warning to others.

check in ok. bed linen was terrible badly stained grubby. ceiling tiles stained. towels old thin holed. out side bed balcony covered with bird poo. blinds broken, well passed there sell by date. general b and b in need of a new update. very quickly. on complaint bedding was changed and balcony was cleaned to a fashion.

The room was awful! The bathroom had dust strands hanging from the extractor fan cover and mould around the edge of the bath and the plug wasn’t connected to the chain on the sink! The meal I had was awful and I ate 25% of it as it was greasy and terribly cooked and yet it’s called the ‘Cromwell massive’! Massively awful!!

Everything was ok, staff were friendly and helpful. At times I was the only one in the bar and restaurant. Food was reasonable for the price. Room was clean and spacious, bed was very comfy and bathroom very nice

We have stayed at the hotel every few weeks in the last four months to visit family living locally. Although the hotel needs a little bit of work in certain areas ie a little bit of refurbishing, we find it to be close to the high street and has private parking. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need for a short break including air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel has a restaurant downstairs and although the menu is small, the food is really tasty and reasonably priced. The breakfast is inclusive in the price and there is a good choice of cereals, fruits, fruit juices and a cooked breakfast buffet. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful and always polite. We have met Alfie, a member of staff on each occasion we have stayed and we think he is a valuable member of staff. Nothing is too much trouble for him and he can be found at the check in desk, behind the bar and helping in the kitchen. He’s always very welcoming, polite and extremely helpful, a great member of the hotels staff. Thank you to all the staff involved in the running of the hotel, you’re a great team.

Dirty

The room was dirty, dust every where, the toilet was dirty, needed some bleach. Mold, around the bath, wardrobe handle was broken, and the balcony door was left open and was really hard to shut it. The dirty room made me not want to have breakfast as I did not trust the cleanliness. I paid £100 for 1 night which I think is totally unacceptable for the state of the room. Will not be staying there again.

We have stayed here before so this influenced our choice this time. The room was very spacious and had air-con which was nice. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired though. When the beside lamps were on the thick dust on the walls and the lamp base was very clear to see, as was the cobwebs and grime in the corners of the room. The floor had not been vacuumed either. The bed base had some ominous stains running down it too. It was a real shame that the cleanliness let it down. The staff were very friendly and the check in was a breeze. The breakfast was delicious. We would stay again but the room we were in definitely needed a deep clean unlike the previous one we had which was in the main building.

After looking at the photos of the hotel and noting it had 8.2 star rating I thought this would be a good place to stay for a couple of nights. Sadly this was not the case. The hotel looks tired, the carpets are stained and flooring scratched in the main areas. Paint work needs renewing. But the biggest problem was the cleanliness or rather the lack of it. Our room was large and had some good facilities like a TV, tea and coffee and a kettle, sofa bed and sofa and a balcony. The sofa bed was ripped on the corner and the foam was showing. The leather sofa had a thick layer of dust on the top. The balcony has a net over it to stop the pigeons flying in. Fabulous, except no one had cleaned off the old faeces that was on top of the air conditioning unit or the cigarette butts which were strewn across the floor of the balcony. The bathroom was just as bad. There was black mould around the shower screen and the grouting and a hole at the back of the screen which meant the water ran out of the shower and onto the floor making it very slippery. The shower dripped continuously to the point where we had to use the noise of the air conditioner to cover the dripping noise. The radiator in the bathroom had cobwebs and dust in it. Things had obviously come off the wall and rawl plugs remained where the holes had been in all different colours. Mattress was dirty so were the pillows and linen was marked. The rainfall shower head fell on my head when I took a shower.

One bath towel in a double room for two people, general condition of the hotel was dirty and run down, asked for a extra pillow it never arrived.how this hotel is rated as number one in march on trip advisor is beyond me,I will not be taking any notice of them in the future!

All door locking systems were down for 4 days every time you came back to your room you had to get someone to let you in the hotel is under staff and your always waiting for things to happen checked in Thursday left Sunday the room was never cleaned or any fresh towels breakfast as gone from excellent to poor the sausages u are using I would not give a dog they are tasteless
