Only stayed one night but for location and price you want get any better deal in Melbourne. Check in was fast and Alistair was excellent in doing so. For less than one hundred dollars I did not expect such nice rooms with coffee and biscuits , free wi fi and parking. Tram stop right next to Hotel number 19 tram takes you straight to the city in 10 minutes. Myki card can be purchased or topped up right next door from the 7 eleven and is also handy if you are looking for a snack. Noise not a problem I think I have found my new choice of Hotel when I visit Melbourne again.
On first impression the location of the hotel (in reality a motel) is a little odd being probably twenty minutes to half hour fro the CBD depending on mode of transport. (And in fairness we booked and paid for the hotel “blind” on Hotwire.com and were looking for closer). That said it is served very well by the tram 19 which is virtually next door and was not an inconvenience. At the same time, the location makes it a great location to drive yo and park for access to the city. Parking is, valuably, FREE. The rooms have a motel feel but are perfectly adequate. The most memorable aspect of this Best Western is the staff. Who are wonderfully friendly, professional and helpful. Jacinda, with whom we shared our enjoyment of watching “Book of Mormon”, was especially lovely. Thanks BW.
We booked one bedroom apartment for seven days. We were upgraded to a larger apartment which was big and roomy it had a good kitchen big dining room and good size lounge room with sofa The bedroom and bathroom was seperate to the living area Staff were excellent and friendly Location is near princes park with tram stop outside your door could get tram into town very close to lygon street We had a very pleasant stay and will be back extremely affordable too
The motel was conveniently located near a tram stop and close to people we wished to visit. The room was comfortable, clean, the TV worked and the shower was hot. Although we didn't use the full kitchen, I imagine that other people would have found this very useful. Even though there were four adults in the room, it didn't feel crowded which was a definite plus.
Was greeted with amazing friendly staff. Fabulous room and so close to the trams for commute to Melbourne CBD or other locations. Easy walk to pubs and Coles / Woolworths. Will stay everytime I come to Melbourne.
Check in was a breeze and handled very professionally by a clerk called Lester who turned out to be very friendly offered amazing service and is a credit to the Best Western chain ,My booked room was not satisfactory as I was on a business trip and the free wifi was not adequate in that particular room ,I had requested a quiet room and was booked into a room on the third floor at the back side of the hotel ,Lester arranged a new room for me closer to reception and even carried my heavy bags for me to the new room where the wifi was fast and the room was quiet ,Room 217 a nice choice , The room itself was clean with all of the amenities required for a comfortable stay for 6 nights ,It also had a spa which was great to relax in after a long day ,My only comment here is that when using the Spa for your shower the Spa floor is very slippery and The property really should supple those rubber mats to Stand on so that you don’t slip ,The rooms are serviced daily and the towels ,Bath soaps ect all all good quality , The location is very good right on the corner of Royal parade and Sydney Road where there are lots of restaurants and a coles and Woolies just a few steps away in the Barkly centre ,All in all a great stay the Staff were all very pleasant and the service was excellent ,I will definitely return
Great location, excellent service, very clean room and surprisingly quiet given the location. Off street parking was available which was an added bonus. It was easy to find coming in from Sydney Road.
I stayed here overnight while working late in Brunswick. The studio apartment was very clean, modern looking and had a great bathroom. Free wifi, small kitchen with basic facilities and i even got a small balcony. The beds were comfortable and heaps of pillow choices so there was no putting up with lumpy or rock hard pillows. The location is great for anyone wanting to go anywhere in or around the city. Tram stops only 1min walk, great park across the road and heaps of food choices including a supermarket only minutes walk away. Only negative is that it is a busy street intersection and the road noise could be a little troublesome for light sleepers. i was very impressed and wont hesitate to return again.
Getting here by car is easy and so is the parking and the staff - all of them - are nice and helpful. First we got an upgrade to a ground floor room and with 80 kg. of luggage that is MOST appreciated! Then the recpetionist lent us a MYKI-card so we did not have to spend too much on the tram - we of course will return them. The location is great - you can take the tram more or less right outside the door and it will take you straight to the city. Sydney Road is a busy street with shopping and restaurants. Gallery 324 has great pizza - and delivers for free to the hotel :-) Good sleep quality, nice rooms - had a little problem with the shower it went from nice to icecold and back and then to burning hot.... But only when I showered, my husband had no problems?!?
Great spot, very close to city and Lygon St. We drove from Sydney so it was great to be able to park easy at no cost. Room was very clean and comfortable. Nice towels, hand towels and face washer. Staff were lovely. Highly recommend and very reasonable.
