Excellent hotel, wonderful beach, staff seems to go out of their way to be sure you are happy and having fun, best luau, hotel dinner menu is good but could be more extensive, food was excellent though

I love my stay. View of the ocean and very nice staff. Parking was very difficult though. Never anywhere to park close to the hotel.

We get to Maui on an average of once per year. This was one of the best places we've stayed, and definitely plan to stay here again.

The pull out sofa in our room was uncomfortable to sit on I guess you can't have both a comfortable couch and a pull out. The place could have used a pizza/burger place as the alternative to an expensive hotel restaurant. You couldn't hire a better staff they made us feel very special. Any thing we needed they were there for us. We also appreciated the gate guard telling us welcome home. The only other complaint is that the place could have used another hot tub. The one hot tub was usually full.

We stayed in a cottage in great proximity to the beach and the golf course. It was spacious but dated and apparently the majority are undergoing renovations ours had not.

Wondeful place, early morning stroll on the beach walk was terrific with ocean view.

This hotel looks at their guests as cash cows. Pay to park. Pay for a chair on the beach. Pay to use a floatie. Etc. etc.

Just a very short stay but the hospitality of staff is great. Regret that I had no time to enjoy the pools.

My family and I arrived at the resort very late Friday night and were greeted with big smiles and attentiveness. From that moment on, the staff was nothing but polite and helpful at every turn. It made our stay that much better knowing we always had someone who was willing to assist us in making our experience better!

We've stayed here a couple of times before and love the location. The restaurant/bar is great; food is good. But the hotel is starting to get run down. In our bathroom, the lavatory faucet was lose and dripped. The shower had mold around the tile; disgusting. Very disappointed in the upkeep because these are simple things to address. Staff is pleasant but not overly friendly.

Clean and comfortable. Very friendly, helpful staff. We stayed in a cottage, so not sure about the hotel rooms. I would not recommend the restaurant, small portions, overpriced.

Beach has a dangerous drop off about 3 feet out! Pillows poor! Drinks about $1 to high! Hotel clean & comfortable! Beach bar a lot of fun!

A real Hawaiian experience in an amazing location. Best place to stay on Maui

The hotel was nice, people were nice, the view was nice.

Great location, not crowded, crystal clear water, good beach and nice rooms.

We had a lovely time at the RLR. Enjoyed the restaurant, amenities, pool and beach activities that the hotel offered.

Great, clean rooms. We didn't get an ocean view but could still see a great amount of the ocean from the balcony. The room was slightly small for 4 adults but we only had a standard room. Very beautiful property, not very crowded which was ideal. Good snorkeling right down the beach from the hotel. Would definitely stay again!

I stayed at Royal Lahaina for 6 wonderful nights. We had a view of the ocean, a clean room, soft bed, helpful staff. I came for the Maui Marathon weekend and it was an easy walk to the expo and start line for most of the races. The staff helped us plan an excellent trip to Mt. Haleakela and a snorkeling trip to Lanai, where we saw hundreds of dolphins too. I only wish I had more time to take a Ukulele lesson.

Great hotel & resort for the price. We used this as our getaway and we're enchanted by the food, the view and the staff. Unfortunately the let downs were the college bar like cocktails that were either super strong or super sweet, the lack of late room service and the lack of a spa. While those aforementioned didn't ruin the trip they would have been welcomed amenities. Other than that, I would still recommend the stay.

When we checked in, our relatives were already in a cottage near the golf course. We mentioned this to the front desk and were asked if we wanted the cottage next to them? Since our beautiful neice was with them we of course said yes. The cottage was very nice. The amenities, pools, restaurant and bars were excellent. a good trip for us.
