The St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort5.0 out of 5.0

I visited the St. Regis for 2 nights in late September. I was near the end of a 3 week vacation and wished that this stop was my last. It's definitely a gorgeous property with a luxurious feel. Upon arrival, the concierge escorted me to the terrace where a welcome drink was offered. I could have sat out there for 2 hours given the beautiful views. My assigned butler brought me to my room and gave an overview of it. The room was very spacious with a very large terrace. The only negative comments I have about the room was 2 orange stains on the carpet and a chipped wine glass and another with lipstick. This was a bit disappointing. Also, the air conditioner never kept the room cold at night. I was constantly getting up to adjust it. In regards to the overall property, I didn't eat at the hotel nor did I visit the spa. I just didn't have enough time. I stopped by the gourmet market for a wine tasting and really enjoyed sitting out on the terrace again drinking wine. I bought a few wines from the Mallorca region. I did walk down to the marina (15 minute) which had many restaurants and great shops. This hotel is a bit remote and does require a car to get to the city center or beach. That's why I consider it a great relaxation place.
Waking up to the fabulous views, in our luxurious rooms, our holiday was a 10/10.. all because of the hotel we chose. It surpassed all our expectations. A bit far from the centre, , because of being so close to the sapphire sea is totally worth it. We hired the hotel bicycles and explored the area around us. The staff were wonderful, and the weather superb! Can't wait to go back and stay here again.
4 nights of true relaxation in luxury. This is a very well thought out, very well maintained resort with service that is truly excellent. Very single staff member here was genuinely polite and eager to help. From house keeping to waitstaff to the butlers they were just great. Spending more then 100 nights a year at hotels for 20 plus years has made it clear to me that when you get consistency and excellence like this it is not an accident. Tip of the hat to the management that hires and motivates so well.
We enjoyed the luxurious hotel with outstanding friendly service, excellent food, a nice park with several swimming pools, a Spa with different Saunas and offers for beauty and fitness and last not least that you could swim in the ocean even in November, the ocean just in front of the hotel.
My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Saint Regis. Our room was large and well-equipped. The view overlooked courtyard pool and the ocean. I would highly recommend it. The food was good from tapas to breakfast. The staff goes out of their way to make everything perfect.
Hugely overpriced for what it is. Good check-in and concierge service but other than that service needed to be asked for. Food in restaurant mediocre and no real local flavour. No atmosphere at all at the hotel - Ok for young families and retired couples I guess but pretty dated facilities and a long way out of town. I still can’t believe the minibar prices - €7 fir a small soft drink. It’s an ok hotel but the prices just pretend to be something else.
We stayed in the St. Regis Mardavall as a family of three. We had a ground floor room which is great with kids as they can just walk out to the lawn and the kids club. The garden is beautiful and the facilities are spotless. Rooms are spacious and offer everything one would expect in this category. We had dinner in the restaurant at garden level, and the food was always very tasty. Worth highlighting is the kids menue, which does not only provide the usual pizza and pasta, but also delicious fish and meat dishes. Our son loved the filet steak. Most of the staff are well trained and friendly, but some areas have room for improvement: We booked a hotel limo with a child seat for airport pick-up to be sure we have a child seat. The car showed up without child seat. And charged 4x the price of taxi. Upon arrival non of the five people at reception/guest service bothered helping me with my two heavy suitcases, they just showed me where the lift is. Twice we booked taxi through reception, and in both cases no taxi was booked and the doorman had to call a taxi again. For the return to airport we booked a taxi with child seat, explicitly asking whether this was understood and confirmed. Guess what: No taxi booked at all and they had to call a car last minute without child seat. (Note: child seat is mandatory in Spain).
If you have read my past reviews of St Regis properties including Vommuli and Bora Bora you would understand why we booked the St Regis Mardavall for our first wedding anniversary. For the first time we left disappointed. The resort is very small with limited amenities, which some may prefer. Given the fact the St Regis asks and usually ensures personal preferences are met, not so much this time. We are required gluten/dairy free and all other St Regis were excellent and had the entire staff aware. Accommodations and menus were made available to us. What we received here was us continually reminding their servers that we were GF. They did however supply microwaved GF bread served in a plastic wrapper with a 400 euro meal. The staff otherwise was nice and accommodating particularly Henry. The facility itself has 1 dinner restaurant 7 nights and on 4-5 nights they add their top restaurant, which I am not sure we go to twice in one trip unless you enjoy a fixed menu and 3+ hour pricey meal. No matter how we tried to speed it up (following our long plane ride), it was not possible. Our room was good with the exception of a few malfunctions that were dealt with. The bed was very poor, no where near St Regis quality. Poor nights sleep and aching backs made it less enjoyable. The resort sits on the Med but no real beaches. There is an area you can go down to a very rocky seaside (can't use the word beach because there is none), but because its all lava, you can't really barefoot your way into the sea. There are no free water sports available via the St Regis - no snorkel equip or kayaks or anything - you have to rent it from a 3rd party company - so plan ahead. So what do you do at the St Regis Mardavall? Well outside of sitting by the pool, working out or going to the spa (which was very good) - nothing! When we asked what to do, they said we could walk down a few roundabouts to another area as there is a great bike path. We said great, where are the bikes and they said well you have to rent them from a 3rd party! We felt this was odd as we got bikes at other St Regis'. With the exception of the food at their top restaurant, which was very good, the rest of the food was ok, really nothing special at all. And when you add the fact we are gluten and dairy free, well the further menu offerings were disappointing. Given the small venue if all you are looking for is to lay by the pool, drink, eat, workout and get.massage, then go for it. if you want a little more activity added in, then maybe I would choose something different. I think their website might slightly oversell the property. As they also knew it was our anniversary, that wasn't recognized either as we experienced at other resorts The good news is Palma is very pretty and the old town is amazing with great shops and some very good restaurants. It is a 20-25 Euro ride there, but worth it.
we found the hotel very cleen and tidy especially the grounds and pool areas lovely green grass we had to cancel our visit due to ilness two days before our arrival they let me change dates to the next week, they could have charged me the full rate. we are to return again in October this year looking forward to it. staff are very polite and helpfull. very impressed with the number of pool life guards and around the kids club
Am sitting on the terrace all packed ready to leave Just had a fantastic week here Staff - to a man - have been very friendly and efficient, food excellent and the hotel itself, its setting and location are just perfect 15 mins walk to Portals Nous is recommended Not much of a beach to sit on but you can swim in the sea off the pontoon I don't have anything I can fault this hotel with Ok I didn't get my FT on one morning - that's the extent of it It is expensive but if you want the best this is it Definitely coming back here
