We stayed for a week at this lovely hotel. The staff are friendly & make you feel welcome. Food is excellent with a great menu choice. Our room was spotless & spacious just a pity we had no balcony so found it hard to dry swimwear & the sunloungers were not very comfortable. Overall though we had a great time the location is great & the resort is fabulous, would definately go back.

Lovely short break to visit friends, we were upgraded to a balcony sea view free of charge. Food was good and the service excellent. A 30 min walk from the center of Puerto pollensia but good to be slightly away from the lively town

As the title says, I cannot fault this hotel. The hotel is incredibly clean and finished to a magnificent standard and the decor is a stunning hybrid between classic and modern. The staff are arguably the best at any hotel or resort I have ever stayed at; they are more than willing to help you and are very polite and courteous. The reception staff are friendly and speak many languages to cater for the needs of people from all across the globe. They cannot do enough to make you feel at home. The bar staff are also wonderful and charming. The bar food and restaurant food was brilliant all around. The burger that you can get at the bar during the day is arguably one of the best burgers I have ever had. The cocktails are very high quality, too. The stunning harbour side bar is definitely one of the hidden gems of Port de Pollenca The spa and pool areas are extremely clean. The spa has a very fresh and open feel, with magnificent facilities, and relaxing music and lovely seating areas. The outdoor pool could be a little bigger, but it suits the size of the hotel. Now onto the best part of this beautiful hotel; the location. The location is absolutely stunning, situated towards the end of the bay of Port de Pollenca. It is out of the way, but at the same time, it is only a 10-15 minute walk to the main port. The fact that it is right up the end makes it a very tranquil and calm place to be, and it is very quiet at night. The private Illa d'Or beach is a mere 15 steps from the beach side entrance, and there are plenty of sun loungers and easy access to the sea, which is warm and welcoming. The views from the rooms along the front of the hotel (we stayed on the first floor, premium sea view room) are stunning - you wake up and open your curtains to the sea every morning. I definitely recommend staying in one of these rooms on the first floor - we had rooms 115 and 116 and could not fault them. Overall, the Illa d'Or is an absolutely stunning hotel, and I would not hesitate to book this beautiful place again.

We stayed here recently (August) for the twelfth time in as many years. The hotel decor gets progressively better each year and the staff, many of whom we have known for some years, were as friendly and efficient as ever. The food was excellent and the wine list seems to get longer and better as time goes on. An obvious change to the rooms, at least the one that we had, was the addition of tea/coffee making facilities. But.... the always small pool area was sometimes invaded by children and adults from the nearby beach (nothing to do with the hotel) and the apartments at the back of the hotel (which have their own pool facilities). Better policing of the area, and perhaps the fitting of a keycard-operated gate, would sort this out. We suggested this to management, but it remains to be seen whether this will happen. Another problem was the use of lilos and other inflatables, despite a notice to the contrary. To be fair, when we pointed this out, they were removed, but for how long, we wonder? Finally, we wonder whether the hotel is now over-priced for what it offers. Including drinks (not excessive!) and a light lunch every day, in addition to our half-board, our bill for 10 days was over £4,000 and we were not even staying in a premier room. We will have to consider very seriously whether or not we can continue to visit what has always been one of our favourite hotels.

Perfect location. Would consider staying here but a bit worried about where the sun lies on sunbeds round the pool...!? But the harbour side bar is to die for. Walk to it. Just lovely We only found it on our last day

What a find! This beautiful hotel is situated on the sea at the far end of the bay at Puerto Pollensa. We had 5 tranquil days here. The hotel is lovely, the setting perfect and every single member of staff was charming and couldn't do enough to help. Lazy days sat by the sea and swimming in the warm, clear water, evening cocktails at the bar watching the sun set before strolling in to town for dinner. Perfect! Like many other guests, I'm certain we'll be back!

Illa d'Or means Isle of Gold and a gold service is what you get. It is difficult to add anything new to what has already been said by others about this excellent hotel. We had a week here on only our second trip to Majorca and were delighted with the hotel from the moment of arrival. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is of a high standard for cleanliness and decor. I agree with some reviews which mention the small size of the rooms but for us this was compensated by the large balcony. We were on a bed and breakfast deal and found the breakfast to be first class, plenty of eggs, bacon and sausage and even hash browns plus as much fruit and cereals as you could eat. Eating outside was a pleasure but occasionally we found it easier to eat inside because sometimes there was a small queue for a table on the terrace. We did not dine at the hotel for there are many restaurants to choose from in the town just 10 mins away on foot. Anyway it was a delight to amble along the pine walk at the water's edge on our way for a meal. The bay of Pollenca is very sheltered and has the appearance of a large lake rather than the open sea, consequently the water is usually very calm. The pool is very pleasant and ideal for adults who want a quiet swim we found it all very relaxing. We really enjoyed this hotel and would certainly stay here if we were to stay in Port de Pollenca again, which seems likely!

This is not my first time in Mallorca. I have been going there over the last 5 years and although I have visited Pollenca on many occasions I had yet to stay in the port. The Port of Pollensa (or Pollenca) is located to the north west of the Island. It is reasonably near to the resorts of Alcudia, Playa de Muro and Sa Vincenc where we have stayed before. We hired a car from Palma airport and transfer time was about 45 minutes to get to the hotel which is located to the north east end of the port. With the aid of google maps it was quite straight forward. The first issue was no allocated parking when we got there. The hotel does not have parking per se. However there is plenty of parking on the street outside and nearby. Finding a spot during high season can be a little tricky. However this is a minor point. The hotel is an old family home which was extended over the years into what it is now. We were met at reception by very friendly and approachable staff who were extremely helpful. Where possible we tried to converse in Spanish but there are a number of staff who speak fluent English. The hotel is split into two sections...the hotel on the sea front and the apartments across the road behind the hotel. I am specifically reviewing the hotel as we weren't allowed access to the apartments which has its own pool and tennis court. We stayed in a double room which was sea facing. This was on the the top (4th) floor. The room was beautifully decorated in a beachcomber shabby chic style. The only downside about the room was that it was a little on the small side. There was also no balcony on our room but floors lower down had this. The beds were extremely comfortable and the air condition was more than adequate to keep us cool. Tv was available in the room with a range of European channels. Hotel facilities were excellent. The pool was adequate for the hotel with about 15-20 beds however the majority of people staying at the hotel opted for the sunbed terrace on the 'beach front'. There isn't really a beach by the hotel although a short walk down towards the centre of the port you will find some excellent beaches. There is also a spa in the hotel with sauna, steam room and an indoor pool. There is also a basic gym on the property. Beauty treatments are also available from the onsite salon. There is one main restaurant in the hotel where breakfast is taken. There is an option for breakfast to be taken outside by the sea front. In the evening this same sea front dining area becomes a second outdoor restaurant. We opted for half board. The breakfast choice was fantastic with a decent selection of hot and cold options. The evening meals were also very good. It was not a buffet in the evening as we were expecting but an a la carte offering with the menu changing every night. There were certainly no complaints from us about the food. If you are half board you get a 12.50 Euro credit per person for the outdoor restaurant. There is a dress code for the evening indoor restaurant. Essentially for men, trousers and no flip flops. The waiting staff were very good and very patient when trying out my best Spanish. I would say this hotel is aimed more at adults than children. If you do have young kids I would recommend looking more at Playa de Muro where there are some fantastic beaches on your doorstep and more of a 'resort' theme. All in all We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. If we were to come back to Pollenca again (likely) then we would stay at this hotel again but would opt for a room with a balcony.

We have just had one week in this hotel and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Fantastic location, well maintained and very chilled. Fantastic staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Idyllic location for meals and drinks - breakfast taken next to the sea! Will definately be back.

Beautiful charming hotel, very nicely located right on the beach with an amazing view to La Fortaleza and the Bay! The only downside is that there is no real outdoor pool area, except one in another building which is neither nice nor to the standard of the main hotel.
