My wife and I spent 1 night celebarting our 20th Anniversary at the Langham and what a great experience it was Langham. The staff were so friendly and made us feel so comfortable and provided a room upgrade upon arrival.I organised a surprise Spa Treatment for my wife at Chuan Spa which she said was the best Spa treatment she has ever had.Breakfast at Melba's was a great way to start the day and dinner was good with plenty of choices of food to choose from.
The Langham is in a great location on Southbank. A major plus for me was the ability to run out of the hotel and along the miles of trails along the river and to run around the Tan Track. I paid extra for a river view room and it would be a shame to stay here and not get that view. The room was spacious with a high ceiling and large bathroom. The furnishings are a bit plush and old fashioned but I guess that's a taste thing. The housekeepers were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The bottled water with the turn down service was nice. Negatives - the front desk staff were disorganized and could not find my booking even though I had booked directly with the hotel. They also did not check me in correctly and did not take the appropriate holding deposit, which resulted in problems at check out. The hotel specializes in hosting big gaudy weddings at the weekends so expect the lobby and common areas to be clogged with people. They also get a lot of bus tour groups. But that goes with being a big international hotel. The wifi was not fast. We did not go to breakfast because of the crowds which, as mentioned, can be a problem at weekends. The management were thoughtful enough to warn about that. For the money charged it would have to be pretty good, and it was, notwithstanding the issues above.
Stayed here for our 20yr wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and the staff were amazing. When we arrived in our amazing room we were greeted with a happy anniversary cake. Our room overlooked the river and the city. We were centrally located to restaurants close by and shops. Would highly recommend this place for special occasions 😍😍😍
This is a solid choice if you want to stay centrally in Melbourne. Great location and central to just about everything you need for a visit, including Flinders st station and the St Kilda rd trams. I highly recommend a river view if possible, it's a great sight to wake up to in the morning. The hotel itself was nice, the decor was not to my personal taste being more of a traditional/older style, but the room was well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the food at the hotel as I did not eat a meal there, this is mostly due to the fact that the hotel is located within walking distance of some very good options that I wanted to try. Most importantly for a business trip the hotel wifi was very reliable and I had no issues with connectivity. While the gym itself is better than most hotels, it's still a hotel gym, so there are limited options. However there are a couple of good city gyms nearby if you need to really cut loose.
The Langham hotel in Melbourne is exquisite! It’s location couldn’t be better to the central business district of Melbourne and it overlooks a beautiful river with spectacular views! The service, the decor and level of service is extraordinary! It made our stay in Melbourne spectacular.
Hotel is beautiful, service was good from everyone at the front desk and concierge. We love this hotel and would definitely stay here again. We would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.
I highly recommend the Langham Melbourne to anyone wanting a nice luxurious stay in the heart of Melbourne. Beautiful river views, fantastic staff and cloud like beds that leave you wanting more. I will be staying here again and it is now my go to hotel when i am coming into Melbourne again in the future
Stayed here for 5 days, beautiful place, friendly staff. The bed was super comfortable. The buffet dinner and breakfast was amazing, a generous selection and great quality, the best buffet i have enjoyed yet. Nice view from our room. Walking distance to many nice restaurants and shops. My only fault of the place was we noted on more than 2 occasions there was obvious mess of food/crumbs left on the seating and floor after the high tea, not pleasant having that mess at your feet while enjoying a drink with company. A half broom and shovel or quick vacuum after the high tea is highly recommended, attention to detail is definitely needed there. Besides that I would recommend staying here.
Booked our stay at the Langham for three nights to attend a wedding. The hotel staff were exceptional with their attentiveness, and the room was very clean and tidy. The bedding was so comfortable I slept through the alarm on the first night.A very stylish hotel that offers a great central location in the heart Melbourne over looking the Yarra river. If you like shopping a short 10 minute stroll and you will find yourselves in the famous Burke Street Mall. Loved the stay so much I have re-booked a room for another wedding in March next year
While this is a very well located hotel and the staff were consistently excellent, I came away somewhat disappointed. While my room was of a satisfactory size and was clean, I was less than impressed with (1) a wardrobe so small I could barely hang up two pairs of trousers (I don't know how a couple would cope), (2) very poor TV picture quality, (3) traffic noise could be heard, (4) the conditioning selector seemed to have little control over how hot/cold the room was, (5) a clock/radio that defied my efforts to set the alarm, (6) bare wires visible on the bedhead mounted reading light, (7) light switches all over the room so that turning them off to go to bed was quite an exercise and (8) no complimentary biscuits to have with a tea/coffee.
