Hotel Rural Monnaber Nou & SPA4.0 out of 5.0

We slept a week at the annex part of the Monnaber Nou Spa. It is about 5 minutes drive from the freeway. Didn't used the spa facilities at the main building so cant judge about that, but looked tidy. The breakfast was good, with enough choice and good quality. Staff was friendly and looked like they rotate between main hotel building and the annex hotel part. One of them was a very friendly Dutch woman that lived there a couple of years. The room was spacious with a balcony that overlooked the swimming pool. It had a small minibar that was big enough to contain our own drinks. Don't come here if you can't appreciate the tranquillity.
We stayed here for a Trek Travel Mallorca Ride Camp and the hotel was everything we needed. I'm not sure if it's seasonal or just for us, but hot breakfast was definitely available and good. We had eggs, bacon, and usually something else (mushrooms, green beans, sausages, other things) along with a spread of fruit, bread, serials, and decent enough coffee. The staff were also attentive enough to provide me non-dairy options every day for my coffee! The location is rural and perfect for a cycling vacation as the iconic mountains you want to access are nearby. Trek Travel has this format solved and this is an amazing facility to match the superlative one-week (or 4-day) ride camp. Trek Travel's website description is very accurate of the top-notch experience you should expect. Rooms in the main building are more convenient, but when visiting friends at the Annex, their rooms were also very nice. The two-bedroom apartment is less nice, but has more space if you want to share space with someone with a separate bedroom. The two-bedroom apartment does not have a full kitchen though-- just an electric cooktop, sink, and microwave. Housekeeping was decent, but for some reason, never washed our dishes in the kitchen sink. The pool is unheated throughout the year. One suggestion for improvement would be, to have the hot tub actually hot. It's the same temperature as the pool, and when I called the front desk, they said that's just the temperature it is. Hmmmm. Not exactly a hot tub, but rather, a pool-tub with jets? Bottom line is: Trek Travel ride camp was amazing and the Monnaber provided an excellent base from which to launch.
Just as wonderful as previous visits, Beautiful food and views, comfortable and spacious room and splendid unobtrusive service from all the staff. Monnaber Nou is a boost to the soul. Until the next time.....
It was an amazing week at this hotel. The food was nice and the rooms were clean and comfortable. There was no problems and it was a great experience. It is two miles to the nearest village but a lovely view of mountains.
This was exactly what we were looking for in a hotel. It was in a beautiful setting with everything we needed. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. The pool was fab and so was the food. I could sit and look at the view all day long.
The most peaceful and relaxing place you can find matched by the warm and friendly Adrian and Suzy and their dedicated and committed staff. The most luxurious rooms matched by stunning landscape. heaven on earth , I cried when I had to leave. The food was an absolute delight . Don't hesitate in booking this treasure idyll. Great for a touring base, or simply a restful retreat.
We spent 11 nights at Monnaber Nou at the end of August. The weather was hot and sunny. We arrived late at night so couldn't see the wonderful setting until the morning. Stunning! The ample breakfasts were appreciated. The food was fresh and well cooked and presented. We would have liked to have seen a little more variety in the fresh veg, but this is not sufficient to denote a negative. A rental car is necessary to explore from this location. Though if you are only going for a short break there is plenty to see round about on foot. The tranquility of the hotel is a great plus. There isn't the live music and irritating karaoke of the more central locations. If you enjoy nightlife this is not for you. The rooms were clean and fresh and towels were replaced as required. The beds in The Garden Annex (room 300) are firm! The swimming pools are not huge but more than adequate for the hotel size. There are pools at main house and at Garden Annex, as a resident you are permitted to use both. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We especially thank Miranda while being heavily pregnant was a real help, lovely girl. Mathias was often on hand to give advice and service and always with a smile. All the staff who helped out at meal times etc were pleasant, friendly and engaged in conversation. The staff only added to our enjoyable holiday. We have no hesitation in recommending Monnaber Nou. We look forward to another visit soon.
Beautiful spa hotel in a stunning location. Our room was situated in the original part of the building and the views across the valley were amazing. Very friendly and attentive staff, highly recommended.
We just stayed here for a fortnight, returning customers of many years (I think our 4th time in 12 years). The house and the setting remain beautiful; our rooms were in the annexe house and they were clean, basic but everything we wanted and expected. The air con is good (it needed to be as it was baking hot!) although the rest of the house is very warm during the day. The new pool is nice, although lacks some shade and feels a little unfinished. I wish they kept the gardens a bit more in order but that's a minor thing. The major issue at the hotel is the quality of service. They don't have the finesse and class (or training?) of other similar establishments that we have stayed in on the island. We like to eat in the morning on the terrace in the main house, however breakfast was on occasions shambolic, rarely stocked well. There were either no plates or no glasses or no hot water or no tea bags or no hot food. The staff were constantly managing the next issue. For some reason (costs?) they don't employ a chef in the morning and this shows. We put up with it for a while before we mentioned it to management. They attempted to make it better but tried to please us by serving us things rather than looking at the management of the service. It needs some leadership and organisation and this is sadly missing. One morning we ate at the annexe house. This is not as pleasant an environment to eat but seems to be better stocked. However, whilst enjoying my final cup of tea, the lady who worked there decided to spray the inside area with ant spay which meant sitting where I was became impossible with the fumes... Pool service at the annexe can be very slow as everything comes from the main house pool - again frustrating when they seem to have a decent kitchen there too - more cost cutting? It has been commented before but I will say it again - the terrace in the main house is an amazing place to have a beer and I do not understand why they don't make more of it and have a full bar set up. You have to go and find a server and again this just lacks the class of other finca style hotels who do this better. All in all a pleasant holiday but we all decided we probably won't return again. The quality of service over the years has declined. It's a shame as it used to be a very classy establishment that was very well run. Maybe some fresh ideas and new management might revitalise it a bit...
I stayed at Monnaber Nou back in May as part of a cycling tour. This hotel is in the perfect location to use as a base camp for some of Mallorca's best cycling routes. The hotel itself is beautiful, there is a large selection for breakfast, the dinner menu as well was great. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. I definitely will return back to this hotel on my next trip to Mallorca.
