A cool and funky hotel in the centre of Madrid. The room was spacious and had all you could ask for. The people at the reception are also very helpful. The breakfast was nice but a bit basic but definitely enough to get you started.

We had a wonderful stay at Abalu hotel. Great room and wonderful service. We particularly loved the friendly 24hrs staff who made us feel genuinely welcome. We loved our room - very quirky interesting style, with a jacuzzi! The room was very quiet too. The lobby and breakfast bar were very stylish. The breakfast was good: nothing special in terms of bakery but very nice orange juice and proper coffee (unlike some other hotels we've experienced in Spain). The location was good - very central and nice area. (But then everywhere seems very central in Madrid!). Overall, we highly recommend it and would go there again next time we go to Madrid.

Small Hotel, with small rooms located about 2 blocks from Gran Via Ave. Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is OK if you are a young, healthy person but it is 1-2 miles from major Madrid landmarks like Plaza Mayor, Retiro Areas. Clean and modern. Being a small hotel it is very hard to get a room before check-in time, but they will accept your luggage.

Receptionist and service was friendly, love the location, perfect ❤️ hotel room was small but it is ok for me as long as the hotel have free wifi with good connection. Will definitely recommend this to a friend or family if they decided to come to madrid, looking for a good hotel with a reasonable price.

Had the pleasure of staying at abalu when we checked in for their sister hotel (hotel life). Reception staff were so friendly and helpful. Hotel was beautifully decorated. We stayed in a twin room which again was beautiful, very clean and had all we needed. The shower was see through with a curtain for modesty so would suggest only sharing with someone you are very comfortable with. Nice touch with the free computer and printer in the hallway for guests to use. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

The room is nothing special. It's a solid three star hotel. The location is good. Farmacias restaurants and supermercados are convenient. Gran Via is a short walk. All in all its ok, but I was expecting a little something more. It could be that I just got one of the mediocre rooms,

We were there in July and we had a very nice experience . Great room and service, excellent cleaning and unbeateable location . Breakfast although there are just to options, both of them are perfect to start the morning

Unfortunately there were so many things wrong with this hotel room. If you want a room in a reputable hotel close to restaurants, shopping and attractions, this is not your hotel. The bar next door was open until after midnight and difficult to get any sleep. The only good thing is that there is a flat fee of 30 Euros from the hotels in downtown to the airport. It is 30 minutes to the airport from this hotel.

My first draft review of this hotel was far harsher than this but I wanted to be fair as possible so I waited until our final night to write this review. Pros for this hotel are the area in which it is located; with many good night spots and restaurants. For the most part the staff is helpful and accommodating. Now the cons. This is basically a converted old apartment building with some new (and cheap) furnishings to make it look "boutique". Our king-sized bed was two cheap single mattresses put together and which came apart all the time and meant a bad nights sleep. The walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbors. We booked thru Bookings.com and therefore got a decent rate and that made this hotel tolerable. Had we booked directly thru the hotel the rate would have been higher and this review more scathing. In short we would not stay here again.

Asked for a room in high floor and was given a dark basement 'suite' in an adjacent building that wasn't even a hotel. So much for custormer care. Luckily plenty of hotel alternatives nearby. Avoid...
