The hotel is very well situated in the centre of Cala Bona . As I have said before I can tell when a hotel is dirty but my wife can tell when a hotel is clean. She gives it full marks. The hotel was extended and refurbished last year and it shows. Everything is up to a very high standard and the walk-in shower is to die for. The dining area is small and the range of food on offer is limited. Even so, the food you get is of a very high standard and the restaurant staff faultless We are here at the moment and due to return in September and I am looking forward to it. On the negative side is the toilet. No lavatory brush in the room, never seen that before. There are no communal toilets in the hotel so one has to use the lavatory for the pool. Only two, one ladies and one gents (I mean one), at night when there are hundreds at the show this is a problem. To add insult to injury there are no hand drying facilities. No blower, no towel, or tissues. To sum up, you will have a good holiday here and we will also have a good one in September if the weather is as good as this week's heatwave.
Recently refurbished hotel in an excellent central location. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable, but as so many have mentioned, lack drawer or shelf space. The bathroom is well appointed with a large walk-in shower. Facilities include fridge, kettle, hair dryer, flat screen tv (with all the major uk channels ) and air conditioning. There is a small charge for the safe (approx €3/day). The restaurant offered a very good variety of good quality hot and cold food for breakfast and dinner. A bottle of house wine €14. There is a large pool area and sun terrace with ample sunbeds. The pool itself is easily accessed by wide steps and handrail with a separate children's pool. All the staff in hotel were friendly and helpful with a special mention to Pedro who was always very welcoming in the restaurant. The evening entertainment was popular with hotel residents and others from the resort, therefore it got quiet busy and ordering drinks could be a long process. The hotel has two blocks, WiFi in the second accommodation block is a bit hit and miss but ok in reception and around the pool. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Atolon (arrived home 20/6/17) Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Rebecca on reception, nothing was too much trouble for her. Only complaint would be lack of storage space, Not much hanging space, and no drawers !!! Even bedside cabinets with a drawer in each would be a help, but it's just little tables. I would also like a grab rain in the shower, people of "a certain age" need something to hang on to when in the shower. The food was very good, always a good selection, from smoked salmon to sirloin steak. I don't know who steffiemob was talking about in Stanley's Tearoom, we always found the staff to be very friendly, including Mark himself, and the sandwiches and quiche are all very fresh. I don't know why he was looking for free wifi, I had free wifi, and I was also in the annexe. I have already booked for October 2017 and am looking to book again for June 2018.
lovely hotel has been totally refurbished since our last visit 3 years ago..great location and good food. staff are very friendly and helpful..rooms are comfortable although they could do with some drawer space.instead of little bedside tables better to have a small drawer unit.
We are currently staying at the Atalon in Cala Bona. Where do i begin. We arrived and were told that we would be in a separate building opposite the hotel, something that we had been dreading after reading reviews. On this occasion the reviews were wrong. The rooms were light and airy and cleaned daily. The communal corridor was, granted a bit grubby but in all fairness people are walking in with wet clothes on etc so this is to be expected. We are on the ground floor with a small patio and garden with our own sunbeds. Too hot!! Fridge and kettle in the room are a God send. If I was being picky, would like a bit more storage space free WiFi. Pedro and Co in the restaurant are all so lovely and lili who cooks in the morning in such heat al ways has a smile on her face. The food is all good. People say it is repetitive but there is all the usual things for breakfast and evening meals are always a good selection Rebecca on reception very helpful. Swimming pool is in a beautiful setting with a view across the beach. The hotel is in a lovely location with outside entertainment every night. Try Maria's bar for the best cocktails and only 3.50 euros each. Thalassa for a night cap. Wouldn't bother with Stanley's, the lady in there is incredibly rude. My sister and brother in law are staying at the hotel Cala Bona and have done for many years but will be staying at the atalon in 2018. The only thing is that the prices for this time in 2018 have increased significantly which is a pity. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Booked with Jet 2 Holidays. Hotel Atolon refurbished last year to a very good standard. The rooms were clean and the wetroom was spotless. Only drawback is that there were no drawers for your undies, but using the suitcase on the stand was fine. Bonus was having a fridge and kettle in the room, obviously catering more for the British. The main block and pool area are lovely. Never had a problem finding a sun bed. Bar area and entertainment area (outside entertainment only) was ample and prices reasonable for a hotel. However Nelsons Bar around the corner, opposite "The Pub" was a lot more reasonable, and lovely place to while away the evening if you didn't like the entertainment at Atolon. Good choice of food, and very well cooked, could be kept a bit warmer, but that depends on what time you dine. The hotel is situated right on the border of Cala Bona and Cala Millor - Two minutes either way and you're in the respective resort. Cala Bona is lovely resort, small but with a lovely harbour and restaurants. Cala Millor is larger and a lot more lively, mainly German holiday makers. I would definitely recommend this place
Just returned from Cala Bona Majorca staying at the Hotel Atolon - what a find ! This hotel is brilliant, the staff are really, really nice, very helpful and friendly, can't do enough for you. The hotel has been refurbished and has a lovely light and airy feel, the food was excellent great choice and well cooked and even British bacon. The bedrooms are very nice, we had a sea view which was fab. Pool area is really nice not over crowded and situated right on the sea front with spectacular views. Good entertainment in the evening and is all outdoors, but there are lots and lots of bars close by, most of them with entertainment. On speaking with other residents , many were returning visitors. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.
Just returned from a stay in Hotel Atolon with three friends, we are all a little Mature but still enjoy to party. Hard to fault our stay: Location perfect, food Buffett style but very good, rooms simply furnished with good air conditioning, daily cleaning and a kettle for the early morning cuppa. Entertainment Cruise Ship standard, great staff, drinks average hotel prices for the area but to be noted they serve top branded products and give generous measures. Big 'Thank You' to Rebecca on reception for all her help and to all the staff for excellent service.
The Hotel Atolon is different, there is a main reception building with rooms above and across the path cycle track an annex. There aren't many rooms in the main building most are opposite. Our room 511 was on the 3rd floor in the annex looking out onto a service road and a cafe, if you look out from the balcony you have a side sea view and can watch the evening entertainment from the balcony. The room was modern in style, with air conditioning, very comfy beds. As others have said there isn't any draw space, there is a cupboard for hanging clothes but not much area for other items, a small shelf next to the safe with another below, not ideal. There are two small bedside tables, but no draws. Kettle and mugs provided but no sachets of tea and coffee so bring your own. There is a small fridge but don't buy big litre bottles they will not fit. The bathroom was a good size, shower was brilliant and always hot. There is no storage space for toiletries, this wasn't a huge problem just kept items as packed in their bags. Clean towels daily. The pool is nice it has ladder entry at one end and easy steps with handrail the other end. A children's pool is also available. Sun beds as usual were reserved with towels and were there all day even when not occupied! but we always got one but maybe not in the perfect position. It gets very windy as the pool in right on the sea front, Parasols have to be down when very windy. The bar is outside near the pool and outside on the sea front there is entertainment nightly. It can get very busy and the staff work so hard getting drinks. The entertainment were tribute acts. One of which was cancelled due to bad weather. The restaurant is very light and again has a modern feel it is also air conditioned, a lovely view out across the sea. Sit where you like and help yourself to food, which was very good indeed with friendly staff. Can be a little crowded at times as it is fairly small. A nice family run hotel recently refurbished in the very best position in Cala Bona. Give it a try you wont be disappointed. Thank you Atolon for a lovely holiday.
Reception staff very helpful and English speaking. The hotel creates a very friendly atmosphere amongst its visitors. As said in other reviews the rooms are clean but furnished with the basics,if located in the annexe the best rooms are road facing.Food in the restaurant is of a very good standard although in my opinion of limited choice.Special mention for Patricia in the outside bar who told me she loved her job and this shows by the permanent smile for everybody she serves, a real asset to this hotel.Sunbed availability not a problem even when busy.Superior location and ambience, if you don't like this place it's time to give up going on holiday.
