We waited 30 minutes to check in with only 2 people in front of us. We finally get in the room after a long drive and the room is filled with roaches. We also found out there is no breakfast offered, probably because of the roaches. We knew we couldn’t get our money back due to it being through a 3rd party so we just grabbed the clothes we needed for the next day to keep the roaches out of our luggage and slept with the lights on so they didn't crawl in the bed. We contemplated sleeping in the car at this point but we were too exhausted. Worst night of sleep thinking about the roaches being on me. I will never stay at another Sonesta! This also makes me never want to stay in Montgomery, AL either. We also paid for a suite and couldn’t use any of the items because the roaches were in the refrigerator, the freezer, in the stove and in every cabinet and drawer, and in the bathroom. Even the dressers were crawling with them.

The room was very outdated. The carpet was dirty and smelled. The bathroom smelled of water damage. The shower didn't have a shower curtain. There were holes in the ceiling that had bad repair work. Also, people smoked outside my door the entire time causing cigarette smoke to enter my room.

My family and I stayed at Sonesta ES Suites Montgomery and had one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The only positives were the full kitchen and the amount of space for our four kids, plus the fact that there were plenty of food options nearby. Unfortunately, everything else made the stay unacceptable. The moment we walked into the room, we were hit with a strong cigarette smell. We went out and bought multiple bottles of Febreze to spray the furniture and drapes, and it didn’t help at all. After flying home, all of our clothes still smelled like cigarettes. We had a baby with us, and she kept coughing from the smell. It was so bad that we ended up staying somewhere else for the rest of our trip. On top of that, the condition of the room was alarming: A large crack in the glass sliding door/mirror A broken iron Trash left inside the dishwasher A dirty oven that started smoking the moment I turned it on (we couldn’t even bake a frozen pizza for the kids) A dirty couch and furniture that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time The staff wasn’t helpful either. One worker knocked on our door to tell us our kids were loud, but when I asked her for more towels, she said they were only servicing rooms for people checking out. Everything smelled like cigarettes, everything felt dirty, and the room was in no condition for a family—especially with a baby. We’re now rewashing all of our clothes multiple times because the smell stuck to everything.

The rooms were a nice size abs the bed were really comfy, but when i had to go but roach sprayfor my room 224 abs my friend room in 712 that was a bit too much. Family and friends stoped by both our rooms to visit and there roaches crawling on the tv, the floor, kitchen, and bathroom was embarrassing
