Well where do you start the really poor hotel , dingy room , curtains hanging off , and carpet that need clean , portable toilets out side reception in the street , probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in .
I stayed at the Campanile Berge du Rhone as I needed a cheap hotel in the centre of Lyon. The hotel has a good location near the river and not far from metro and tram stop. The rooms are quite small and mine looked out at another building around 3 metres away so quite dark. Room cleaning could be improved not helped by the 'cheap' design' e.g. limited wardrobe space. Positives - staff friendly and helpful and good shower and breakfast OK despite in my opinion poor quality baguettes.
This property is in great need of some basic repairs and updating. The employees are very friendly and do their best with what is obviously the ownership lack of care Although the staff and reception area is somewhat inviting, the hallways, room furnishings and carpet need replaced.
I slept in this hotel for 2 nights for business travel purposes. Although I like to stay in hotels, I wasn't unhappy it was only two nights in here. My standards are certainly not high, but I expected more for a 223€ stay. I slept in a room on the 2nd floor, facing the street side (just above the entrance of the hotel). On the opposite side of the hotel there's a very sinister shisha bar, attracting North Africans who like to remain outside and make it loud. No problem if the room would have proper sound insulation, but it hasn't. I fall asleep very easily, but this wasn't the case during these 2 nights. All in all, the room is very badly insulated. You'll hear exactly when the people in the room next to you arrive, and what they have to say. Every toilet flush in any room in my surrounding sounded like the Niagara falls passing by. And from time to time I had noise from the "technical room" which was just next to my room. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and upon my arrival, there were still 2 long hairs in the bathtub and one on the bed. No big deal, but it didn't add up to the whole experience. Breakfast is OK with a normal combination of sweet and "salty" offers. Location was good in relation with a connection to and outside Lyon. You cross the bridge near the hotel and you're in the old part of Lyon. And the metro station is a one minute walk away. The direct surrounding of the hotel however is not a nice place. All in all it was a basic stay in a basic room wih a few minor points and poor sleep conditions. If anything justifies most of the price, it would be its location.
The hotel was chosen / arranged by others as part of a Tour package we were on. The continental style breakfast was adequate. The hotel is a budget hotel, it is adequate, a good size room, clean and the beds are comfortable, We could open a window for fresh ait in lieu of using air conditioning
Moderate hotel with good location Close to the city center Not very clean I think they allow animals in, and it wad smelling very bad inside A little overpriced with respect to the quality they are offering May be due to the location
Near metro, metro exit is not a polite place to come out onto street. Very short walk to hotel. Hotel is a short distance down a narrow street, (alley). Staff friendly, room looked out onto rooftop with garbage on it. Room was clean.
We stayed at this hotel in January 27 to 1 feb the room was okei and the lobby was nice but our first night the time was around 00:30 som but knocked on the door and open and said Hallo the time was 00:30 I went up and went to the door but there was no one there i went down to the loddy to tell the night person in the loddy what happened but then I found out that he was the one who opened the door and then I was angry and asked him if he would come to a hotel that I was working on and mind doing this to him but he was not understandin what i was saying and why i was so angry he did not apologize just saying there was a list of rooms he was going to go to see the room that night. I have worked for a long time on large 4-star hotels where the night watchman has to go over the room but he looks at the reservation system before going to the room to check out the room.so when i complained to the reception staff that morning the only thing that was said she would discuss it with him there was nothing done for us instead of this not offering discounted or refund. we ask them to order a big taxi for us for 4 person and 4 big bags but the lobby guy didn't understand what I was asking for then in the morning the taxi came and i was to small the when we came down the loddy at first day staff was just standing in the front of the hotel smoking really it must be some other place they can smoke
I stayed one night for business and it was perfect. The bed was very comfortable, the room had plenty of space, everything was clean, the wifi was very good. The breakfast was also very good. I would go back to this hotel anytime. Since I was there for business, I did not get to take advantage of the great location near the Rhone river.
Stayed here before a couple of years back, it was good then and is still very good. The hotel has a very good location, the rooms are functional but clean with all the basics. Our experience of the staff was very good, they were friendly, helpful and pointed us toward a couple of good restaurants. Breakfast is reasonably priced and saw us through the day to dinner. We stayed three nights and have no complaints. Its a great deal for the price.
