This property was clean and fresh, the staff helpful, the wifi fast, the beds comfortable and the price was really good so it is really ok. However, everything is well used and it shows. The office chair in our room was fake leather and it was worn down to the underlining and could not be adjusted. That is unacceptable. There were stains on the carpet. The cabinets, fixtures, air conditioner, and decorations were all original with the building and there were nicks and scratches on most of them. Breakfast is only fruit. But again, for the money the place was ok.
Booked for the price and the kitchen, will come back for so many reasons. I called the hotel to request a quiet room. Top floor, corner - perfect! King bed, BIG kitchen - perfect. Towels are lux and fluffy. Full size washer and dryer, and gym. They have a "borrow" library, movies, games…and a grocery store. We worked every day on a lake home and needed a respite from the heat, so for me the bath was wonderful every night as was the Good Morning every early day. This home away from home was perfect.
We drove to Texas and this hotel was listed on the "Points Break" list and was located in a good spot to stop both on our way down and back. Very clean, large room with a comfortable bed. Chairs need replaced as they had worn spots in the material, and we didn't have the same room twice and the chairs in the second room were in the same condition, other than that no complaints. Staff were pleasant and helpful
My husband and I were driving from Illinois to Texas - about 14 hours. We hit Mcalester about 11pm and decided we were too tired to do the remaining four hours. We were able to get a last minute room here. There were no king rooms available but we got a room with two double beds. Jessica at the front desk was very friendly and she got us checked in promptly. We were on the second floor, room 215, it was near the elevator but we had no noise issues. Our room was very spacious, clean, and we got a good nights rest before finishing our drive the next morning.
After the shock over the pet fee. The place is clean the staff are great. Rooms are big free laundry but I would trade that for a free breakfast was very surprised not having a free breakfast ! It's a nice place but way too much nickel and diming for the cost of the place !
So we stayed here when they was building our house back in 2015 for 6 months. I'm a elite member so I stay often at IHG, but I made reservations for us to stay here now for 2 weeks cause my place sold and now we can't stay here cause they don't rent to locals. I get it there is thugs in all towns but when a guest had stayed there before and no problems then why throw away six hundred dollars. Then I wasn't even given my IHG stuff or even greeted when checking in. Then I ask for late check out and now that has changed to. THIS USE TO BE A VERY GOOD HOTEL BUT NOW I THINK IT'S GOING DOWN HILL...... Kj property LLC needs to rework there property and policy.
Very nice suite in a quiet area (although there was road construction going on nearby that disrupted traffic, it was not loud in the hotel). Convenient to restaurants and downtown Mcalester. Cleaning of room only done weekly but can get clean towels and service was great. Angela at the front desk was very welcoming and customer friendly.
This place surprised me. I usually use another hotel and was surprised to find a full kitchen with dishes at this hotel. I wish they had continental breakfast but they are cheap for such a nice place! The gal at the front counter about 8pm is fun and outgoing. She was joking and had all the guests laughing in the lobby. Great asset and a great feeling when tired from a hard days work!
Chances are, if you are reading this, you either work for the federal government or work at an oil field. As for this government worker, it was a great deal. It offers the government rate. Like all Candlewoods, they have a full kitchen and a free laundromat. Great for those who like to cook their own meals and need to do laundry (like me). The hotel is relatively new and located across from a large shopping center that includes a Wal Mart. There are also a few restaurants within a two minute walk. The room was spacious and comfortable. Many channels available on the cable television and there is a DVD player (and there is a lending library at the font desk). The Laundry Room/Fitness Center has three washers (one only for oil workers' clothing) and four dryers, some cardio equipment, a few free weights and a universal machine. There was a piece broken, which meant one could not do leg extensions, but it did not ruin my workout routine. If you have a light to moderate exercise regimen you should have no problem here. Also, I hate using elevators, and the place have nice carpeted staircases. The front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. Some cons: My wi-fi connection was very spotty and sometimes I just gave up trying to use it. My DVD player did not work and it had to be replaced (and the folks who replaced it left the packing materials on my bed.) And while I was there no one was able to attach my rewards account to the reservation and I had to call IHG afterwards to get it done. All in all, it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend.
Huge room. Kitchenette with microwave, dishwasher & full size fridge with ice maker. Holiday Inn Express was full we found Candlewood. King size bed suite $75. Plenty of restaurants near by. Close to highway & airport. Very clean.
