We checked in on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving for an 8-night stay. The cabin was spacious for 2 and had all the amenities you'd need.
It was near sunset, so we did not get a good view of the lake. The next morning, we were stunned by the view from the dining room (which was a fully enclosed glass room off the living room). The property is set on a hillside with two levels for seating. As it was cold, we did not take advantage of the hammock or fire pit. In season, they have two sit-on kayaks and a motorized platform/floating dock section that you can use to cruise the lake.
The caretakers told us about the steps up to the greenway/rail trail. This trail runs for miles through the woods and connects to a path through the arboretum. In the other direction, it is about a mile walk to a shopping center with a grocery store, a drug store and a pharmacy. There are 3 mountain bikes available for use.
The internet service is fine. There is a TV over the fireplace with many streaming channels.
The fireplace had a remote control can be used to control the room temperature thermostatically. The is baseboard electric heat in the bedroom and wall mounted thermostatically control heaters in the bathroom and sitting room of the kitchen. We were quite comfortable in the cabin even when the temperatures dipped below freezing at night.
If we come back to the area, we would definitely check the availability of Koi Cabin before booking something else.
