni was the one directly across the road.

we stayed here for 3 nights, first in a cheaper room for 40€ (without AC/TV, but with a fan), then in a room for 60€ (with AC/TV). In both, as is often the case in the Comoros, the running water and electricity were not reliable. There was a large bucket of water to use when the running water didn't work. When there was electricity, the internet connection was quite good. The hotel has a large variety of rooms, spread over several houses. Our rooms were on the first floor of the main building. Our first room was huge and dark, with older-looking furniture and two separate beds but just one net. This was the only free room, possibly the other rooms in the same price category are nicer. The second room had a very large bed with an integrated lockable drawer that one can use as a safe, and a good mosquito net. The room also included a cupboard, desk, two seats around a smaller table, a TV and a fridge. It had a glass front towards the hallway/veranda (with curtains), and otherwise only a window in the bathroom. Breakfast was not included. There is a small restaurant called "Crusty" down where the swimming pool used to be, which is okay. We often went to the restaurant of the "jardin de la paix" instead, which is just up the road, and is excellent. The location is quite good, in walking distance to the volo volo market.

The Hotel is not worth the price they are charging...very old rooms... There were ants on the bed...though staff is friendly...but the hotel is in a dsperate need of rennovation...vegetarian food in restaurent was ok...but still will reccomend to avoid !

stayed here for 10 nights September 2013, the restaurant food is nice but drinks are expensive, it is more like an outside café than a hotel restaurant, the new pool was being constructed which will improve the site. Room was very basic and wifi very slow in the rooms. Not the greatest but, certainly not the worst place to stay

Hotel Les Arcades Moroni - Comoros 8 – 12 July 2008 We’ve been nicely surprised when we booked a room at Hotel Les Arcades which is a large place with a big variety of rooms. It’s got Air Con., Bathroom, telephone, TV, mosquito net and we paid 40 Euros Per night. The hotel is situated in the center of Moroni with near by shops, banks, ATM’s, post office and a lovely restaurant “Les Jardines de la Paix”. We’ve been nicely surprised because Comoros is a remote Island off the East African Coast and we’ve heard lots of horror stories like the one we‘ve just read in your Review Information from California. We have to give to the Comorians some credit and understanding. After all it is not New York or Sydney-Australia where we are coming from. We forgot to mention that the Hotel has Internet and Fax facilities. In Moroni the Internet access is readily available in many places which was also a nice surprise for us. We did travel extensively in Africa and in our opinion hotel “Les Arcades” is not different in standards then similar Hotels in Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia, Zanzibar, etc…. E-mail:
