This family-run 3-star hotel is in a quiet residential area 20 minutes walk, mostly on the flat, to the Duomo, along the main street. We had an excellent double room near the top of the hotel with full view over the sea and gorgeous sunrise, and partial view of the excellent pool. The staff speak plenty of English, gave us a thorough briefing on the facilities, and offered three recommendations for food, all of which proved commendable. All the facilities in the room worked well - plenty of hot water, lovely ample balcony with table and chairs. The door double locks but there is no safe. Taormina has a myriad of cafés and restaurants. The hotel only provides breakfast, in a room by the pool, consisting of breads and croissants, some fruit and vegetables, a modest selection of meats and cheese, with coffee and tea. We thought this was a good choice and great value hotel for a few nights, and we will certainly consider returning.
I hate giving a negative review but sadly this hotel deserves it, I'm sure once upon a time it was a lovely three star hotel unfortunately this was probably thirty years ago - the whole place is in dire need of a refurb. For starters the AC doesn't work which in a country like Sicily where the temperatures are extremely high is not something that is going to make your stay very comfortable. In my room the plug sockets were broken and dangerous and the wardrobe also had a broken handle and a door which was ready to fall off. The included breakfast is terrible and unless u get there as breakfast begins you will not get any food as once something has gone it is not replenished. The pool area is ok apart from sticky floors and a few broken sun beds. The only redeeming feature of the hotel is the staff who are very friendly, only a few speak English which can make communication difficult at time so thank god for google translate. The town is about a 10-15 minute walk away or u can literally walk outside the hotel and get the bus which runs fairly regularly and only costs 1 Euro per person. Taxi are a fixed rate and cost about ten euros from the hotel to the town center.
Don't believe their photos; this is at best a one star motel. The A/C didn't work / room was warm and stuffy. We asked for it to be corrected and were told the facility person was fixing the pool ... so it'd be about one hour... in the meantime, no one swimming in pool and although they advertise a pool bar, we def did not see one. The hotel room had no safe or small fridge. We had to ask for Kleenex. The room was sparsely furnished in ugly 1970's furniture one might find in a YMCA furnished room. The last straw was when my husband couldn't find the TV remote ; he went to front desk again and was told; oh we forgot to give to you. What hotel keeps the remote at the front desk?! By this time about an hour had passed and the room was not getting cooler so we grabbed our belongings and checked out. We ended up going to Hotel Isabela and couldn't have been happier w/ all the accommodations. We are seasoned travelers and most often stay in 3/4 star hotels when in Europe. This was sub-par and I hope you won't waste your money. Other reviewers have complained about the quality of the rooms, the paltry breakfast and poor service in general. Others have given good reviews. We gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt due to location and price. Don't make the same mistake we did. There are much higher quality hotels available.
The family that run the hotel is great I will give them 5 stars but the hotel is like a bread & breakfast the room is ancient air conditioning is fine, no restaurant, 15 minutes walk to center of town you do that 2or 3 times a day is tiring ,the view mediocre from my room, the pool is ok, bed unconfotable , pillow very hard also front entrance closes around 10 pm and they buzz you in very annoying overall the hotel is ok for some people but not for me
We have just returned from a week in Sicily where we stayed at the Andromaco Palace Hotel. Rooms were simple but comfortable, and breakfast included different types of ham, tomatoes, boiled eggs, cereals, croissants bread and various jams. The staff could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. A family atmosphere prevails. There is a small parking area which was welcome, as street parking is a challenge here.
The views were the best thing about this hotel, which was quite high up in the town. The terrace outside the bedroom was a great place to relax and enjoy looking at the houses below, especially in the morning sunshine. Otherwise, it was fairly basic, especially the poorly equipped bathroom. The continental breakfast was fine but the wifi was poor. Driving in Taormina was a challenge with its narrow streets but the hotel had a tiny car park, which was essential as the nearby roads were residents only. Sometimes we had to double park and leave the car keys at the reception desk but that worked well.
At first we thaught it's far from the Centrum. But we used to walk that 15 mins to to the first port of the town. It's not so awfull, even nice. You can look the surroundings. The pool is small, but quite nice. The hotel maybe has had it's best days before, but it's quite OK even now. And it's clean. I hope they've got the dog in the neighbour silent.
This hotel has great view of the ocean and coast, it only takes about a 10-15min walk to reach the centre of town , our triple room had a huge balcony to sit out and chill during the nights and mornings
Great hotel for stay in Taormina. Informal atmosphere very clean rooms (every day) nice pool. 5 min from town centre. Very friendly and helpful staff on reception (often the owner) and at breakfast. Some of the comments on here beggar belief, if we wanted something we just asked and it was sorted there and then. Lots of choice at breakfast, no cooked food but at 28c at 7.30am that wasn't a problem !! Great stay !
A hotel tucked in the hill over looking the town. The hotel was clean and tidy with a pool and patio area. Good range of things for breakfast. Parking outside. A ten mins walk along the coast to the centre.
