Everything about this beautiful house is breathtaking from the moment you step inside. The decor, quality, cleanliness is second to none. Very spacious but incredibly cosy. The pool, spa bath, Jacuzzi and Sauna were as beautiful and inviting as the rest of the property. Bath robes and towels provided separately. The bar area was a nice place to retire to for the evening with the family. The shepherds hut is totally self contained and a nice place to retreat for some quiet time with a book. Highly recommended

Durns was the perfect place to celebrate my 40th Birthday with my family. Our party ranged from 5yrs - 72yrs with a dog, and everyone had the most incredible week. From start to finish, the experience was amazing and we'dlove to return again one day. The house was stunning, decorated with care and attention. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you'd need to cater for a large group. The outdoor space gave our group of 10 plenty of space to chill out and the pool, games room, sauna and jacuzzi were fantastic - we barely left the property all week! Hannah was great to communicate with before, during and after our stay, and she even dropped round some laundry tablets at really short notice on her way to work. We made some wonderful memories as a family and the beautiful house and gardens at Durns was a big part of this.

Durns Family Get Together

Excellent property that met our needs completely. It was great having the heated pool, hot tub, sauna and games room which we used a lot. We also ordered the pizza kits which turned out to be great fun making and tasted delicious. Would recommend ordering this. Good location to access the New Forest, Lymington and the surrounding area. Would love to stay here again!

Beautifully renovated.

A traditional farmhouse renovated to a high standard which retains lots of original features such as stone floors, low beams, leaded light windows and fireplaces. After some teething problems, that were addressed the next morning by Hannah, the house warmed up and we could relax and enjoy the facilities. The new sauna by the outdoor pool area enabled us to enjoy the pool in February! The gowns, slippers and towels in the pool room were much appreciated along with the pool table and darts to offer entertainment to all ages.In the main house, the bedrooms were very comfortable with luxurious bedding and high end ensuite bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with all the equipment we needed, a large range, fridge freezer and well-stocked pantry. The boot room provided space to hang our coats, place our many shoes, dog paraphernalia along with the many pairs of hunter wellies on offer to borrow. The grounds were very well kept and the shepherds hut provided another place for 2 adults to stay although there was little outdoor lighting to enable an easy journey from the main house at the end of the day. Surrounded by fields, you are not over-looked in any way and being close to the main road, we could access Lymington and local shops easily in the car.Overall, we had a lovely weekend in this delightful and comfortable house. The owners have considered the needs of their guests well and all the little touches really added to the specialness of our stay.

Superb venue in a superb location

Six of us stayed here for a weekend, each of us were immensely impressed. Expectations were already high on account of the professional contacts with the property managers beforehand and the quality of the digital literature they provided to prepare us for our stay. But the premises more than met these expectations. The place has real charm and character yet is filled with state-of-the-art gadgetry and impressive inspiration that was user-friendly. We were never confused by anything that was intimidating to use. It all just worked easily and brilliantly. And we all commented on how comfortable the furnishings were, especially the beds. As for the location, obviously it is in the New Forest so you are surrounded by excellent walking areas, country pubs and restaurants (we went up to the Pig in Brockenhurst on Saturday and then had a great Sunday lunch in the Red Lion in Boldre). There is a petrol station with an Asda that is a minute's drive away and a Waitrose a bit further away towards Lymington. The hosts were very generous with the basic amenities provided (milk, bread, eggs, lots more) so I would advise checking in and seeing what's required before quickly popping out and doing a shop. It is more expensive than similar properties but worth it. The owners have really devised something special and your guests will definitely be impressed.
