The house was very well equipped, enough kitchen supplies, firepit, kayaks, ping pong. We enjoyed the quiet location on the lake. The only negative is that the house needs a deep clean. The windows are filthy and there are webs on the ceiling. But the essentials were clean.

It is indeed idyllic. Mostly very quiet, beautiful view from the deck. Well stocked kitchen. A bonus was the hummingbird feeder, which we filled and got rewarded with 3 regular visitors! A truly lovely spot!

Great stay!
This was a great rental for our family. Lots to do nearby but the lake is where we spent most of our time - paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing. The swimming from the dock was not ideal but when we hopped on our paddle board it was very nice to swim in the central part the lake. Creemees at the sugar house were very good; also really enjoyed buttermilk falls and okemo.

Family fun
We had a great time. The house is very comfortable, but dated. We had a wonderful time in the water. However, the area directly in front of the property was so filled with leaves and muck, it was hard to enjoy it, until you were further out in the water. For this reason, i would not recommend it for young children.

Check in was pretty simple. Cottage was nice. Only issues were was that it wasn’t cleaned prior to our arrival due to cleaning lady having an emergency. We found out after the fact and owner refunded the cleaning fee. Other issue was there was supposed to be a dinghy boat which wasn’t there when I arrived. Fishing was good in this lake and the canoes and kayaks were fun. Don’t plan to swim from the property as it’s shallow in the general area and the bottom is mushy. Overall it was a great place

Perfect spot for a family vacation
This was our third trip back to this house, so needless to say we enjoy staying set the property. It has enough rooms and beds to fit us and our extended family comfortably, has everything we want and need (multiple bathrooms, a fil kitchen,) plus there's the bonus of a working fireplace. The location can't be beat. Right on the lake, about 7 minutes from the Jackson Gore base area, and Erin walking distance to the dust house. We love it.

Awful Host
I was shocked by my experience during this stay. I am a frequent VRBO guest and I have never had a host treat me so terribly. Do not become a VRBO host if you are not going to be available by phone, through messaging or when VRBO tries to contact you multiple times. We messaged, called and had VRBO call 7 times to address a lock issue. I was genuinely worried that something terrible had happened to the host because she was so unresponsive for days. She had wonderful reviews prior to my stay so I was really quite worried. We had to leave the house unlocked during our stay as we could not remedy the lock situation. When we did get a hold of her three days into our 4 night stay, we told her we were unable to open the lock box. She stated that she knew there were problems with the lock box for over a month but did not do anything to fix the issue. She asked us to try to fix the lock by replacing the batteries. We tried but were unsuccessful. It appeared it needed a locksmith. She became frustrated at us because we could not fix the lock. Due to lack of communication and the lock issue, VRBO suggested we ask for money back for a portion of our stay. When VRBO asked for a credit on our behalf, the owner made up lies about us leaving a wet mattress, called us idiots, and hung up on VRBO. She did not know I was also on the phone at the time. It was an awful experience.

The house was very comfortable for 6 adults and 4 children. The Ludlow area was a lot of fun. My grandchildren enjoyed the lake swimming and boating. The owner was very helpful with any questions we had. Also would be a great area for winter activities with Okemo being so close. If we ever get back to skiing we would definitely rent again.

Pond Review
Ursula's cabin is very clean and all the amenities are exactly as described. Drinkable well water!! She was very thorough with instructions in the guest book which was much appreciated. We enjoyed (too much!) the peanut brittle from the Sugar Shack and eating at The Loft on the road up to Okemo. Sadly, two aspects of the property were disappointing for us. The pictures online do not accurately show the shallow depth of this corner of the pond or the amount of weeds, mud and algae blooms. In order to swim you have to paddle about 100 yards to the center of the pond. You then have to be fit enough to get yourself off of and back onto a kayak -- she has a two-person plastic 'sit-atop' one that you can use for this purpose. I was able to manage it, but not gracefully! I would recommend paddle boards for guests in addition to kayaks. Most other properties on the pond have access to the water via small sandy beaches or docks. I would add that the water was so murky that I wasn't comfortable with my dog swimming off the shore either. The second aspect which cannot be helped is how close the cabin is to the very busy Route 100 (40mph). Ursula's yard is surprisingly insulated from sound and private from nearby neighbors with a fence, but walking on Rt 100 with a dog or children would be risky in my opinion. There are many wonderful qualities about Ursula's cabin, but I feel that transparency is important -- serious swimmers and walkers may want to reconsider this rental.

Peaceful time
It was very easy to get in and out of the home. Its very big inside, withs lots of places to sleep. The kitchen was easy to work in. Enjoyed playing some games that were left there. Our 2nd week was tuff because of the flooding in Central Vt ,we were not able to get to our family. Bridges were washed out. Hardly any rain here. Many thanks to the owner for answering my questions. Very easy person to talk to.
