Stayed in one of the cottages, decor was old. No desk or anywhere to sit and eat or play cards in the room. Outside is beautiful, nice beach, close to everything in Kanapali/Lahiana.

I come every years., and always have a pleasant experience!✨

Great location and accommodations.the cottagrs are worth therxtra money.

Our stay started off a little rocky, because we'd requested a room with two beds, since it us as a couple and our 8 year old daughter, i.e. "The Sleep Flailer". We checked in and were put in a room with one king bed, but not enough room for a roll-away bed. We brought it to the front desk's attention, and after discussing it with management (I assume), we were upgraded from a standard room to a partial ocean view room with a king bed and a roll-away bed, no additional cost. We realized that the special requests can't always be honored, but we booked 5 months in advance, and they made it right. We loved the balcony, it was a beautiful view. The room itself was nice, the A/C worked overtime, which I guess is a good thing. The shower worked fine, but the door was always slightly ajar, so the water would run out onto the floor. Maid service was up to par, kept us in clean towels and they were very nice. There were 2 pools that we saw, but I think there are a total of 3. Towels are available poolside. Also, there's a restaurant in the hotel, complete with hungry/angry birds to amuse or annoy you as you eat. Nobody seemed too bothered by the birds, which I think might just be a part of island life. The food was good and the prices were comparable to the rest of Lahaina's eating places. Wait staff was friendly. The little store on site sells a little of everything, and there's an on site laundromat. Also, the luau "Myths of Maui" is held at the resort, and it was a lot of fun.

Hotel staff was polite and professional. However, facilities are dated and worn. Rooms are small. We had two parents and 17 year old daughter yet they initially booked us into very small room with one bed and no room for cot. We got that changed to slightly larger room with cot. Bathroom was very worn and dirty. Carpet was dirty. Hotel lobby was dated. Resort has few amenities and only one restaurant. One highlight was live guitar/singer performers. Very pleasant. Hotel is too far from most tours like Road to Hana and boat trips. Forced to spend too much time driving. Parking was insufficient and not free. Hotel needs to liven things up.

Would have loved to have a microwave in my room. Loved the view, perfect beach location. Needs to add toast to their breakfast. Had a great time!

Hotel was great! Room service needed to pay a little more attention to little things like when shampoo and conditioner run out, but other then that it was amazing!

Beach is one of best in West Maui. Staff is great. Our cabin was in need of complete renovation.

SHOWER FLOOR TILES & TRIM HAD BLACK MOLD, CEILING ABOVE SHOWER HAD RUST & LARGE CHIPS OF PAINT COMING OFF. POOLS WERE VERY DISAPPOINTING. LARGER OF 2 POOLS WAS SMALL AND RIGHT OUTSIDE RESTAURANT FOR EVERYONE TO VIEW YOU WHILE THEY WERE EATING. SMALLER POOL WAS JUST THAT, A SMALL POOL., BOTH VERY BORING. HOWEVER, STAFF WAS VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL. THE CONSIERGE WAS VERY HELPFUL TO US. RIGHT AFTER CHECK IN WE NOTIFIED FRONT DESK OF MOLD IN BATHROOM AND 2 EMPLOYEES WERE SENT UP RIGHT AWAY AND THE MOLD WAS CLEANED.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Lahaina. They gave us a room in the Tower with a partial ocean view and it was absolutely amazing. I would recommend the tower as it is upgraded. The room size is normal but nice and clean. Would recommend this hotel at the current price point. It has beach access and an easy boardwalk to get to Whaler's Village and the surrounding hotels.

we booked our cottage months in advance, and were promised a renovated cottage, and when we got there, it was filthy, black mold, bugs. even our toilet did not flush. when I spoke to the manager, she told me that there were no more beach front cottages. They lied to us, since I am disabled, I had to be really close to the beach because I cannot walk very far. We slept with our clothes on the first night, as we arrived so late, nothing could be addressed. We checked out early the following morning, and stayed at another beach front condo for the same price. DO NOT BOOK YOU STAY AT ANY OF THEIR COTTAGES, there are far better places that are clean and very nice.

We traveled to Maui for our wedding and honeymoon. We couldn't have been more happy with a hotel than the royal Lahaina resort. Very courteous and helpful staff. Made us feel like we were family.

Room didn't get cleaned til 4:00. Hotel staff at front counter was rude! The thin blanket on the bed wasn't even a blanket!

When we were researching resorts to stay at near Lahaina, we wanted a resort that was well kept, clean, updated, and on the beach. The Royal Lahaina Resort was absolutely fabulous! The grounds are spacious and very well cared for. The staff was courteous and professional to us. The room was very clean and the bed was sooo comfortable! We never heard any other guests while in our room, very quiet. The on-site restaurant had excellent food which overlooked the pool and ocean. We were really impressed with everything and would definitely stay here again!!

Staff was real friendly and helpful, just a stroll away from the beach, just know the hotel has resort fees and parking is 30 per day if you use valet parking above all the fees its a nice hotel and my family loved the pool and spa

The main hotel tower rooms are nice, not amazing, but the linens are great, and things are clean. But...the unrenovated cottages are smelly, dated and in disrepair. Yes, the cottage was clean, but there were resident funky smells, the carpets were frayed, and handles were falling off here and there. Very eighties, and not in a good way. Some of the staff are really lovely. Tourist-fatigue among locals throughout this area is widespread (who can blame them?), and the RL is no exception.

Hotel is very clean and well cared for but getting older. Easy walk to pool and ocean. Pools are small though. Great views of ocean from room and balcony to sit on.

Excellent hotel, wonderful beach, staff seems to go out of their way to be sure you are happy and having fun, best luau, hotel dinner menu is good but could be more extensive, food was excellent though

I love my stay. View of the ocean and very nice staff. Parking was very difficult though. Never anywhere to park close to the hotel.

We get to Maui on an average of once per year. This was one of the best places we've stayed, and definitely plan to stay here again.
