This was very close to LU and a good stay for the price. Hotel was remodeled but you could still tell it was an older facility. Rooms were large, clean and decorated nicely. Good price for an overnight stay.

Waiting time for check in too long. It took us 2 hours for waiting the room.
We thought the hotel was fine in this time when the country is going through this pandemic.
Room seemed a little outdated and could use some sprucing up. It was too small for being labeled "handicap accessible".
Property was great and clean with all covid procedures being followed.
Older hotel with renovations. Lobby furniture should be replaced (worn out leather sofas). Restaurant looked nice with a mix of modern rustic decor, except that it was closed until December for "renovations." Did not look like renovations had been started. Would have been nice to use the indoor firepit which I thought was a cozy touch to the decor. Only one floor had an ice machine which was located just outside of the lobby elevators. Almost slipped on the wet marble floor. Staff was friendly and helpful but only one person checking people in even though there were two more staff at the front desk. Even with renovations, it still has an old hotel feel. More live greenery (plants, fresh flowers, etc) would put a nice touch. Scuffs on the wall, cable wires hanging along the hall ceiling, hole in the hallway ceiling that didn't have its cover. The room was very large and spacious, which was nice. Not enough outlets in the room. Pillows were too small and mushy and only two per bed. No flat sheets on the beds?? I've never stayed in a hotel that didn't have flat sheets. I had to ask for them at the front desk which were brought to our room in a timely manner. I hope the duvet covers on the comforters are washed with each booking.
We have always stayed at the Kirkley during family visits to Lynchburg. Always satsified. But this time the floors were not clean!!! We found clippings of toe nails dried up contacts on the floor and I personally got a long splinter in my foot! Reported to staff but floor remained durty the next night.

Check in desk worker barely acknowledged us. There were no menus available to take to the room for the restaurant. The front desk worker told me not to get the chicken bc the food is dry. Our room keys didn’t work. Stayed one night in original room before the AC broke. Got moved to another room which was fine and the supervisor was a nice guy. After moving to Next room we called the restaurant multiple Times to place order and we could never get anyone on the phone. We went to bed hungry, the restaurant was the main reason we stayed there. Never got to use it. At checkout we were not comped anything for the inconvenience of the busted AC unit. Overall disappointed, won’t stay there anymore.
The breakfast was exceptional! Very much appreciated!

Thank you so much for the feedback. The hotel is indeed in the process of being renovated! Sadly the pandemic has delayed some of the renovations short term, but others are moving right along (hence the wiring work you saw in the hallways). I will definitely pass along the issue with the lack of flat sheets to our housekeeping team, but I do assure you that we wash our duvet covers between every guest.
