Stayed over a week and picked the hotel for its functioning kitchen. Hotel is located on a scenic stretch of St Kilda Road. Details below Location * Overlooking a commercial part of St Kilda Road, on what is a very busy road during peak hours. Lots of workers during the day walking around. At night is very quiet with few people out and about * Good proximity to Alfred hospital if your staying nearby for medical reasons * Walking distance to tram station with easy 15-20 mins to Melbourne CBD * Nearby amenities are a 7-11 store, 20 min walk or short taxi to get to bigger grocery stores in Prahran * There is a restaurant in the hotel (more a bar than family restaurant), restaurant in the nearby Parkview and across the road near commercial road is a Burger Edge, Pizza, Japanese and Nandos . So you will have nearby options to get a meal * For those seeking more shopping or night life you have Prahran (Chappel road) or the city as choices. Uber / taxi range from 7.50 to 15 to get to the Prahran/Windsor area. Rooms (stayed in a studio room) * Clean and modern rooms. General hotel grounds look new. Comparing to say the Parkview nearby which looks decades apart. * Kitchenette comes with full size fridge, a cook-top, microwave, dishwasher and range of utensils to use. Guest laundry is on the ground floor. * Rooms have balconies but you would want to request forward facing rooms if you want to sit out and enjoy the view * TV has a mix of commercial and small selection of pay TV channels (including TVhits and sports, kids channels) Movie packages as well are available * Room service food menu is decent for after hours offerings compared to some Ive seen * Bathroom modern. There is not a lot of bathroom bench space as they go but shower has good flow and pressure * Pillows were not great, should have more of a selection of firmness types on offer by default * Air-conditioner kept the room toasty warm on cold Melbourne days Service * Housekeeping seemed ok * Concierge was very helpful when I had issues, top marks from me for them on that point Summary Decent hotel if you need to stay in that area. Pricing seems good as well. Could be a good modern but budget option close to the CBD without the CBD pricing. The studio rooms may be too small if you bring along kids, not sure what other offerings they may have for more than 2 people. If you don't like using car, taxi or tram you would perhaps look for a hotel with more immediate walking distance activities nearby.
Boooked two studios and interconnecting family rooms. Great location, easy access via car and trams. Very friendly staff. Also enjoyed Bakini Bistro/Restaurant. Kids Ioved the room and want to come back the to Matnra St Kilda
enjoyed the facilities and being on the quiet floor so I could catch up with outstanding work. service was good and the room was very comfortable. easy check in and very pleasant staff at every contact
Well appointed, staff are really friendly and professional, room service is quick and the food is great from the restaurant downstairs. Breakfast is great and definitely one of better hotel breakfast buffets going around with great variety and nice quality. The rooms are nice and well equipped and have a balcony too. Great that you have parking too. Been here a couple of times now and we've been very happy with it.
Quick over night stay. Check in and check out seamless and efficient. Room was comfortable, decent size. Bed was average. Lots of parking available out the front of hotel so no need to pay fee at hotel
Beautiful, modern rooms with original styling unlike many other motel rooms. We stayed in a studio and it was incredibly spacious with an almost full kitchen giving you the option to cook. Great service, we were even surprised with a bottle of wine from management as a gift! You really do get value for money when staying at Mantra on St Kilda Road. Not a single complaint which is very rare!
Stayed for business. Very professional staff, beautiful clean rooms. However the bedding could have been more comfortable and air con a little less noisy. Property is on the picturesque St Kilda road which provides good access to offices on that road.
Shortfall was shower - door opening and closing is not suitable and would be hard to manage is you had a disability. Reception was quick and easy. Bar staff was friendly and food was very good. Lastly don't insist that I write an essay of 200 words.
This motel was top notch - from the greeting at reception to the fantastic rooms and amenities. Has a carpark for an extra charge. We requested an early check in the day before our booking and although they could not promise our room was available when we arrived at 11am. Thanks Mantra.
Great location, elegant, beautiful rooms with everything you could need at your finger tips. Comfortable bed. Clean modern bathroom Room service menu Arancini balls , citrus fennel salad. Staff are very helpful. Highly recommend to stay at the Mantra St Kilda
