We loved the central location of The Strand Palace. The room (Deluxe Reburbished King) was aesthetically ordinary, compared to some of the other places we stayed (Malmaison Oxford and The Standard London), but we found the bathroom design and technology to be superior and functional. We faced the streets, so it could get a bit loud (some street construction in the early am one day and pumped-up attendees for the many musicals in the area performing their favorite sets after the shows let out in the evenings). On the weekend mornings, this large facility could use a few more elevators, but the place grew on me the longer I stayed.
Great location walking distance to lots of great activities.
I would love to give a full 5 to the Strand, but 2 things. 1) my first room had water damage and a leak that woke me up in the middle of the night. 2) When a contacted the front desk, they sent someone to take a look and suggested I would have to change rooms. This required my repacking, and when I inquired if I would be receiving a little upgrade for the inconvenience, the initial response was "No". I began packing and it really landed what a pain this was to have to move. I circled back and asked to speak to the manager, and after a consultation with the manager, I was THEN granted an upgrade. I feel like it should be standard policy of the hotel that in this situation, or ANY where a guest is inconvenienced, SOMETHING should be offered to say "we value your patronage. Other than that, it was a great place to stay for it's location, and the staff, overall, l was warm and welcoming.
Great location, great breakfast, but single room is TINY! Be prepared, but don't let that stop you. Worth the trade-off for the location.
I will be back soon. Great and very nice staff, great breakfast too
Spotless & up-to-date; "cosy" room was WAY too tight.
We booked this trip 6 months prior to our stay traveling from Canada and prepaid for the two nights. Our flights were cancelled due to Covid-19 outbreak as this was a vacation or non essential travel, we reached out to the hotel to cancel our reservation and get a refund. We were told very sorry its too bad you cannot stay with us but it is not our fault and there will be no refund or credit given. We realize these are tough circumstances for the hotel but this situation is very tough on us as well especially financially. We cannot recommend any hotel that would take advantage of people during a crisis.
Hotel de gran nivel y muy buena atencion. El prsonal.de recepcion hablaba ingles y español lo cual facilita las cosas.
