This is a seriously lovely place to stay. I was last spotted in Mallorca with the onset of house music in 1987 - I had very low expectations but thought I'd give it a go for the 5 year old's school Easter holidays. I booked a "comfortable" room but received an upgrade to a perfect room with sea view - spotless, completely spotless, well designed, well equipped kitchen area, powerful shower, bathroom goodies, TV with several English channels, amazing view, washing up liquid, hairdryer, clothes maiden, large terrace......etc Fabulous location right next to sea, outdoor pool area is lovely, indoor pool area even better given the time of year. I have a very fussy 5 year old so was exceptionally pleased with the breakfast - I can't think of anything missing - every kind of drink/fruit/cereal/bread/cake/egg/bacon/pancake/sausage etc etc - wonderful. Location wise was perfect for us - literally 2 minute walk to the prom & the start of the harbour/beach/restaurants etc of Palmanova. It is not in the thick of bar action & pretty quiet of an evening but that suited us. There has been some bad reviews about the staff on tripadviser - while there were a couple of frosty faces these people did a fine job even if they were a ;little 'formal'. Of note, Angel, who ran the restaurant, and Cherie and an american who were on night reception were lovely & helpful. There is also a well stocked supermarket within the hotel & prices are even cheaper than outside supermarkets. I can't praise this hotel highly enough, we had a fantastic stay & would like to return one day.

Came here last Friday for my hen do and I couldn’t believe how lovely the hotel was. The rooms were lovely and plenty of space, also the pool area was lovely. The spa was a great option when the weather wasn’t so great with pool, sauna and steam room at no extra charge. Throughout the hotel it was clean and tidy and all but one staff member were extremely welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The member of staff that was not accommodating needs to definitely work on his customer service skills or would recommend him finding another job. Even though we found the funny side he certainly needs to up his mannerisms towards his customers even if he is doing more than one job at once. Overall I had a throughly enjoyable time and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Majorca. Would definitely love to return some time soon xx

Very Nice hotel, with good kitchens, rooms and terracces facing the ocean. Good restaurants, bar and pool! Nice and quite but you can still walk to lots of restaurants and bars! The beach is right next to! And they have tabletennis and pooltables outside!!;-)

The hotel location, staff & meals are wonderful. However, there are major renovations going on at the hotel. I imagine it will be another couple of months before the renovations are complete. So there was a great deal of noise in the rooms off and on between approximately 10 am and 6 pm. Others mentioned this noise as well. So enjoying the room can be less than relaxing at times. This was my only complaint about the hotel.

Since 1997 I have stayed at the Ponent Mar during each of our subsequent 13 trips to Majorca. There is no hotel I would rather stay. The rooms, food, lounge, service and desk are staffed by career employees and couldn't be much better. Highly recommended!

Very impressed at first sight with my room, 432, it was spacious and looked like it has been recently renovated. Two twin beds pushed together and a big day bed for a third person if required. Big LCD TV with a good choice of channels but the reception on some of them is very poor. Little dining table and 3 chairs and a decent sized closet. A small kitchenette with a fridge, sink and microwave complete the room. There is a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs with a view of the sea and coast. The bathroom appears to have also been recently renovated has a shower, toilet and vanity. Upon closer inspection or use of the room the initial impression faded a little, the shower is very narrow and a grab bar in it reduces the width. The shower controller was very temperamental and I found it hard to get a good temperature and pressure. The bathroom had plenty of space but they have crammed the toilet so close to the shower that made it awkward to sit straight. The bathroom has a sensor light and comes on when you enter it but also goes off when you are in the shower as it can’t detect any movement and plunges the room into complete darkness which required opening the shower door and waving your arms about 2 or 3 times during a shower. In the room was a card reminding you about security and what to do yet while the door to the balcony could be locked the sliding window next to it had a broken lock and couldn’t be locked leaving the room unsecure. I mentioned this to the front desk and they sent the maintenance man up who installed a pin which secured the window. The hotel is located in a quiet area and has magnificent views and a big and very busy pool which has equally amazing views yet it closes at 7pm which I thought was a little too early given that this was a resort. The hotel is only a short distance from Palmanova and Magaluf and had free parking which is always a bonus. A really nice self-catering choice on this part of the island.

Good location and nice outdoor pool area with beautiful view. The room was ok, had a funny smell though, but clean. The view from the room however was very disappointing, and no sun at all on terasse - make sure to reserve sea view! Ponent mar is a good place for families w kids - i found it a bit too big and pricey - also you get charged for wifi per unit, per day. Super expensive. The 2 beaches nearby is within walking distance and you can get to palma w bus in app 40 min (busstop close to hotel). All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

While the reception was excellent, the service and quality of food at the restaurant was mediocre, except for the “international” and the “Catalan” nights, when the fare was great. A good set of amenities (large swimming pool) and a small beach down the cliff, reachable by stairs. The room was comfortable and quiet, too bad some very unruly and noisy kids were left unattended by their British parents and kept disturbing the guests past midnight and littering the hotel grounds and hallways with no apparent challenge by the management. Great views from the rooms and the pool

Stayed for 4 days with my family of 3 kids(8, 12, 14) in a superior apartment with sea view. The room was big and clean, but the furniturs are not up to date. The breakfast contains hot food like scramble eggs, bacon, pancakes and bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals and a lot of pastries. I loved to sit on the terass with a wonderful view of the pool area and the ocean for breakfast. The pool was nice and clean, but the ladder to get down was unstable. Lot of sunbeds and a lunch restaurant with a marvelous view. The food was OK at the lunch restaurant and we had dinner one night, but the dinning area was not that great so we went to other restaurants that was just a few minutes walk away. Don't miss the beach just infront of hotel. It was slippery so be careful or use shoes in the water, but it was great when you was in the water. Good hotel for big families.

Spent a week here riding with Stephen Roche. Thought accommodations, food and service were excellent. Not 5 star, but definitely what it’s billed as. Lots of kids which may be a turn off to some. Beautiful setting and scenery. Easy access to ocean for swimming. Very clean. Rooms are efficiency units.
