The house was cozy and conveniently located near various amenities. It was approximately a 20-minute drive from JMU, depending on traffic conditions. The kitchen was well-equipped with utensils, though guests may wish to bring their own salt, pepper, and spices for cooking. Overall, it provided a pleasant getaway experience. We hope to utilize the amenities during our next visit. Our intention was to assist our daughter with her move to JMU while also enjoying a relaxing retreat. We brought our small dog, and despite the initial allowance for two pets, our dog Bolt thoroughly enjoyed the stay too.

Close to Swift Run entrance to the park

The home was spacious and clean but it’s a bit outdated. For the price I guess that’s to be expected. Every thing was in working order. There were quite a few bees around the back deck and the patio furniture was weathered wood. Overall it was just okay but I would probably not stay more than a few days.

Very Happy

The layout of the house was spectacular. Was able to access the kitchen from the hallway and living room creating a circle. Loads of light sources, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen is there, plenty of linens and paper products, and it was very clean. We had trouble with a light in the basement bathroom but communication was quick and the problem fixed same day. I would gladly stay here again!! A perfect place for any family to stay at.

Bug infested

I must say that I have stayed at A LOT of VRBOs and this was by far my least favorite! Our main issue with this property was the fact that it was infested with stink bugs. They were on the floors, walls, in the light fixtures, in our beds and even ended up in our luggage! We texted and reported this and the management company was very responsive and apologized and had someone come out. When they came out they told us there was nothing they could do bc we had dogs with us. ( this is a pet friendly property). On the first night we went to shut a bedroom door and it fell completely off the hinges onto me. The towel rack in the bathroom fell on the floor when my dad reached for a towel. The shower curtain rods are barely hanging on. To say the least this property need A LOT of TLC. This was very disappointing as we were there to celebrate my sons 18th birthday

Pet friendly house

It would be helpful if dishwashing soap and dishwasher tabs be provided My experience is that a few days worth are needed for those traveling a distance. Also there were no blankets. As a pet friendly house, a fenced in yard area would be great since the road is very busy and there was no place to walk the fog

Location

The house was beautiful, clean and we had a lovely stay. I would suggest you get a new sectional for the living room. We could only sit on one end because the other end was next to impossible to get up out of. The springs on the back of the sofa are all broken and poking out of the back fabric, walking behind that someone could get seriously hurt and cut real bad. Adding what type of coffe pot would be very helpful so your guests know what type of coffee is needed. K Cups or what type of filter. The house is too close to the street and very dangerous, cars fly by you here the noise of the traffic. Other than that if you don’t have a per traveling with you I would highly recommend staying here.

Great spot for multiple couples

We really enjoyed our stay. Even though there were only 2 of us (and the dog). We would certainly go back with another couple, it is ideal for that as there was plenty of room and we could each have our own king/bath combo. That is hard to find AND the property was central to our activities.

Great place close to JMU and Massanutten

This was an ideal place for our family to stay during the JMU family weekend visiting our son in college. It was beautiful, quiet and away from the ruckus of Harrisonburg while at the same time only 20 minutes away so that we could attend all of the things we as parents want to do with our kiddos at school. It was also only 25 minutes from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The only bump in the road was flying in late from California (takes 7 flight hours and another 2 driving to get there) through a hurricane and having a three hour time change and being told at 8:30 in the morning that someone would be arriving IMMEDIATELY and we had to answer the door and make the place available for their maintenance people. There was no question, request or them doing it the day before when no one was in it (they offered to sell us another day earlier at half rate but we weren’t flying in then) or after. We were told there would be flashlights when we got back on the 2nd night as they were expecting power outages (again hurricane rains) and there weren’t any but luckily we didn’t lose power. i’m giving it five stars only because it was an ideal location and a really beautiful place. But communication with mgmt and consideration for us could have been a little better. That being said, we would stay there again and just hope that this was a fluke that doesn’t happen often.

Wonderful property for children and pets

Lovely property with lots of room, spacious yard for our dog and nicely stocked with cook ware. We loved the area because the local "resort" has something for everyone whether it be skiing, water park, golf, etc. Tripforth was easy to work with. We will be returning!
