The highlight of this hotel was its central location and how close it was to a metro train station. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only complain we have is that the breakfast butter and cold items were kept out and at room temperature and the bread selection seemed to be from days before. I asked for laundry service and was very pleased with my clean and folded clothes :)

We stayed there e for 4 nights and they cleaned our room once! They cleaned didn’t clean our room ONCE. I’ve asked the guy at the front desk to send the housekeeper to clean our room he said that they don’t have a housekeeping personal to clean to room and that I needed to requested that much more earlier ( I left the hotel at 9.00AM and I reached back at 8:PM). I wanted then a room change and that was not possible either. The room is super outdated. The AC air direction fin wasn’t there. the lights switch was fixed at a power outlet that wasn’t covered so if you touch it you can be hit by the electricity. At the “restaurant” there was ants in the Juice when asked for other Juice they said the wasn’t any more juice. So all by all a very bad experience. I use to work for 8 year for the Marriott so I know what the standards are.

We were staying at a friend's house but it got too crowded and we had to find a place for 2 nights nearing the end of our visit. We could choose between NH in Poblado, which was offering a promotion at 80 USD per night, or stay in the area and go to this place, at "Special price" of 55 USD per night. Quick inspection of the room made us choose this one since we were not going to be indoor a lot anyway. Room seemed clean, receptionist was pleasant, and we stayed close to our friend's house. Plus the metro is close and it seemed to be a semi residential area, with little to no outside noise. Everything went fine the first night, although what other reviewers have mentioned is true : - safe did not work and was portable anyway, so that is a useless piece of junk. - fridge seemed like one of those from the fifties, such as the ones you find in Cuba from before the revo. - street is actually quite noisy, except for 4-5 hours in the middle of the night. There are tons of small trucks and motorbikes driving by, and they are noisy. - be prepared for the bare minimum in the bathroom : no shampoo, no shower gel. Just one small bar of soap. - beyond the impression of cleanliness, there is actually a level of letting go that I can't cope with, even at 55 USD per night. Remember, it is Colombia, not Paris, so 55 USD is actually above average cost. See pictures I am attaching... Second night was worse. We got to the room with the intention to rest a little and two of us had to get up at 4.30 to get to the airport on time. And the shower had no hot water... We asked to have it fixed and receptionist told us he had no idea what the problem was and that he could not fix it. So no shower to travel back home, because the water was actually quite cold. Next morning the receptionist was Miss Smiles. I was quite bothered by what had happened, she told me they would fix it. I went back to room and waited for an hour. Nothing. Went back down, and found out that the problem was the flame of the gas heater had gone out. But it was "fixed". For something this silly, sorry but even I could have fixed it. At that point I was upset. No real apology, no offer to reduce invoice, nothing. And of course, three breakfasts were in the rate, even though two had left before the breakfast area opened. I would have stayed another night. I would have recommended the place to more friends of mine. But with that attitude, certainly not. Miss smiles asked me to fill a customer satisfaction survey, adding insult to injury. I did, and also asked to speak to manager, who, you guessed it, was not there. She said the manager would call me to discuss what had happened. I gave her a local phone number. Still waiting for the call. In short, good location, cheaper than if you stay in Poblado, but a worn down place with very poor customer service. They just want the money and don't care about your level of comfort and satisfaction. Not what I expect from a so called "boutique hotel". To me, just good for backpackers or someone who wants to be close to the stadium, for whatever reason. You have been warned.

The hotel is basic but clean. On the first day I was assigned a room overlooking the street and found it noisy in the early morning so the next day they changed me to another room and it was very comfortable. I was in Colombia for work so was at breakfast modtly by myself. The staff always made me feel very welcomed and helped me get directions, taxis, and by the third day knew my preferences at breakfast. They were very helpfull keeping my luggage while I was away on a 3 day trip. The location is nice, walking distance to restaurants and shops. I would definitely come back.

We spent 4 nights here on a holiday in Colombia. The hotel is located in a quiet largely residential area near La Floresta station. It's clean with renovated bathrooms. Large screen tv with some english channels. Air conditioning and z fan. Includes a typical Colombian breakfast. The area is safe to walk around and 3 blocks from carreta 80 which has several restaurants far less expensive than those in El Poblado. Friendly staff who speak a bit of English. With a short 3 blocks to metro you can't beat the location. Would highly recommend the hotel. I booked on Expedia and had np problems with the reservation.

I arrived at this hotel late evening to find that my allocated room had already been let to someone else. I was placed in a very small room until the next day when I was able to move to my proper room which was larger and much more comfortable. It was a self catering room but with no utensils plates or anything else provided. The safe was also transportable - I picked it up and took it to the bench to place items therein, locked it and carried it back to the closet. Not really safe!! However room servicing was very good, cleanliness was good and breakfast was provided - although all I had was coffee as the rest did not appeal to me. Outside noise was considerable during the night with the road outside used as a short cut for noisy motor bikes and trucks. Staff were either very helpful, or cared litttle - it depending what shift was working.

Arrived at the hotel, service was not special, the room was very small, had a working a/c, but the safe did not work, so they brought another safe-placing it on top of the one they had lost the keys for. Points for trying....... One face towel and 2 bath towels per couple, breakfast was served in a mostly neglected dining area, during our stay always full of dirty dishes and cups..... Hotel was exceptionally noisy with construction across the street, traffic sound and loud guests... Located in a decent area close to the "Estadio" Stadium and Park and that is quite accessable within a 5-10 minute walk as well as its Metro station.

I arrived at the hotel about two hours before the official check-in time which was not a problem. In my room I discovered that the safe was not functional and brought it to the attention of the front desk. I was told that there was nothing they could do about the safe but they offered to keep my valuables in the hotel office; I was also told that my valuables would be secure in my room without the use of the safe. I reluctantly decided to keep my valuables in my room. I am pleased to say that at the end of my three week stay my valuables were intact. I have visited Medellin on four previous occasions and on each of those occasions I stayed in hotels in Poblado. I am happy that on this occasion I decided to stay in this hotel in Estadio as it was more than 30 percent cheaper than my previous hotels and was just as comfortable. The only advantages that the Poblado hotels had on the Estadio Real is that the rooms were bigger and Poblado is regarded as more upscale. I had no problems with wifi. The hotel was very clean. The metro stop, Floresta, was a mere five minute walk away. Furthermore I found the neighborhood quite safe. My main grouse was the noise, the sounds of vehicular traffic on the road adjoining the hotel permeated into my room which was on the fifth floor. However, at night with the air condition on it was not a problem. The ac did filter the noise and there was also much less traffic on the road. A greater noise problem was that during my stay here there was an influx of teenagers (dozens) who were participating in some event at the nearby Medellin sports complex and they were quite noisy as all teenagers away from home tend to be. Because of its proximity to the sports complex one ought to keep in mind that there will always be a possibility of this hotel being used to accommodate many young people at the same time. In conclusion, I would say that my stay was overall a pleasant one and in the future I do not see the possibility of returning to Poblado.

I have just returned from a 3 night stay in Medellín and was very content with my decision. I have previously stayed in much nicer regions of the city, but they also accompany a much higher rate. If you are looking for a clean room, with friendly staff and a great overall value then I highly recommend this hotel.

Staying on 7th floor with great views across the city. Fab staff, nice mini bar, good breakfasts, excellent safe location, spotlessly clean and just a 5 minute taxi ride into city. Don't look anywhere else for Medellin.
