The property and all the free amenities were great. We had the over water bungalow #91 which looked over the mountains the water can’t beat a better view. The only thing negative about the property was if it rains hard the electricity would cut off. But it is a small beautiful island and a great hotel! I would come back in a heart beat!!

Resort itself beautiful. Rooms nice. 2 small waters, one large water bottle , 2 beers,2 diet cokes & 2 cokes stocked daily. Great coffee machine in room with 4 pods each day. Great air conditioning, comfy beds, relaxing plunge pool, romantic room, rain shower head & clawfoot tub. The beach & pool area never seemed crowded. The BEST SNORKELING EVER from beach. We saw so many fish, blacktip sharks, mantarays & eels. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. The grounds are kept immaculate. I wish there were more options for breakfast. You either had to buy the buffet for $$ each day or do the meal plan. The buffet was incredible but some days you just want sone fruit & a coffee. There were no ala carte options, ever, for breakfast. We couldn’t justify paying $35 for a bowl of cereal. Personally. We only did buffet 2 mornings out of 6. They would have made more $ from us if we couldn’t have gotten what we wanted each day. Many guests that we spoke with felt the same. Our departure was 1:30 but checkout is at 11. They graciously offer you a room to change & get ready. The downside is there is no electricity which means no air conditioning. It was very humid in the room & it would have been nice to charge our phones before the 20 hours of traveling ahead of us. It was uncomfortable getting changed & starting our journey sweaty in the first hour. Overall one of if not the best property & vacations ever.

Amazing beach. Complimentary non-motorized water sports. Easy access to activities. Free parking. Cold air conditioner.

Place is a dump! Water comes into bungalow; right on top of the bed. Everything felt dirty. Nothing has been updated since the day they built it and they could care less of your opinion. SKIP this place!!!

Not friendly st all, not helpful on tours. Just wanted your dollars. Breakfast was just normal, nothing memorable. Asking for a later checkout but was impossible. The check out time us 11.00 and at 10:30 they expect you to be checking out. They offer a shower st the gym if u need to check out later but nothing more, no day room. Some thatched huts roofs were patchy and looked poor. The Intrrnational Continental is where we stayed in Tahiti and wished we stayed there in Moorea.

Beautiful location and excellent amenities. My Bangalore was overbooked but the staff jumped into action and took care of us w the garden suite w pool and a room credit. Was treated very well:)

TRhis hotel is great if you’re going for so-so. It’s worn and tired but the setting is beautiful and the lunch and dinner options are narrow.

Nice rooms on water. Confusion when it comes to booking excursions.

The hotel has a great view of the lagoon and the mountains. It is very clean, and easy access to the lagoon and beach. However, the facility is just in Okay condition. There are not much going on for the evening activities. The choices for the food are limited since there is only two restaurants and one bar (they claim it's another restaurant which only serves crepes). The services at the restaurants are somewhat slow. However, the view is worth visiting.

Moorea's a beautiful place especially for a honeymoon if you have plenty of money to spend. With that being said, we expected a great stay at the most expensive place on the island. Things were good for the first two days and then we started noticing some things were off. Cleaning crew for the bungalows is not up to par. We were there a week and a half and had to call everyday for our room either not being cleaned properly, the towels not being changed out, or them missing our room all together. The Spa was broken the entire time we were there and there was a 2 inch trip hazard directly in front of our bungalow. We also had problems with our toilet and AC not staying very cold even on low temperature settings. The staff at the bar restaurant by the beach is subpar at best. The concierge staff and guides are great the location is perfect but they definitely have things to work on especially for the price and for the fact that it's Hilton Resort. The restaurants get boring after a couple days with very limited menus and expensive pricing. We found out by accident most of the local restaurants offer free shuttle which we utilized every day thereafter. That is another thing in the hotel concierge should mention to guests on arrival. Things are far apart and it's not a place you can walk to anything. The hotel offered us a small credit at the end of our stay which was something but I would much rather have had the 5-star experience that I paid for...

The place is nice!hotel is quite good, but the stuff members were too slow, the service was not "Hilton"standard at all.

Water views and mountain views were very nice but the hotel was runned down. The room was nice inside but the wooden balcony was falling apart. You couldn't lean on it as you might run the risk of falling. The pool and jacuzzi were green and you couldn't see through the water. Thank God the ocean there is amazing and had no need to use the pool.

SOme things were good and some were not so good. Some staff were incompetent but rooms were pretty.

The panoramic overwater bungalow we stayed in was gorgeous and magical, and we especially liked the glass panel on the floor that allowed us to watch the fish swim under us. They lent us free snorkeling gear so we could swim from our private sundeck, which was useful as we didn't bring our own. The staff, however, were so-so. At breakfast, there is a table with water bottles on it next to the buffet. Logic would have it that you could take a bottle to your table like you can at every other 5-star I have stayed at in the world. So I took one to our table and a few minutes later one of the staff said to another right in front of me "They took that water to their table" and then one of them turned to me and said "you have to bring that back or else we will charge you for it." It was weird because here we are at this huge buffet and they are snapping over me about a cheap plastic bottle of water that was on the buffet! The other issue was that when we checked in (albeit early) the lady told us a room would be ready for us at 12 so we sat in the lobby and waited. When the time came around she was not there and when we asked if the room was ready they said it wouldn't be ready until 1. A lot of needless waiting around. Finally, the last day they had this DJ at the pool for the fete de la musique (a French music celebration that happens every June) and he was blaring loud, 1990s Ibiza club music all day. You could hear it everywhere and it was super annoying--we actually had lunch outside of the hotel because of it. I felt sorry for the older people and those who came to relax--it was annoying for us and we are younger and active, so I can only imagine what it would be like for more mature guests. Oh and they try to guilt you into paying a donation to help protect the reef that they built all this development over. It's a petty sum, but it's insulting to charge 4-5k a week and then ask them to help you pay for the reef they destroyed. So the room was amazing and special, the food was bog-standard, some of the staff were not so good (although the woman who checked us out the next day and the pool staff were lovely), and the forced mid-day music was a downer. Next time I’m staying at the Sofitel instead.

This hotel is fanastic for your honeymoon. The over the water bungalow was small, but clean with cutouts in the floor to see fish below. They offer free snorkeling gear, kayaks and paddleboarding. Great snorkeling right off your deck! They also have many other land activities that can be coordinated from the front desk. They only have contracts with certain suppliers, but if you know of a tour in advance they will call and set it up for you. The crepe bar is fantastic for food, with large portions. Main dinning was good, but breakfast buffett was very expensive. It's better to do the a la carte menu unless you do the package that includes free breakfast.

We were at this hotel for our honeymoon. It was just amazing. The best hotel we stayed at in French Polynesia. They really pamper you and treat you really nicely. If that's what you are looking for, this is the place for you. We stayed in a garden bungalow. The bungalows are terrific. Tons of space and you feel more at home. Great private plunge pools which were really nice when you wanted time alone. If we went back, we would definately stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights during our honeymoon. The facility is beautiful and located between two gorgeous bays and a perfect backdrop typical of a volcanic island. Overall, our experience was pleasant. Besides one or two individuals, the hotel staff was excellent and very accommodating. One staff member went out of her way to assist us in re-arranging our shuttle in Papeete once we learned the ferry schedule had changed that week. Our over-water bungalo was absolutely perfect and the free snorkel and kayaking gear was great. The only area of improvement would be the restaurant service and hours of operation. We found the restaurant service to be very slow and some facilities were not open when they were supposed to be. We chose to eat dinner off-site after our reservation was lost and waiting 30 minutes for our drink order.

They upgraded us because the garden rooms were not all updated. We really enjoyed the overwater bungalow... great views.

This is our second trip to Tahiti and second stay at the Moorea Hilton (previously Sheraton). We absolutely love this place. First off... it is Tahiti. Second off, the location of this particular hotel is magical. For as long as you can snorkle, there are shallow waters with fantastic coral all around. Very safe and always exciting. One day we ran into an octopus right at our over water bungalow stairs after an hour of snorkling. We spent another hour watching him change colors and try to sneak away. What a treat. So enough on the location, it is perfect. What is not perfect is the customer service. It is far from bad. In fact it has improved since our visit in 2005. They were very kind when we requested a room - as an fyi, horizon does not mean exactly horizon as we thought we would not be looking at other rooms, but they don't define it that way! So they are never rude, they are simply French and Polynesian combined... exactly what they are and very different from me from the States. I know, some of you may want to sue me for the offense. But, some of you may appreciate my comments. Don't expect 700 dollar a night customer service. Your idea of service is different from people on "island time" and with French influence. By the way I love France... but it can be trying waiting on service in a restaurant. So if you know that going into it, you will not be bothered. It is like this everywhere and the Hilton has good service relative to other hotels. For example, you will often wait a long time (30 minutes) for room service. On 2 occassions, we did not get beach towels and had to call down for room service. I asked for a late check out and was told to call back in the morning, but then she changed her mind and said no - that upset me! We learned that if you tip - which is not expected - you get better service. We tipped 10% and by the end of the trip, breakfast and lunch every day went flawless. When arranging excursions, you only get 1 option for each type of excursion because the concierge gets a take from the company so they really don't HELP... they simply arrange the trip for you. Regarding excursions, we absolutely loved the sting ray motu lunch. We swam with sting rays and black tipped reef sharks. Amazing. Never thought I would be caught dead with sharks. after 1 minute it was like old hat. [...]the lead guide is really educated about the sting rays. He has them all named, and simply loves them and you can actually tell that they love him. He does NOT even feed them. They simply like his interaction and I think sometimes they get a nibble! Our sunset cruise was also really nice. Marie I think was our guides name (male) and he was very nice. One man show and done really well. The boat is not brand new, but Tahiti at sunset, with a nice drink and a catamaran was worth the money for my husband and I. This is an A #1 trip. If you demand the highest quality service - then this is not for you. But, if you get the French Polynesian thing - it is amazing and the Hilton Moorea Resort is in the best location of all for an over water bungalow.
