Nice place, huge pool, wonderful breakfast with a singing man helping and talking to customers, very nice addition to their staff. More people should be so happy and up beat like him!

I called the hotel about shuttle before coming to Madison and was told they provide the service for 24 hours everyday. My flight arrived at midnight. I called the hotel for shuttle. They did not send a shuttle. Instead, they let me take a cab to hotel and paid. I was impressed.

It's a okay hotel. Breakfast is good though. Could have been a better stay

Good place for a quick overnight stay. Restaurant was suppose to be open until 8 but there was not anyone in there. The bar was open and you could order food from there. The food was great!

I chose this hotel because I had a very early flight. The hotel's shuttle service was a taxi, and it was ready for me as requested at 4:15am.

The tub would not drain. I had to use packing tape to hold the drain handle down so I wouldn't be standing in ankle deep water when I took my shower. Also the sink wouldn't drain. The carpet felt wet, sticky and dirty. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the free breakfast was outstanding!

Comfy with necessary amenities for a quick business stayover and close to airport

I normally don't make our trip reservations, but decided to since my fiancé was drowning in overtime. I feel the pictures displaying the Howard Johnson hotel were not accurate. This is how I'll explain what I mean... so for example: I take a selfie and then use a insta beauty app to remove my bags, blemishes, try out different lighting and auto retouch, ofcourse I look flawless. It's still technically my selfie just enhanced. That's how we felt when we entered the hotel. 1.The walls as we walked to our room were scuffed and poorly unkempt. My understanding was the hotel has been remodeled and if I was the owner I'd demand a refund because it looks cheaply done. 2. The hallway and our room had a musty smell 3. As we began down the hallway after checking in, it smelled like horribly like marijuana and my fiancé said it smelled like stale beer to him. The check in desk was right around the corner too, so it's not like they couldn't notice the odor. 4. Our King size bed had sadly only 4 regular pillows, which wouldn't be so bad if they were king size pillows that were fluffy. We had to use the 2 to equal 1 normal pillow. 5. My fiancé has "Restless Leg Syndrome" and we travel frequently.... I never have issues sleeping in bed with him, I did at this hotel. Every time he moved the whole bed would move, which was horrible. I don't know if I slept so poorly due to the cheap pillows or the cheap bed. 6. Lastly was breakfast.... Where do I begin with this poorly executed idea? I wa

Super depressing! Checked at the "restaurant " twice, no one was there. Needed a lot of upgrades. Yuk!

the hotel smelled very bad from the lobby through the halls and in the room. The room was unacceptable. Even though we had prepaid, we checked out in 15 minutes and went to another hotel.

We enjoyed the breakfast and the staff was really good

The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk clerk was friendly and knowledgable. The hotel offered a LOT of amenities for the price. Only downside was housekeeping came to my room at 10 a.m. to see if I'd checked out when checkout wasn't until noon. The person seemed nice enough but it was very difficult to communicate with him because he didn't speak English. It kind of ruined the morning and I felt like I was being rushed out the the door a little.

Fun time. Nice place would stay again.

Very happy with our last minute booking. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. Check in and out was pleasant. Hotel has a large pool area and hot tub. Breakfast was one of the best spreads ive seen at a hotel. Super friendly man working breakfast! Overall ver very happy with this place and would stay again!

Everybody super nice. Super clean. Very centric. Have a nice supermarket next to it and has a small restaurant that you can dinne and the service excelent

Great hotel for the price. Good breakfast buffet, helpful staff.

Its about what you would expect for 70$ a night. The room showed a little wear, but overall it was pretty good, they had a swimming pool a bar and a decent breakfast.

The room was very clean, staff very friendly, amenities very good, and location ideal for me. A very good value and exceeded my expectations. Free breakfast was OK but it was free. Add the free trip to and from the airport and the prices were about half of a comparable hotel. I would recommend The Howard Johnson Hotel to my friends and family.

Pillows a little soft. Room otherwise was great. Breakfast attendant was especially friendly and helpful.

Very convenient for a visit to Madison but kinda grotty and very worn. Very good breakfast - much better than average motel deal.
