The Strand Palace Hotel

While a great location, our room was tiny and stuffy. No air conditioning. Scaffolding up outside window facing other rooms. Did not seem safe to leave window open because of scaffolding. Result was very muggy room. They provided small fan but that was only of marginal help. Bed mattress was hard and not too comfortable.

Helpful staff clean rooms and perfectly located! I would definitely stay there again!

I have been staying at this hotel for about 27 years and it just keeps improving. Even saw improvement from last stay in Nov of 2016.

There was a fire in the basement of the hotel on Easter Sunday night just after 11pm. We were out of the hotel for about three hours. There was no effort to give to us as a price break or some perk because of the fire. I must say that the staff did the best they could with the entire population of the hotel on the street. The Savoy Hotel across the street welcomed us out of the cold. Once we got inside it rained as well.

Nice hotel. Very clean. Easy distance walking to shopping.

Great location, friendly staff and concierge. Rooms were small, but we didn't spend time in them anyway.

Staff very friendly, room clean but not well appointed.

Took advantage of the theatre district and the Trafalgar Square area, Whitehall, the Clarence Pub

A hotel at the best possible location, best people but the sad part is the old property which was not designed to be a hotel but converted or someone who designed it good luck is all i can say.

The Strand Palace is an excellent choice for those who enjoy the West End, Covent Garden, Soho, and surrounding areas. It is convenient to theatre, music, restaurants, museums, and transportation. Staff is very pleasant. I could walk to the London Transport Museum, The National Gallery, and the National Portrait Gallery. I walked to and from both theatres that I attended and local restaurants.

VERY POLITE AND HELPFUL STAFF. GREAT LOCATION. FOOD WAS GREAT.

This is a great "cheap" hotel if you are not going to be spending a lot of time IN the hotel. My sister and I traveled to London and didn't want to spend a lot of money in lodging, this hotel was reasonably priced and the reviews were mostly positive. They have what the call the Cozy single, I may be making the name up, we upgraded to the next class up, which was perfectly size but very small, so I can't imagine just how small the cozy single was. Our single rooms had a small bed, which I'd never seen in hotels before, but this is an old hotel. The bathrooms are perfectly fine; my sisters was large and had a big tub. There's not a lot of storage space, which was perfectly fine, and the rooms were clean and the cleaning crew was effective. The bed was one of the best hotel beds I can remember. I sleep on slightly hard mattresses and I find that when I stay in nice hotels the mattresses are plush and extra soft and I have a terrible time sleeping. The mattress at the Strand was ideal. It was also surprisingly quiet in the rooms considering how big a hotel this is. The location is centrally located and in a great area.

The plumbing was capricious, the room was very small and not very clean; One reading light for a double bed shoved up against the wall.. Had I known, I would have upgraded for decent pillows, towels (face cloths, please) and a shower that runs consistently.

I needed a hotel close to my office in Covent Garden for four nights and this was the best deal for the week. The hotel staff were friendly and although the room was small, it was just as advertised, and the bed was comfortable, room was clean and shower was ideal.

Good rooms and staff, but much of the property is in need of a facelift.

It was very nice; was close to site seeing and great restaurants

Have stayed here several times. Staff is friendly and accomodating, rooms are clean. Can't beat the value for this prime location. Covent Garden behind the hotel, in the middle of many theatres, pubs, restaurants, shopping, all walking distance. Trafalgar Square and Charring Cross station, a few blocks down. Some road noise at nite, otherwise a great experience again. I will be back to stay at the Strand.

Very convenient location. Easy to get around. Lots of activities around, especially theatres.

Hotel has great location in the heart of London, but nearest tube station is a 10 minute walk. It's a little dated but clean. Staff very efficient. I would consider staying there again,

Small cozy room but I just needed it to sleep. Right in the middle of the city walking distance to Big Ben, Museum of London etc.
