Beach is one of best in West Maui. Staff is great. Our cabin was in need of complete renovation.

SHOWER FLOOR TILES & TRIM HAD BLACK MOLD, CEILING ABOVE SHOWER HAD RUST & LARGE CHIPS OF PAINT COMING OFF. POOLS WERE VERY DISAPPOINTING. LARGER OF 2 POOLS WAS SMALL AND RIGHT OUTSIDE RESTAURANT FOR EVERYONE TO VIEW YOU WHILE THEY WERE EATING. SMALLER POOL WAS JUST THAT, A SMALL POOL., BOTH VERY BORING. HOWEVER, STAFF WAS VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL. THE CONSIERGE WAS VERY HELPFUL TO US. RIGHT AFTER CHECK IN WE NOTIFIED FRONT DESK OF MOLD IN BATHROOM AND 2 EMPLOYEES WERE SENT UP RIGHT AWAY AND THE MOLD WAS CLEANED.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Lahaina. They gave us a room in the Tower with a partial ocean view and it was absolutely amazing. I would recommend the tower as it is upgraded. The room size is normal but nice and clean. Would recommend this hotel at the current price point. It has beach access and an easy boardwalk to get to Whaler's Village and the surrounding hotels.

we booked our cottage months in advance, and were promised a renovated cottage, and when we got there, it was filthy, black mold, bugs. even our toilet did not flush. when I spoke to the manager, she told me that there were no more beach front cottages. They lied to us, since I am disabled, I had to be really close to the beach because I cannot walk very far. We slept with our clothes on the first night, as we arrived so late, nothing could be addressed. We checked out early the following morning, and stayed at another beach front condo for the same price. DO NOT BOOK YOU STAY AT ANY OF THEIR COTTAGES, there are far better places that are clean and very nice.

We traveled to Maui for our wedding and honeymoon. We couldn't have been more happy with a hotel than the royal Lahaina resort. Very courteous and helpful staff. Made us feel like we were family.

Room didn't get cleaned til 4:00. Hotel staff at front counter was rude! The thin blanket on the bed wasn't even a blanket!

When we were researching resorts to stay at near Lahaina, we wanted a resort that was well kept, clean, updated, and on the beach. The Royal Lahaina Resort was absolutely fabulous! The grounds are spacious and very well cared for. The staff was courteous and professional to us. The room was very clean and the bed was sooo comfortable! We never heard any other guests while in our room, very quiet. The on-site restaurant had excellent food which overlooked the pool and ocean. We were really impressed with everything and would definitely stay here again!!

Staff was real friendly and helpful, just a stroll away from the beach, just know the hotel has resort fees and parking is 30 per day if you use valet parking above all the fees its a nice hotel and my family loved the pool and spa

The main hotel tower rooms are nice, not amazing, but the linens are great, and things are clean. But...the unrenovated cottages are smelly, dated and in disrepair. Yes, the cottage was clean, but there were resident funky smells, the carpets were frayed, and handles were falling off here and there. Very eighties, and not in a good way. Some of the staff are really lovely. Tourist-fatigue among locals throughout this area is widespread (who can blame them?), and the RL is no exception.

Hotel is very clean and well cared for but getting older. Easy walk to pool and ocean. Pools are small though. Great views of ocean from room and balcony to sit on.

Excellent hotel, wonderful beach, staff seems to go out of their way to be sure you are happy and having fun, best luau, hotel dinner menu is good but could be more extensive, food was excellent though

I love my stay. View of the ocean and very nice staff. Parking was very difficult though. Never anywhere to park close to the hotel.

We get to Maui on an average of once per year. This was one of the best places we've stayed, and definitely plan to stay here again.

The pull out sofa in our room was uncomfortable to sit on I guess you can't have both a comfortable couch and a pull out. The place could have used a pizza/burger place as the alternative to an expensive hotel restaurant. You couldn't hire a better staff they made us feel very special. Any thing we needed they were there for us. We also appreciated the gate guard telling us welcome home. The only other complaint is that the place could have used another hot tub. The one hot tub was usually full.

We stayed in a cottage in great proximity to the beach and the golf course. It was spacious but dated and apparently the majority are undergoing renovations ours had not.

Wondeful place, early morning stroll on the beach walk was terrific with ocean view.

This hotel looks at their guests as cash cows. Pay to park. Pay for a chair on the beach. Pay to use a floatie. Etc. etc.

Just a very short stay but the hospitality of staff is great. Regret that I had no time to enjoy the pools.

My family and I arrived at the resort very late Friday night and were greeted with big smiles and attentiveness. From that moment on, the staff was nothing but polite and helpful at every turn. It made our stay that much better knowing we always had someone who was willing to assist us in making our experience better!

We've stayed here a couple of times before and love the location. The restaurant/bar is great; food is good. But the hotel is starting to get run down. In our bathroom, the lavatory faucet was lose and dripped. The shower had mold around the tile; disgusting. Very disappointed in the upkeep because these are simple things to address. Staff is pleasant but not overly friendly.
