The setting is what makes the hotel feel special. It’s on the edge of a nature reserve and a peaceful atmosphere permeates the place. The dinning area is in a separate area which I found strange at first but then enjoyed the chance to breath the air. The food was good, not excellent. The rooms were average sized, very clean, the wifi was weak in the room. We were please with the laundry service. I strongly recommend taking the nature tour while staying here.

The best thing about the hotel is the ecological park on the grounds. The property is owned and maintained by the Colombian Coffee Association. We took a cable car up to the starting point of a beautiful walk through a hummingbird sanctuary, bonsai display, forest full of orchids, koi pond, and an area with three ostrich, a red deer and some sheep. Room was adequate, clean and quiet. Breakfast was good. We had to go to the lobby to get a strong wifi signal.

I loved this hotel with the exception of the hard beds. The hotel has beautiful grounds that makes for a relaxing time. Make sure to make time to visit the ecological reserve on the grounds. Stunningly beautiful with many varieties of orchids, humming bird and butterfly sanctuary, and a bonsai garden. Massages were great but used a little too much oil for my tastes. I left the massage dripping in oil.

Just outside the city of Manizales, this hotel has a lot of green areas, gym and even a Juan Valdes store. It´s very quiet and relaxing for long stays. They also have a guided tour nearby for bird watching… very recommended!

If you are looking for a quiet and secluded place this might be it. Bear in mind that it is far away from city's downtown and you'll need a cab to get there as there is no bus service nearby. Tip: tell the staff you prefer a room on the far side of the hotel. Those rooms are bigger and quieter.

This is just a business hotel. It is perfectly clean, modern, and comfortable. It is also soul-less. Though it is located within a wonderful park, you have to pay separately for the park entrance and tour so there is nothing to be gained by staying at this hotel and there is absolutely nothing located nearby. Without a car you would be stuck here. The Monday we were there the entire place was closed including the park, the Juan Valdez coffee shop, and the nursery. The girl in charge of the onsite nursery with plants for sale was basically rude and didn't understand why I would want to see the plants even though it was open hours for the nursery on Sunday! We were lucky enough to arrive in time for the tour which was fun but had we been later there would have been nothing to do at that hotel for the 2 days we were there. It is a good location for visiting Los Nevados de Ruiz national park, but there are other places closer and more fun. The restaurant at Recinto was large and empty and had very questionable choices considering that there was no way they would have 5 or 6 soups available when there were 4 guests at the hotel that night. We ate elsewhere. Cannot really recommend this for anything except a business conference!

I went last year with my boyfriend and we fell in love with the location and the service. We were so happy that we let our family know and now we all are coming back in November. I do recommend to upgrade the room for a bigger one. We are so excited to stay and go back to Colombia.

The grounds and forest around the hotel worth the visit! If you are nature lover this is the option for you in manizales. There are awesome landscapes and ecoturism attractions: birds, butterflies and bonsais gardent among others. The hotel is a little old but has everything you need. There are no air conditioning so nights can be cold. Internet is ok and there is juan Valdez cafe just for guests. Restaurant is too simple and overpriced.

The room was smaller than a cabin on a ship . We were 2 people. The room was cold and damp. The location was in the middle of no where. The scenery was beautiful around it. The breakfast was fair. I did get a floor heater from the desk since there is no air conditioning or heat in this hotel.

Hotel grounds and food are great. Rooms are a wee bit small, but in a magnificent setting. Every time a guest stays at this hotel, it is helping to support ecological research. Flora and fauna are spectacular. Hummingbirds galore. If you are an orchid lover, you will feel like you are in orchid heaven. Chairlift to the top of the mountain with a paradise of orchids and native colorful birds waiting for you. Food was excellent. The lucky ostriches from Pablo Escobar's zoo have found a great home here. A great place to stay and reconnect with nature for a couple of days.
