In an expensive city, this hotel is reasonably-priced, but as a result, is a little distance away from the centre, outside of the main tourist areas. However it's only a ten minute taxi from the Central Station and all the sites are easily accessible by the metro from the nearby Loreto station. Although located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, there are several good quality restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel itself is a little dated and in need of a few upgrades and repairs. Our room was a good size, but the facilities were a little dated. The toilet seat was broken as was the shower door, and the shower itself was very small with hardly room to move in. The breakfast was fine with a decent continental selection and the staff were polite and helpful.
The room was quite small but OK. The bathroom does not look clean because of black mould behinde silicone in the shower cabin. Outside air conditioning unit was very noisy, so it was hard to sleep with window open and we needed to use ear plugs. Breakfast was fine, variety of choices. Hotel has a good position near metro station Loreto and it is not far from railway station Lambrate.
I got a tremendous deal for this three-star hotel and was concerned there would be a reason for that. There wasn't. This is a standard three-star with clean rooms, air-con and a decent three-star breakfast. The hotel is not exactly central but it is within a quick walk of Loreto subway station and a slightly longer one to the historic Tram No 1 - the best way to get in to Milan if you want to see the city.
The Hooper-Nash clan spent a day in Milan, A wonderful shopping City, even for your nan! A short night's stay on our Italian trip, We wanted something central yet cheap for our 1 nights kip, Hotel Florence was chosen by us, Close to the centre, although should have taken a bus, The staff were friendly, the hotel clean, The quality of the breakfast was a surprise unforeseen! A great selection of coffee, meats, cheeses and cereal, Our bellies were oh so full after our days' first meal! All-in-all a hotel to recommend, For our budget traveller friend, Perfect for spending a few days on your Milano tour, Our only request is that they improve the elevator! Many thanks to the Hotel Florence team, It was a great start on our Italian holiday dream! Next stop, Verona....
Hotel Florence is a very pretty hotel. It is a small, quiet hotel. The rooms are not very big, but there is enough place for you and your luggage. The bathroom and the room are very clean. They change the towels every day and they clean the room every day( there are some little remarks about the walls and the ceiling in the bathroom, but as whole it is ok). The breakfast is very good, there are different cheeses, croissants, breads, cakes, juices and etc., it is a buffet breakfast. You can order espresso coffee and you do not pay additionally for it, it is included in the breakfast. The staff is very kind, they ordered a taxi for us and they prepared a breakfast box for us because we left the hotel at 5 a.m. The hotel is very close to a station Loreto (about 3-4 minutes walking) . It is close to street Buenos Aires ( shopping street ). There are some local restaurants near to the hotel and if you are tired you can have a dinner there. There is a grocery shop between the hotel and the station Loreto - Carfour Express. The central station is very close to the hotel(1.5 km), as well. If I go to Milan again, I will choose this hotel again 😊.
We stayed here overnight on a recent trip to Milan, as we headed to Barcelona. The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood and near to the central railway station. Our room was comfortable, neat and tidy and the staff were attentive to our needs. Breakfast was typical of Italian buffet and there was enough variety to cater for the needs of most people. The Hotel Florence was great for our needs on this trip.
It was our first time visiting Milan so our choice of hotel was based on the positive reviews found here. The hotel itself is not the most centrally located but it is close to a metro station that can take you directly to the Duomo, even though it's also possible to walk which will take you about 30 minutes. The hotel is in a quiet and nice area with good possibilities to find something to eat. Also, the gelato shop right across the street is recommendable! The staff at the hotel was nice and friendly and always ready to assist you in your needs. The building itself is kept nicely with nice rooms, even though the bathroom was a bit outdated - especially flushing the toilet was a challenge first time. When it comes to the breakfast, there is a large variety of cakes as is often seen in southwestern Europe but there is also offered different types of meats and cheeses. If you want their bacon you must be early since it seems like they only fill up a few times. Overall, it is a recommendable hotel for a short stay in Milan, just keep in mind that you will need some transportation to get to the centre of Milan.
I stayed from May 15th-26th and had room 132 and was happy with it because it had a balcony facing the park and some beautiful buildings so I was able to sketch. The location is near to the central train station and I was able to walk everywhere I needed to go. Breakfast was very satisfying with a large variety of items from which to choose. I liked the friendliness of the staff and appreciated the map and directions provided. I must mention that I had a problem with the stopper in the face basin that got stuck and a few minutes after I reported it Alex came up and fixed it. Thanks Alex. A minor problem is the wifi that I couldn't use in my room so I had to use it in the lobby but like I said, minor problem. I will definitely stay here again when in Milan. Thanks everybody for making my stay enjoyable. Beverly S
Located near the center of the Milan, this hotel turned out to be a three star. The Metro (subway was within walking distance, making our trips to the Duomo real easy. The main reason we enjoyed our stay was Alex at the counter. From the day of our arrival to our departure date, Alex tended to our needs in every way possible. Always very helpfull, smiling and pleasant to talk to. Thank you Alex for making our stay a pleasant one.
We stayed here for almost a week, the room was nice and clean, the bathroom a little small, but it was functional. The head of the shower could have probably done with some de-scaling and my husband commented someone should go around with a multi screwdriver to just tighten up some things, the door handle had loosened and the metal bracket for the glass on top of the bed side table was loose but easily fixable. The breakfast was alright, a little of everything and you could order a cappuccino from the bar for free (if breakfast included) you did have to hand in your room key if you left the premises, which at first seemed daunting leaving all our stuff open to intruders, but actually the hotel is nice enough that our fears were quickly quashed. Nothing was taken and the rooms were kept cleaned through out visit. Not bad if you are on a budget. (only thing I would say is the bar which we though said 24hrs, doesn't seem to be manned and we waited 10 minutes for a coffee one afternoon and gave up).
