A great place to base yourself in Madrid

Great location for the Bernabeu and city with lots of restaurants and bars in the area. Apartments are modern and really well equipped and on a nice quiet street with a great little cafe almost opposite for breakfast.

This is not a hotel, so please don't expect to find someone at the front desk if you need assistance. What you get is a 1- or 2-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, including a washer/dryer and refrigerator/freezer, for the price of a hotel room. The Bernabeu apartments are just 2 blocks from the Madrid Metro (line 1). You can reach almost anywhere in Madrid with the affordable metro. I highly recommend the Bernabeu apartments in Madrid.

The only issue that I had is about front desk . Nobody is there when I am arrived , and the link for check in that they send is a little bit complicated. But it is a good and convenient place to stay . Comfortable , modern and so many things to do in area .

The basic apartment was in great condition and comfortable for 4 people. The area doesn’t have much, but there’s a Mercadona and a metro stop very nearby. Unfortunately, there is ZERO communication with hotel staff. A message I sent two days before our stay, asking if there were luggage storage services, was never answered.(There isn’t.) Messages I sent during the stay about a non-functioning tv in the living room were also ignored. We finally found a very helpful housekeeper who helped us out by calling the staff to let them know about the tv. They told her they would be in to fix it, but no one ever showed up!! The front desk is supposedly staffed 10 am -7 pm on weekdays and 10 am -4 pm on weekends. There was no one at the front desk for our entire 2-day stay. If you want a quiet, clean place to stay and don’t mind not having any staff support, then this is a good choice.

Apartment is clean and modern. Probably build this year. Had an issue with the digital code upon arrival so it took 20 minutes to resolve after they had to reset the code remotely. Wifi was fast after they reset for me. Washer/dryer combo was a plus. 5 minute walk to metro. Large supermarket next door. They have darken outside metal curtains which was great. They were nice enough to allow us noon check out for our troubles and no one coming in that day.

Positives: 1. close to Estrecho metro station 2. lots of good food options nearby - including ethnic shops and supermarkets like Aldi 3. modern/nice property 4. courteous staff Negatives: 1. at least a 20 min walk to Santiago Bernabeu stadium (important if you are booking to be in close proximity to it) 2. Security concerns. The reception is only manned a few hours on weekdays. Access to the apartment block and to the apartments are by secure code (there are no swipe cards or keys), and in our experience, more than 1 apartment can be accessed by the same code. We were told >1 week ahead of our arrival the code to our apartment. We arrived, entered the code, opened the door and saw that it was already occupied!! We double-checked all communication and confirmed we used the correct code for the correct apartment. Then, called the apartment management (as reception is unmanned) and they said we should be in a different apartment instead, and to use the identical code we had previously been given and already used!! During our 2-week stay, we always worried if others would also walk into our apartment, when we were out.

Communication was great. The place is very nice and clean. We enjoyed the stay very much. It is close to many places to explore! If you have a car, it has parking which is a plus; however consider reserving and paying for it prior to your arrival. Our recommendation is transportation and walking are best in Madrid.
