I like this hotel.its a bit blingy but really comfortable. rooms are of a descent size. bed very big and very comfortable. good selection of pillows. bedding is pretty standard but clean and not worn. bathroom is great there is a bath and a shower in a lot of rooms. shower preassure good. plenty of towels and a good robe. great curtains offering a good blackout. there is a fridge. the room is a bit like your posh grannies house furniture wise but well presented and there is a good work table. breakfast is very good with a great omlette chef who does perfect poached eggs!. all in all a very nice easy on the eye place to sleep. unlike many modern hotels there are not loads of LED/ Flashing standby lights to drive you mad when you turn the lights off and realise the room is still lite up and flashing away
On most occasions when we come to Melbourne for functions, weekends away etc. we choose to stay at The Langham for its convenience to everything, the quality of the restaurant, and friendliness of the staff. One of Melbourne's best.
We loved our recent stay at Langham in Melbourne. As expected the hotel was beautiful, the room was clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was a good as always! Can't wait to visit it again. The staff were always very friendly and helpful during our stay and we went to the art gallery which is just around the corner, great locations.
In-room dining (dinner) - the chicken casserole that I ordered was extremely salty and inedible. The meat was overcooked and the amount of steamed vegetable that came with the dish was so little & tiny (5 pieces of baby vegetable!!!), and hard (they were undercooked). If I have to rate the dish it would be 0/10. It was disgusting and simply not a dish that should be served by a five star hotel. The garlic bread was hard like rock. My husband and I used to enjoy the in-room dining at The Langham and it used to be something that we highly recommend to our families and friends - not anymore! Breakfast buffet at Melba Restaurant - POOR quality of breakfast/ingredients (baked beans was sweet, most breads and pastries were dry and tough, mushrooms and fruits were chopped in all different shapes & unappetising) - Lack of variety (we had the same selection for 3 days) - Mouldy gingers were found in the juicing bar for consecutively 2 days! I had two guests from overseas who joined us for breakfast at the Melba Restaurant. It was so embarrassing when the above mentioned was raised. I couldn't even justify paying $40++ per person - simply not worth it. It somehow made us felt like the hotel is trying to cut costs and use cheap ingredients. We recently stayed at the Sheraton Melbourne and their breakfast buffet was excellent. Their selection was comparably smaller but their menu changed slightly each day. The most important is that they used BETTER quality ingredients as compared to The Langham and all of the food served at hot and cold stations were FRESH. We were satisfied with the services provided by the front desk, bell desk, housekeeping and Chuan Spa, but felt that the whole dining experience was a huge disappointment to our overall stay at The Langham. No great hurry for us to return to The Langham.
Great location right near Flinders street station and Melbourne CBD, great service. Excellent buffet lunch at the Melba restaurant. Selection of foods were outstanding. We really enjoyed our stay, made to feel special. The room had a lovely view of the river
My first sty at the Langham... I'd heard good things and took the opportunity when it arose. Excellent service on arrival, great room on the 10th floor, with a balcony. The hotel, bar and facilities were as expected.. the bed sensational. Highly recommended
We booked a river view room on the 18th floor for our daughter's 18th birthday, This was her first time here, she was blown away by a surprise birthday cake, the city views, friendly staff and beautiful decor of the hotel, Thank you again for a memorable stay.
I've been there with eleven business colleagues and still I remember this experience. beautiful staff service with kind service. No hesitate to recommend for any person this place. Specially for business this is the best place next to Yarra river in Melbourne.
We stayed overnight as part of taking in a concert at a nearby venue. From arrival to departure, Langham staff impressed with their attentiveness, efficiency and courtesy. Although the view from the window of our room faced mostly into offices, the ambience of the room itself was lovely (i.e. clean and well-appointed). We ordered a small snack through room service and it was delivered very promptly, and was very tasty. We entertained a guest at the bar/lounge post-concert, and both food and service were second to none. Check-in and check-out was a breeze, and the valet parking component of the winter special an excellent plus. All in all, an experience worth having!
This hotel is first class through and through. Awesome location, just a few steps away from many restaurants. The lobby is gorgeous. All staff are very accomodating. Tried room service and also Aria Bar & Lounge. Food was presented beautifully and tasted awesome. The pool is not very big but sufficient and we appreciated that it was warm enough to swim on in the middle of Melbourne winter! All in all a fabulous hotel true to its 5-star rating and we will definitely return should we find ourselves back in Melbourne!
