The property itself could be very nice and the room was huge with a balcony overlooking the water. The downside: near the property they were doing a lot of construction so it was a bit loud and there were construction workers everywhere. Unfortunately we also had a very large cockroach in our room. I understand it is located near the water, but for the price I would think they’d spray regularly enough that they don’t have that problem. Sadly stayed there for my birthday and this kept me up all night. It is located in a good proximity to the restaurants in town, but other than a few places on the waterfront there isn’t much going on in the city. Not the fault of the hotel, just making a note for people considering traveling to this area. If it wasn’t for the cockroach I would have given this place a 4.5.

Disappointing service.

The Hotel itself is very nice, the service this time was terrible. Checked in at 4 and our room had no bedding or towels. We went to eat dinner and came back at 8pm still no bedding or towels, so we went to the desk and were given given the towels and bedding, which we had to make ourselves. We were told we would be comped for the inconvenience, and only had 20 bucks taken off the bill. Very disappointing.

Air conditioning is loud as mentioned by other reviewers, but it does cool well. Construction going on across street which i wish we had been informed about prior to booking. Jack hammering early in the morning.(which is no fault of the hotels but could be noted somewhere). Breakfast portions were adequate for me but my husband got the quiche, which was the size of a muffin.view of water is pretty but will soon be partially blocked by the townhomes they are building.

Loved Our Stay

Loved it! Been a few years since we’ve visited and loved the new updates, the location is great & walkable to pours of food, water views, etc. The room balconies are true balconies (not ledges) and staff was very friendly. Only downside is there wasn’t a vent in the bed area of the new addition rooms so it was a bit warm ok that side. That’s a design choice so not a complaint against staff. Living area side was perfect.

Construction is not pleasant

Love the room and location but the construction out back is awful, it's right in front of the water view so when you're on your balcony that's all you see is dirt and orange fencing and it's very loud very early in the morning. I stayed in July and August for a business trip and the construction was still the same a month later.

Bask in The Bask’s benefits!

Although there is a lot of street noise due to construction in front of the hotel (no fault of theirs) the location and views from The Bask are hard to beat. Dawn, the manager, seems to work day and night and always had a friendly smile and was attentive and professional. The only complaint is that the bathroom configuration is less than optimal given the size of the rest of the suite. One small vanity with minimal counter space seemed odd when other spaces were so large. The bath area could also use more hooks or towel racks and the bedroom needs a little more lighting in our opinion (there were only two bedside lamps, no overheads or additional lights) but in daylight it was fine with the sliding doors. Otherwise everything about the room and hotel was excellent and we enjoyed our visit.
