We held our wedding at the Woughton House on 7th October, and cannot fault the service and support from Gareth and his team, they worked tirelessly on the day, our guests complimented us on the venue, service and lovely food, it was as it should be given the price we paid. Sadly the reception staff let us down; from the outset, ourselves and staying guests found them difficult to deal with. When we viewed the venue we were shown a lovely, large suite with four poster bed, (the same one they show on their wedding open days) which we were led to believe would be our room for the night of our wedding, however on the actual day, we allocated a much smaller suite and the room we had been promised had been given to someone else, this made us feel somewhat undervalued and upset, we expected a special room on our special day but by this time it was too late to do anything about it. In addition to this, two weeks prior to the wedding we asked for a ground floor room for my father, who was in a wheelchair and definitely could not manage stairs, the hotel confirmed that this could be done both verbally and by email, yet on the day they put a disabled man on the first floor, in a hotel with no lift, then to add insult to injury kept his wife waiting on reception for over half and hour while they tried to sort it out. I raised both these points the Monday after the wedding yet no explanation was offered up. Had Woughton House delivered the rooms they had led us to believe were available we would have had a perfect day and they would have been awarded 5 stars.

Went for an early evening meal here today. The hotel has undergone recent refurbishment and the reception rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, as is the restaurant itself. The food and service was excellent and we enjoyed an unhurried, relaxing meal. Haven't had the opportunity to see the rest of the hotel but, based on what we did see and experience, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Woughton House and look forward to visiting again soon.

I stayed there for a national car club conference with a large number of delegates and personally was more impressed than on a previous occasion, since my previous visits the staff had changed at least those I met and were attentive without being intrusive. For what a conference needs it is a good venue for other visitors it's a few miles from the more interesting parts of the Cotswolds.

The Woughton House Hotel is beautiful. Fully of luxury / generous touches for a hotel which is essentially surrounded by fields (but close enough to the city for a theatre stay etc). The stay are very attentive and the quality of the food is great! Would definitely go back

This could be a great hotel but currently falls significantly short. The bedroom had a good quality feel with a very comfy bed. The toiletries were from the White Company although frustrating there was no hot water for washing at 07:15. Once you enter the restaurant things start to go wrong. Although the restaurant was not busy all that had been delivered after an hour was some bread and oil. The food when it arrived was well cooked although consisted of small portions. The confusion in the dining room continued at breakfast. No explanation of the process, buffet style, we were left to discover for ourselves. It is unacceptable to have to ask for tea and coffee, dishes, glasses for fruit juice and spread for toast.

I stayed here on the 2/3 Nov for a business trip with my boss, the hotel is beautiful, the staff friendly and attentive, the rooms and decor are fabulous.....i cannot actually find any fault with it apart from the mini bottles of shampoo and shower gel are impossible to open unless you are as strong as The Rock ;) the breakfast is really good, massive selection totally spoilt for choice! I would definately stay again without hesitation

We took advantage of a groupon deal for afternoon tea for two with a glass of champagne each, we booked on a Friday morning and were offered a 330pm slot that day, which we thought was good service. The sat nav had difficulties finding the place, so for any people new to the venue, please note it is directly next to the church. There was a wedding reception in situ when we arrived so we picked our way through the photographers and guests to reception to be met with a rather brusque gentlemen who seemed to have difficulty finding our booking so he directed us to the restaurant reception, here we were met by an efficient lady who confirmed our booking and directed us to a table in the very elegant Restaurant. the service was efficient as opposed to friendly but it was not over bearing like some other places we have visited. The selection of teas was good and the food was also of a nice selection and standard, and nice to see that my wife (who is not a tea drinker) was offered a soft drink at no extra charge. The big downer however was that given this was a Friday afternoon we were told this high class venue HAD NO CHAMPAGNE left, so the venue were substituting our 'paid for' champagne with prossecco, which I thought very naughty and something for others to note.

This was a last minute booking for us, stuck in traffic on the M1 and looking forward for some nice food, some respite and relaxation and to recharge - and that’s exactly what we found at this hotel. Delightful receptionist, good room service (really good club sandwich!), big and comfortable bed and a good, hot buffet breakfast the next morning. Was just what the doctor ordered!

The wedding celebration of my one and only daughters wedding on the 28th October was something we will always remember. The hotel facilities are really good and the whole day was fantastic not forgetting the staff who were superb from first till last.

staff really let down this lovely building. I stayed here for my brothers wedding and was very disappointed with the attitude of main front line staff. The only staff member that i would give any credit to was the maid who was polite and happy and appeared that even the smallest of things were not too much trouble. I would go as far to say that some of the staff were actually rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't stay here again.
