We were at a wedding here in May. Fabulous hotel, fabulous food, fabulous rooms and wonderful staff. The breakfast...best hotel breakfast I have ever had! Such an amazing selection and even a champagne/mimosa station. Would 100% return!
We did not stay at the hotel but popped in to see if they could accommodate 3 of us at the spa - from the lovely kind polite professional receptionist to the amazing massage to follow - this slowly became one of the best parts of our holiday. I had a massage with Alexandria who was amazing!!! Best massage I have ever had! I highly recommended. Spa facilities good too
On arrival the lady on check in offered me various upgrades, managers specials and so on. We had a meeting at the hotel and due to delayed flight we were running an hour late. So I said to the lady at check in 'don't worry I will check in following our meeting. 10 minutes later my meeting was interrupted with another manager 'one off' today only special. I repeated my original request 'I'll check in once I have finished'! I attended the desk around 90 mins later and I was told I had a complete sea view room even though I had booked a standard, at this stage I just signed and went to the room!! The room was of course not a seaview room and after all the hassle was my original room!?!?! Previous reviews had claimed that the staff had made their stays well that was not the case to us. The lady running the bar during the afternoon was just rude!!! Read some of my other reviews I give credit when it is due she was just rude!! Couple of highlights - the breakfast outstanding and the young lady who sat us was really professional and had a sense of humour to boot.
Amazing day, everyone who worked there went out their way to make sure our Valentine's Day was very special. The facilities are excellent and the massage was the best I've ever had! We had the Valentine's spa offer and it was worth every penny. Thank you! We will be coming again.
Being in search for the sun, we chose our holidays in Costa del sol and we booked at the Kempinski for 5 days. It's perfect and we couldn't ask for more!!! The location is just near the beach and it's convenient for a walk after dinner. The swimming pool is nice but at this time of the season there is only one heated. I tried the one not heated and it is cold as ice!!! There is also a swimming pool for children and we took our son playing there. Everything is made for us to feel comfortable and we would like to thank all the staff member for their warm welcome. The wifi is excellent and we can use it everywhere even at the beach.
The room was very quiet with a beatiful view, and most of all the confortable bed. The staff were all very serviceminded and pleasant. The breakfast was excellent. The porters were fantasticly helpful.
stayed at the Kimpinski for a week over new year and loved everything about it.The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Our room was lovely with a fabulous view of the gardens and sea. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return. The food was incredible especially the New Year's Day brunch and the fireworks display was amazing.
After 8 nights touring Andalucia's cultural cities/highlights we wanted to spend our last 2 nights in a relaxing hotel (close to Airport) with Spa/Leisure facilities and so we choose the Kempinski based on Tripadvisor reviews. We were not dissappointed. Check in/Checkout - very efficient. Room (811) was really great. Leisure facilities were fine (we were off season and the hotel was quiet). There are plenty of bars and restaurants a few hundred metres down the beach (La Laguna). We choose to dine in San Perdo on our first night and the taxi fares cost €20 going and €28.50 return). We went to San Pedro the following day to watch a Rugby game and got the bus up (circa €1.70 one way). I would certainly recommend the Kampinski for a relaxing break
Stayed here for NYE (2nights) The hotel was very nice but due to the ball been in the lobby it was not so easy to move around or get a coffee during the day. The room was very nice with a wonderful terrace over looking the sea. The bathroom flooded when the bath emptied, both house keeping and maintained were very quick to respond and solve the problem. The dinner on NYE was very good as was the brunch on new years day. The staff were all very friendly, even the reception as my friends dress went back 3 times to be ironed and this was no problem for them. The spa was full of children using it as indoor pool. NOT GOOD Would return.
We arrived very early, before lunch, and were shown to our room, an upgrade to a junior suite, which was really special. We have stayed here several times and all the rooms are wonderful, the junior suite however was something else, a wrap around terrace, amazing panoramic views, sunbeds on the terrace, a large table and chairs for al fresco dining…wonderful. The New Year’s Eve gala was yet again spectacular. This was our third year in a row and we were yet again bowled over by the entire experience. We wondered how the team could make the night unique, and we were not disappointed. The theme of a Masked Ball was executed perfectly, there were lots of new and different types of entertainment – you certainly didn’t feel like you were at an event you had been to before. The attention to detail and the variety of the performers was incredible, from the couple on stilts, to the trapeze artists, and the band who were fantastic. As always, the food, the matching wines (which were abundant!!) the service and the atmosphere were second to none. This year, all overnight guests were invited to jazz brunch on New Year’s Day, and this was unbelievable – a buffet laden with every type of lobster, langoustine, prawn, crab, oyster, scallops etc. that you can think of. A barbeque station cooking steak, fish, chicken and pork to order. A carvery with suckling pig and sirloin of beef carved in front of you. Every possible salad, vegetable, side dish, cheese, ham etc. you can think of. A trolley full of the most amazing looking deserts. As much cava as you wanted. And that’s only half of it! What a way to start the New Year, we are so lucky. What continues to be the best thing about the Kempinski however is the staff, many of whom have been here since the hotel opened almost 20 years ago. The reception staff (thank you Kim and Philipp!) are amazing, always courteous and professional, David (who has been at Kempinski for as long as we have been coming) in the restaurant kept our glasses toped up on New Year’s Day and the Spa staff are just wonderful. I had one of the best ever facials with James last week – apparently he is a wonder with massage, so I’ve booked in! If you are reading this because you are trying to decide where to go for New Year’s Eve, look no further, it really is a wonderful experience and the best way to start a New Year. If you are looking for the best hotel to stay on the Costa del Sol, in my view, you can’t find better than Kempinski Estepona.
