I was so excited when my husband informed us we were going to stay at the Langham for a week, sadly they did not meet any 5 star expectations. The hotel advertises itself as 'experience impeccable hospitality', this was far from the truth. We arrived at the hotel quiet late and we greeted coolly by reception who had a rather austere and snooty manner. When we found out our room did not have a river view we asked to up grade our room, (happy to pay the extra) He never got back to us. The rooms are comfortable but I kept bashing my head on the ugly black light on the headboard. House keeping was hit and miss with no turn down service some days, Basic house keeping such as bin being emptied, coffee/tea and water not being replenished. I was asked by the same porter 3 times if I was checking in, even though I said I had been at the hotel for over 3 night and informed him each time, I would like to praise Peter the Concierge who was so helpful when we were planning our trips. And Ryan? who helped us with printing our ticket on the night of the 22nd March. We are returning to Melbourne next year again for the GP but I will be giving this place a wide berth.

Stayed here for a business meeting but this hotel is geared towards tourists , weddings, functions. Rooms are nice and staff are attentive in all areas except the dining room (breakfast). I arrived 7.30am for an all day meeting , left my bag at concierge and they advised it would be left in my room. Finished meeting at 6 with a quick turnaround to join the team for dinner, no bag in room. Breakfast is average with a poor display, selection and service

This was our 4th visit to The Langham and will definitely not be our last. The rooms are spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The quality of service is second to none and the very best we have experienced in Melbourne.

Perfect 5* hotel stay in Melbourne's Southbank precinct perfectly combining the best of room accommodation, pre-dinner /theatre lounge drinks with friends, Melbournes best international buffet dinner & breakfast and in-house leisure facilities.

Our favourite Melbourne hotel with five star luxury. We like being based right on the river, but still close enough for any easy walk over the bridge to downtown. My wife loves the swimming pool and spa and the bars and restaurants are all very appealing with plenty of choice. Staff are friendly and attentive and make everything easy. For that extra touch of luxury, would recommend the Club Rooms with their great views and access to the Club with all its pre dinner drinks, snacks and VIP luxury extras.

I am quite surprised by the positive reviews left for this hotel. I just completed a stay at the Langham and was disappointed on several fronts, but overall I would say it was the opposite of a personalized experience that I would expect from a 5 star hotel. I wouldn’t even call this a 5 star hotel. First, nobody helped me with my bags upon arrival. I usually can handle my luggage myself, but in this case I was traveling my myself and 6 months pregnant and could have really used some help. Help was not offered upon initial arrival nor after check-in to my room. Next, I ate at the Melba restaurant, which quite frankly has the atmosphere of a mega-cruise cafeteria buffet. I ordered a chicken club from the a la carte menu, and it arrived WITHOUT chicken. The room was nice, large, and clean, and I was upgraded courtesy of my American Express Platinum card, but the radio was playing when I walked in the room and would not turn off. Someone came to fix it and turn it off, but shortly after he left it spontaneously started playing again and had to be replaced. I had free breakfast courtesy of my American Express Platinum card, but the hotel restricted it to the buffet at the restaurant. When I asked if I could order off the breakfast menu at the restaurant, they told me “we have a lot of credit card promotions and I don’t really know what yours is.” Helpful. Truly it was the opposite of a personalized experience. Next time I would stay at the Westin in the CBD. Better location in the middle of the city, and a beautiful, fresh feeling lobby that doesn’t give the impression of being on a large commercial cruise ship or Vegas hotel. Notably, I had two excellent treatments at the Chuan Spa, though having spa clients wait for treatments in the busy hallway outside the pool rather than the relaxing lounge with tea and water inside the treatment room doors is a very odd choice. Also, after my pregnancy massage I was given a fair amount of unsolicited medical advice that I didn’t care for. The massage and facial themselves though were wonderful and relaxing, and the 20% discount on so treatments for hotel guests made the treatments well priced. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend this hotel to friends. I think they have a long way to go on the service front to compare to other hotels I’ve enjoyed.

Was lucky enough to receive a voucher for a nights stay with Buffet dinner and breakfast and valet parking. Check in took a bit longer than usual but found out we were upgraded to a river view room. The room was spacious and very nicely appointed although the bed was a bit soft for my liking. A chilled bottle of wine and fruit was waiting for us. The buffet dinner was great, lots of choice with amazing fresh sashimi and seafood and a number of different cuisines to try with many being cooked to order. Breakfast was just as nice, staff very friendly without being intrusive. Overall a great relaxing stay.

I was the fortunate recipient of a “Once Upon a Time” gift voucher and the Langham delivered luxury in spades. From the moment we arrived to check out this was an experience to savour. Our room was beautifully appointed, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff here are clearly proud of their hotel and it shows in the detail to attention that is evident in everything that they do. We enjoyed an excellent dinner with the range of international foods available in the very impressive buffet. Equally, we enjoyed the breakfast which also had a wide range of options available for even the fussiest of eaters. I highly recommend a stay at The Langham as an experience that will not fail to satisfy.

This was an excellent Langham stay from the minute we exited the taxi on arrival until our departure. Concierge arranged car hire, wine tours, restaurants reservations etc. Rooms were very comfortable and well maintained, room service food was good, staff friendly, no complaints at all.

I loved it here, everything about this place is fabulous. Room was amazing, as was the food and service. The pool and gym are both great. Perfect location, walking distance from almost everywhere I wanted to go that weekend. Would definitely recommend.
