Quality Inn & Suites P.E. Trudeau Airport

Having stayed here several times when a Travelodge was very disappointed. It is a great location for airport, train or taking public transit downtown if you do not have a car. They run a 24/7 shuttle service to the train and airport. If you go ask for a room in the "newer" section. The older section has extreme heating that the guest cannot control even though there is a thermostat in the room. Even opening the window didn't help. Also rooms have little soundproofing. Strong smell of drugs in the corridor. When I went to the desk to complain of excessive noise at 11:30 pm (as there was no answer to my phone call) the clerk was surly and questioned me as to why I hadn't reported the noise earlier. He said he couldn't change the room since we had used it. We had checked in about 8:30 pm. The next day did get a room change to the newer section where the guest controls the heat/cooling directly on the unit. While it has never been a fancy or luxurious hotel it has deteriorated in recent years.

I booked here having read the reviews, so knew what to expect. Personel was nice and welcoming. Had asked for a back room because of the noisy highway in front but because I arrived early, I was offered to either wait or have a front room, so I opted for the latter. And yes, the highway makes these rooms noisy (also planes). If the fan in the room is on, it helps with the outside noise. Otherwise, bed and room were comfortable. There is a free shuttle from and to the airport, and this was very useful. Also the hotel is 5 minutes from the airport: very convenient when one has to be at 3am at the airport! Breakfast was nice. If there is one thing I did very much dislike, it was the smell of the tap water. Horrible. Smelled like the water was straight out of the river. I didn't even like bathing in that water.

We have stayed one night. Staff was nice and helpful, but room wasn't clean enough and need to be renovated. Breakfast is horrible. Restaurant nearby was good for dinner. It's one hotel I shall never visit again

The airline put me up here so no complaints about the price. Desk staff were super friendly, helpful and polite when I checked in at 9pm. Had an airline voucher for me meal; restaurant closed at 9:30 so I ordered and picked up the food for my room. Glad I wasn't paying for it -- 25$ for a small piece of salmon and a $10 Caesar salad that was just cut up lettuce, bottled dressing thrown on and some cheap tasting Parmesan splashed on top. On the plus side, bed was very comfortable and my room was quiet. Didn't look around much because it was dark and I was tired. Suppose one's impression of this hotel depends which lens you look at it through.

This hotel is okay for a quick overnite stay for morning flight. They provide shuttle to airport. For services, hotel lacks points. Their internet was slow. When asked where was their business centre, I was directed to a locked room which needed a 'special key" to enter. The room was also used as storage for boxes. It was hot and dusty. The 2 computers were outdated and didn't have sound, so I missed out on a Webinar I was planning to attend. I tried again later to use their computers, but was told they were "out of service'. Sleep quality was good. Breakfast was ok, serving a good variety of items. The décor is very sad and lonely-looking here. Needs major renovations for a fresh modern look.

After travelling for over 29 hours returning from Mauritius, I still needed to drive back to Ottawa. My flight got me back into Montreal at 2200 hrs, so I needed a last minute place to crash for the night. I found this hotel on the internet and drove there from the airport. It was very close. I was able to get a room/suite as a walk in. I'm normally a room snob and like higher end hotels but I was only going to be there for a several hours to sleep. I was pleasantly surprised, the suite had two very good flat screen tvs. The room was very dated but it was clean and provided everything I could need (fridge for the beer after long flights and microwave). It was a perfect place at very good price for a short overnight stay! It also came with a buffet breakfast that was perfect!

Had a layover in 12 hour layover in Montreal so opted for a a quick sleep in motel. The hotel was worth way less then what we paid for. It was old and looked like we were in a low income housing neighbourhood. Many updates needed. No plug for tub. Asked for wake up call..didn't get one..no pool..no hot tub..nothing to write home about. And the noise..from the airport..didn't get much sleep as planes flew low overhead.

Older hotel, showing its age. Rates are too high for the location (right on major highway) and quality. Air conditioner too loud, so opened windows (no screens) and listened to traffic all night. Continental breakfast included, but dining area small and congested, and only one person replenishing the food items.

Passing through on our way home to New Brunswick.... we forgot that everyone in the province of Quebec was on vacation at the same time, so we spent close to 2 hours trying to find a room for the night and found this one, not worth the money paid, we ended up paying for a king size suite where the air conditioner that was installed in the room was (mickey moused) into a wooden box inside a wall with aluminum duct tape to create and air duct that goes inside the wall.... WTF!! Building codes probably doesn't even permit this, it ran all night and barely cooled down the room, the down fall to a bad night sleep, it cost over $200 for the night, way over charged, complain the next morning, desk clerk did not seam to care

Due to a cancelled flight that was rebooked for the following day, I had to stay at a hotel near the airport. The options were limited as 4 flights were cancelled at the same time. After making a confirmed booking and receiving a confirmation number, I rang the hotel to request the airport shuttle. I was told that it would be 5 minutes. 30 minutes later I rang again. The person on the front desk could not find my booking and said there was no record of it. I explained that I had talked to someone at the desk 30 minutes previously, given him the booking confirmation number, and requested the shuttle. He continued to say that I had no booking. I continued to say that I did. This was not a pleasant exchange! After repeating my confirmation number numerous times, he said that he had now found my booking and would send the shuttle. He never apologized for his inability to find my booking or for the shuttle that never appeared. The shuttle finally arrived after another 15-20 minutes. All told, by this point it was well over an hour since my initial request for the shuttle and I had been traveling for over 24 hours. When I arrived at the hotel, I explained my frustration to the front desk staff and was told that he had no knowledge of what had gone on as it was someone else who had spoken to me. He said that he would relay my concerns to the manager who would contact me in the morning. Needless to say, I never heard from the manager. As to the condition of the room, the carpets were stained as was one of the armchairs. There was a hair on the wall of the shower and the lightbulbs in two of the lamps, one of which was a bedside lamp, were burned out. The bed, however, was surprisingly comfortable and the bedding was very clean. When I checked out, I again mentioned my dissatisfaction with the front desk the night before, the appalling shuttle service, and the total lack of communication among front desk staff. The woman at the desk said that she would let the manager know. This was a refrain!! Not surprisingly, I never heard from the manager although I was given her card. Booking the shuttle to take me from the hotel back to the airport was, however, uneventful and the shuttle departed the hotel on schedule. I travel a great deal for business and pleasure and will do my utmost never to stay at a Quality Inn. In short, "quality" is a misnomer. --Disgruntled
