I love the atalon. Have been going for about the last 8 years if not more. As far as I'm concerned the hotel has the best spot in cala bona/ cala millor. Right on the sea front with excellent views from rooms, restaurants and pool area. Rebecca and staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is top class 😜 Best views ever from the full frontal seaview rooms. The hotel has been recently refurbished but I loved it even before the refurbishment as its all about the location and view for me. Booking up again for may and may sneak in another stay before end of year 👍
Our usual hotel in Cala Bona was unavailable. However, one of my friends whose sister stays in the area recommended the Atolon to me as he often stays in it when visiting her. I am glad to say that his recommendation was spot on and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We decided to pay extra for a sea view room in the main hotel building and it was well worth it for the views alone. The rooms are spotlessly clean with comfortable beds, large tv, fridge, kettle and a terrific walk in shower ( no bath) in the bathroom. The only minor grouse is that storage space in the bedrooms is a bit limited. The hotel boasts a lovely pool area with plenty of sun beds and a pool bar and is beautifully maintained. There is a very nice restaurant which can be slightly on the small side at busy times. However, the food is very good and caters for all tastes both at breakfast and dinner. Finally, the staff are all very friendly and a credit to the hotel. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and look forward to staying here again.
Having visited the area in August 2017, we decided to go back again for a short break in October. This time we stayed in the Atolon, in the main block facing the sea. It's a small hotel but has everything you need. The rooms are small, but no space is wasted. The shower/bathroom is quite small but again it serves it's purpose. The balcony is large enough for 3 or 4 people to sit on and watch the world go by, whilst the waves lap against the shore in front of the hotel. The rooms are cleaned daily, with towels replaced too. The rooms are still fresh looking from the makeover last year, bright and airy. The breakfast buffet was excellent and is served from 8 - 10am in a bright and airy dining area, again recently refreshed in a clean white decor. The food was very tasty and although not a huge selection, it was of good quality. It was particularly nice to see 'proper' thick English bacon on offer rather than that streaky stuff! The food was generally hot, but the small 'English breakfast' selection was not kept warm unlike the rest of the hot food, so it would go cold if not immediately gobbled up once cooked! Cereals, fruit, cakes, yogurt and toast were also available. The beakfast drinks selection was adequate, with hot drinks seved from a machine, but very tasty all the same. The cold drinks were a small selection of watered down orange or fruit juice. Bit of a shame there as citrus fruit is usually readily available in the Med. There is a small outside pool, across the paved walkway and right by the sea. Plenty of beds available and a large seating area for the snacks and drinks being served. The staff were all pleasant, dealing with any queries promptly. This time, we travelled with my in laws as they had not been back to to Majorca for quite some years and wanted to see if it was as good as we had previously lead them to believe. They were not disappointed and will be going back again! Overall, a lovely stay in an excellent hotel in a great position, equally suited for ambling along to the marina in CalaBona or to the beach at Cala Millor.
This is the first time I have been to this hotel and I would go back there tomorrow. The views from the pool are amazing. The hotel was renovated in 2016 and has made a lot of difference. Not having been to this hotel before but have been to Cala Bona several times of the past 40 years to different hotels along the sea front I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The evening entertainment is in my opinion excellent. There is plenty of seating for at least 200 people which was filled one night. The bar staff are excellent with waiter/waitress service all very friendly. The food for breakfast and evening meal is excellent too in my opinion, but you always get someone complaining. There are plenty of sunbeds for all if they are full there are always chairs to sit in. The only bug in this review is a bar at the back of the hotel which is very very loud by the DJ on several nights not a Spanish one an English one. One night it was past 1.30 in the morning before it went quiet then the patrons decided to make noise themselves till 2-3a.m. I am not an early bird to bed but this a bit much 4-5 nights out of a week. I don't know how they get away with it being residential above the bar. Apart from that a good place to stay plenty of places to walk too. You can walk right along the promenade and it is flat. You can also high a bike ride along the front it is about 1 1/2 miles I would say.
Just arrived home after a 5 night break at the Atolon. Where to begin......The hotel is great. The food is amazing and the staff are so accommodating. Lovely pool area overlooking the oceon which is perfect. The lady chef at breakfast cooks the perfect omelette, she actually cooks the ingredients you choose first before adding it to the omelette. They are huge! Juan the evening chef cooks an amazing stir fry which I had every night. Again, you choose all the ingredients you want and there is a great choice. I definitely got my 5 a day in plus much more. As it was half board we took some fruit and pastries for lunch which the staff didn't seem to mind. This is definitely not a 18-30s destination. We noticed that there seemed to be mainly young couples with babies, elderly folk or there are a lot of cyclists go. It's definitely very cyclist friendly. The streets are in the main pedestrianised but you do have to remember to look right and left before crossing a cycle path because they do have the right of way. Some folk did have a gripe about the size of the rooms. Yes they are small if you're there with a family but it's fine for 2. Also, you don't have drawers for clothes - just shelves but I really didn't mind. If you like to keep on top of what's happening In the world there are large tv's in the rooms, a kettle and hairdryer so you don't need to tame these with you. The entertainment is outside but it was cancelled one night because of the weather, there isn't anywhere inside to have entertainment. All in all we had a great stay.
Second visit to this hotel reception staff are excellent as are the staff in the resteraunt breakfast very good evening meal should start at 7 pm and in the two weeks we were there this happened very rarely we were kept waitingoutside sometimes for 10 minutes until Pedro decided to open the doors very annoying as then it felt like a free for all with everyone rushing in Not much room in between tables and the soup is definately in the wrong position an accident waiting to happen food was lovely though could have been hotter loction is what this hotel is all about fantastic sea views we had a room in main annexe overlooking the sea fabulous but comes at a cost Rooms clean beds comfy TV good stations but kept breaking up on occasions entertainment outside every evening tribute acts some great others less so open to non residents as well Never had a problem getting sunbeds however in peak time could be a problem as we witnessed some people coming for a drink outside and then using the beds and we know they were not residents at the hotel this needs checking All in all a good hotel there have been complaints about lack of drawers in rooms but this was easily remeded we took our own collapsable canvas drawers bought quite cheaply and weighing hardly anything and worked perfactly for us we would use this hotel again and thanks to all the staff for a good holiday
This was our 2nd visit our our now favourite hotel in Cala Bona. We stayed for a week and had a room in the back block opposite Stanley's. This was a noisy spot as daily the service vans collect/drop right outside, unavoidable I know but it did irritate on the mornings we would have liked a lie-in! The rooms are minimalistic and some folks were complaining about lack of drawers. We managed for our week and there are plenty of hangers/shelves. The beds are very comfy having a memory foam top layer, but the fitted sheets have shrunk since our last visit I think! The maid said they are all the same. They pop off of the corners every night and end up in a tangle, very annoying! Good choice of UK channels on the TV. Plenty of towel changes and pool towels can be hired. Fridge and kettle are a lovely bonus. Room safe can be hired. Food fantastic as last time and all staff so very welcoming and helpful. Pool was lovely and clean - a bit chilly but just get under and enjoy!! Setting is fantastic and the daily views are stunning, never tire of sitting by the pool watching the yachts and day trip boats. Plenty to do in this area and will return again next year. Thanks to all at the Atolon.
Stayed for a week in early October. The hotel occupies a great position on the sea front and has the best pool area overlooking the sea of all the hotels in Cala Bona. First impressions of reception area were good. Light, modern and airy with an excellent sea view. Check-in was friendly and efficient. We booked two double rooms and both had the same minimalist scandi style white décor. Comfy beds, fridge, kettle, hairdryer and a spacious shower. A safe is available for a daily fee. Enough hanging area in the open wardrobe, but just single floating shelves at the bedside. TV was a decent size. Balcony sufficient for a small table and two chairs. The hotel was very clean throughout. Food was a pretty reasonable standard although usually luke warm. Desserts were far better than the usual Spanish hotel experience. The dining room is very pleasant, however, the servery areas need a re-think. Its a all bit logistically awkward. Never a problem getting a sun bed and pool towels can be hired for refundable fee on return. The entertainment happens outside and provides great views of the acts and dance area. We saw a smashing Temptations tribute whilst there. Would definitely stay again if the right deal was available.
Returned last week from our second visit to this lovely hotel. We were in the annexe this time which is fine, the rooms are nice and the beds are really comfortable, however the fitted sheets could do with being a little bit bigger, as they kept coming off the mattress. It was nice to have a kettle in the room and English channels on the television, although our tv kept breaking up, which made it impossible to watch some programmes. The food is excellent with plenty of choice. All the staff do a really good job and were very attentive. We loved the entertainment on at night, especially ABBA and Elvis! Cala Bona is a lovely resort and Hotel Atalon is in an ideal location. We loved walking along to the harbour on a night, there always seemed to be something going on. We will definitely be returning.
Just returned from my second visit to Hotel Atolon, and once again, I had a great time. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The Hotel is very clean and comfortable, would have liked a grab rail in the shower and a bit more storage space (drawers) in the bedroom, but I've already booked for next June, counting the days already. Thanks again Rebecca and everyone else xx
