I liked the retro modern feel, and the movie night at the pool.

Lovely hotel. My only complaint was the in-room PTAC was rather noisy and clanged throughout the night.

Very funky, 70s chic. Makes you notice that you are in Hollywood with film screenings by the pool and a theater. Food is good at the restaurant and room service. Beautiful!

getting to different parts of building is not friendly.

Room was very clean. Hotel is pretty. Staff was friendly. The bed was beyond uncomfortable. In addition, every move in the bed made creaking sounds. Mattress seemed to be super old. Pillows weren't comfortable either. Walls are thin, including exterior walls.

Nice hotel with good restaurant and interesting things going on

The gentleman who was at the front sesk did not acknowledge that we were there for ~15minutes! ...i understand he was helping someone who was having difficulty with her card but at the same time you should acknowledge when someone walks into your establishment to spend their money and trust you with their time. Should have read: "Welcome to The Garland! Someone will be with you shortly, please make yourself comfortable by the fireplace." He DID try to make up for it with a parking pass but this needs to be corrected; therefore the attention to the matter. He did not apologize and was saucy when questioned about the wait until the lady having issues apologized! Also your elevators smell.

Great location, enjoyed the free trolley to Universal. Room was very small and had a refrigerator but no microwave so couldn’t heat up our food. They charge extra for parking which we didn’t know in advance. It is a neat hotel and staff is very helpful

clean, nice people and convenient for business. Only complaint is parking fee seems high, because the old "Beverly Garland" hotel gave benefits, like free parking, to those who stayed at the hotel often.

Great Pool with 2 hot tubs and a bar poolside. Prefect Cali vibe

Beautiful time Great food nice exercising relaxing time

Most amazing hotel stay! Received an upgraded room

We chose this hotel based on great reviews and proximity to Universal Studios. Pros: The hotel is charming and the public areas are nice, all of the staff are friendly and helpful, free convenient shuttle to Universal Studios. However, cons far outweigh the pros.. The rooms are old and musty and quite subpar. Our room's walls were paper thin. We heard people talking down the halls, doors slamming, the elevator, the ice machine. This noise went on all night. The bathroom was recently remodeled, but the room itself dark and dank. Our room had an old A/C unit that was not functioning properly, and sounded like a jet engine whenever it came on and also emitted worrisome smoke smells. Our $90 breakfast buffet for 2 adults, 2 kids, was also not worth the steep price as it was very much on par with the free breakfasts given at other places. Parking spaces were very tight and several of the spaces were fenced up to serve as storage for some of the hotel's junk, also a rug was being left to dry outside as well. It made us feel like we were at a motel, not a 4 star hotel as it was rated by orbitz.

very friendly staff and great accommodation. Feel that the parking fees are a bit stiff as well as the on prem restaurants are rather pricey and little variety... Other than that, it is a great location and the staff is amazon like customer friendly

Great common areas to relax and hang out. We only stayed one night and didn't get to take advantage of all the activities and services offered. Only drawback is $25/night for uncovered self parking.

My family and I stayed 5 days at this hotel and enjoyed every bit of it. Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to check into our room an hour early. The room was clean and spacious for my family of 4. The room was straightened up and stocked daily. The grounds were constantly being cleaned and maintained. The pool area was great and there were always fresh towels being put out. My family and I enjoyed the Family Evening by the pool swimming and watching a movie on the projection screen! The bar area was nice and there was a decent selection of craft beers and mixed drinks. My 2 young girls and I took advantage of the local early morning walk/tour to view the Brady Bunch house and the LA River. There were 3 staff members that joined and led the group. They were very kind and took time to speak to all of us. The trolley from the hotel to Universal Studios ran every hour and was only a 5 min ride. The hotel is within walking distance to drug stores, Starbucks and local restaurants. The area was safe and clean. I did witness the staff having to escort homeless people off the property but it was done in a gentle manner. We dined at the restaurant on the property and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Reservations were easy to make and we were seated immediately. I can't say enough nice things about this renovated, clean, family/kid friendly hotel! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We loved the Hollywood vibe and decor of this hotel. And the location could not be better! Wish we had more time to spend enjoying the hotel and the events/amenities they offered. We will definitely stay here for any future trips to LA.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We apologize the rain made it difficult to get building to building. The hotel design is California mission style which is wonderful when the sun is out. Unfortunately, this week you did not get to enjoy that feature of the hotel. We hope to have you rejoin us so you can fully appreciate the property and its amenities.

Thank you for joining us. We hope you enjoyed your time with us. We apologize that were not not informed of our parking fees. Like most urban hotels, we do charge for parking; however, we are delighted to offer both self and valet options at a lower average rate than most hotels in our immediate vicinity. We hope this will not deter you from rejoining us in the future!
