My stay at adonis was not comfortable at all. The bed was horrible not comfortable. Noise whole night. Being some1 quite fat i couldnt have easy access to the bathroom since it was just abt 70x70cm. The room being too old, its does give a good sense of cleanliness. I do not recommend the standard room
Nice hotel, simple but clean and quite, with very professional employees at the welcome desk. Well placed near the Vieux Port, but not too close so that it is not noisy. Small size, which makes it cosy. Not to stay in for the whole day since small, but perfect for taking a good rest in the night during a visit in the beautiful Marseille.
FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR HOLIDAYS NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL! The only thing acceptable about this called "hotel" is the location near the old port. Other than that everything is awful. The hotel is dirty everywhere: reception, bedrooms, carpets, walls... and on top the air conditioning doesn't work (I tried 2 rooms) and there was 35 degrees outside in August. When I arrived, the standard room I had already payed for 3 nights via Hotel Tonight app had no air conditioning. Instead there management had put a fan as a place holder while the a/c wasn't fixed. Of course I asked for it to be fixed immediately since it was unbearable to stay in. They told me they couldn't do anything since the technician wasn't available that day (Monday, 2pm) and they didn't have another standard room available to replace it. They proposed me a "superior room" but I had to pay 20 euros more. Having found this proposal obviously unacceptable, I asked for my money back and I would look for another hotel. That wasn't possible neither, since the room was already payed for and the manager (who decides) was out until the next day. With no alternative left I called Hotel Tonight's client service to explain the room I had payed for didn't have the a/c it was said to have at the moment of the reservation. After insisting a lot, the kind gentleman from the app, told me that he couldn't give my money back. Even though what I had payed for wasn't what I was getting. The maximum he could do was give me a 20euro credit in the app (the price difference for a "superior room") so that I could have a room with the air conditioning I had payed for. And the day after, once the manager was back the Hotel would either change me to another standard room with a functioning a/c, or let me stay in this "superior room" for the price I had already payed. I'm waiting for tomorrow to see what the manager decides once she arrives. But anyways, both the Hotel and the Hotel Tonight app had a zero customer oriented attitude without a real solution for my problem. I just wanted my money back and I would book another hotel (even more expensive) through the app... needless to say, the a/c in the "superior room" is a joke. Having it or not is tue same. Even said by the man at the reception. FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR HOLIDAYS NEVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL!
Tiny elevator, broken window, annoying heater which you cannot turn off, bad smelly bathroom, poor quality of bed and pillows, horrible wifi-connection... Despite of all those, we really appreciate the hospitality of staffs and their great help when we needed to get doctor. We experienced that they did great job for guests and tried to make our staying as comfortable as possible. All three stars are for them!
On the face of it, this hotel isn't too bad as it's in a great location and the guy at the reception desk was super nice. Once you've checked in however, that's when the real fun starts. The lift, might as well not use it, it could just about fit a small goat if you pushed it in. The room, oh what odd rooms. To quote Step Brothers - 'There's so much room for activities' came to mind, a huge empty room with two single beds in pushed together. The main issue I had with this hotel was the noice and the lack of soundproofing. We asked for quiet rooms, got put on the side with the main road, scooters whizzing by all night, not the main issue though. The main issue was the room opposite, the 'love shack' as I've nicknamed it. I could hear everything that was going on in there, and let's just say the couple must've only just got together because they really loved each other, over and over again. Fortunately I can't understand a word of French, otherwise I really would've felt like I was in the room with them. Put it this way, if you want a good nights sleep - don't stay here.
Stayed here for one night with work and was suckered by their nice pictures. Lift was tiny, bed was uncomfortable as it was just two single beds pushed together. Paid for 'superior' rooms, but the only thing superior about them was the amount of empty space. Only thing going for it was the location. Right in the middle of the city, so not far to go if you want to escape.
Everything about the hotel was compact; the lift, the corridors, the shower, the room. Only stayed for one night before moving on else where. Everything was functional but think the lack of space would have driven me mad for longer. Air conditioner unit in the room was really noisy so needed to turn it off to sleep. Woken up by next door room returning and talking outside their door. Staff were friendly enough and place was clean and use able. Missed the hotel originally as the huge sign outside it is not Adonis but Sauvage (or something simialr), so walked straight past. On closer inspection there is a small sign next to the hotel door which states it is the Adonis. Handy location but wouldn't be in a rush to return to this particular hotel. Also the wifi kicked you off if there was more than one person in the room using it
I have just returned from staying at this hotel with my boyfriend. We stayed for three nights in Marseille in order to see the EURO2016 semi final at the stadium. Our trip was highly enjoyable but the hotel was a massive disappointment, I wish I'd booked a hostel. The staff were pleasant and the place was clean. Our room was a "superior room", it was large however, I suspect that there wasn't any more furniture in it than the standard rooms, it was therefore left looking quite sparse. We were notified on arrival that there was no hot water in the hotel and were offered a free breakfast in the morning as compensation, we didn't take the breakfast as being on holiday we were out late and wanted to lie in. The next day however the water wasn't fixed and on asking each day we were eventually told, "there will be no hot water this week". As a result we didn't have a hot shower for our entire holiday, not pleasant when you've been wearing suncream and sweating. We took a free breakfast on our last day out of principle but I didn't spend €440 for a breakfast, we could have stayed in a hostel for a fraction of that and at least enjoyed hot showers each day. I understand that the hotel staff aren't engineers and therefore can't fix the hot water themselves, but even if there wasn't an issue with the water, the room wasn't worth the money I paid for it.
Perfect place to stay in Marseille. Room was clean and comfortable to live in. Although small, it has everything one may need. Bathroom was quite nice and modern. Staff were warm and welcoming. Hotel is in quite a good location- close to port. Nothing to complain about!
As we only paid €79 for the larger superior room I would call it good value. The room was clean but a bit tired despite a recent paint job. The air conditioner did not work properly and it was a very hot night. The staff were friendly and helpful. This is on a busy street but not far from the old port which is worth a visit. Marseille is a grubby and industrial town however so I would not recommend more than a lunch stop if you have a choice.
