No actual window in the room. No AC, but didn’t need one. The room was comfortable and clean. Basic space but location was great for the price.

This was out first every international trip. The hotel and its staff was amazing. Ema helped us check in and advised us that our room didn't have AC but was able to get us into a room with AC in 2 days. Both rooms were wonderful. The upgraded rooms are comfortable and stylish. The layout of our particular room, with the TV, was a little weird but insignificant compared to how much we enjoyed our time there. Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The room service was amazing. The location was perfect! Within walking distance to basically everything, right in front of the Covent Gardens. We will always come back to this hotel!

The hotel is very nice and at first glance our room was wonderful, however we had some issues I would not expect from such a nice hotel. The biggest was that the shower didn't drain, taking a shower in standing water in a hotel bathtub felt pretty gross. When we arrived we opened the windows and plugged in the rotating fan. This was great to cool the room down until we couldn't get one of the windows to close in the bathroom, making my early shower very chilly. Lastly the shower curtain was too small and water made the nice tile floor very slippery. In summary I expected an issue free experience from a hotel of this level and did not receive it.

We had two rooms both on the 7th floor which were the newly remodeled. Our first room was so tiny it felt like we were sleeping in a closet and the air conditioning leaked and soaked the carpet so we were given another room the following night. Our second room consistently smelled like food which was horrible. You would wake up to the smell or breakfast and at night it smelled like the food vents from McDonald’s.. absolutely horrible. Would not recommend ...

The hotel staff was attentive, the rooms were large and had everything we needed.

Great location at a reasonable price. Was there for 3 nights and did not dine in-house. My single room was very comfortable. No air conditioning so I made use of the portable fan which was fine.

I have been staying at this hotel for 40 years and it just keeps getting better every time. You cannot beat the location for convenience to everything. I'm old now and can't run around London like I could 50 years ago so location is everything. Everyone at hotel is so helpful. My last review I said that free ice would be nice and now they have free ice! Discovered the Sacred this time around. Best cappuccino. Have already made my reservations for December 2018.

excellent location, friendly staff stay was pleasant

There was hair on my clean bedsheet and on the bathroom floor . Mattress was softer on one side I feel like I will fall off . Concierge staff was grumpy at times during questions .

Lovely hotel, staff very helpful cafe. Had very good food and inexpensive. Highly recommend it.

Best thing about this hotel is the location. Minutes from Covent Garden and loads of restaurants, shops and theatres. Hotel is average but the location can’t be beat. Many international travelers staying there.

ON a spur of the moment we decided to try and see the musical the Lion King. The hotel is in the perfect location for walking to the theater and going out for dinner and shopping. Lovely historic building -while still having all of the electrical outlets available for todays traveler...

Room met our needs - was clean and large but felt kinda old and in need of renovation. Breakfast was okay but after second day it became obvious you were placed in lesser rooms for lesser buffet based on what you paid for room - my sister called it the cattle car room. The worse part of that was they walked you pass the other buffets first before you got to the back room/buffet that had much more limited choices. The concierge was great- he gave us great tips for the bus system and was very friendly and knowledgeable. Front desk staff was snippy and borderline rude, maybe it was just a bad day for her but we did not think she was friendly at all.

Very very small rooms, the hotel right now is under constructions so a lot of noise and dust Ask the front desk to see your room before you going up with the luggage

staff are very kind and helpful. nice foods, it is very good location of hotel for traveler

My stay at the Strand Palace could not have been better. When I arrived early in the morning after an overnight international flight, the staff did their best to check me into a room early. When one wasn't available, they arranged bag handling and storage for me for a few hours, enabling me to start my sightseeing early. When I returned to the hotel that evening, check in was fast and efficient. Several hours after check in, a complimentary bottle of wine and two wine glasses were delivered to my room. The facilities were modern, clean, and comfortable. The hotel staff were incredibly responsive to cleaning my room and, when I needed to check out, handled the process quickly to send me on my way.

We were looking for a reasonable place near the theaters (the reason we went back to London) and this was it. Being on the Strand meant we could walk to most theaters and taxis were everywhere. It turned out that the room, while small, had a great bath area and was very clean and up to date. Being on the first floor meant never having to wait for the elevators and we had no issues with noise. The coffee shop and attached restaurant were just what we needed in the morning and evening, even open late after the shows. To be honest we enjoyed going across the street to the Savoy for drinks, but convenience was part of the charm of the place.

I was able to come to London a day in advance of a work trip and wanted to shop, sight see, and attend the theater. I wanted a centrally located hotel for a relatively inexpensive rate and the strand palace’s single room was perfect to fit the bill.

Rooms are simple a bit dated but that is often the case in some of the older London hotels. The positive is the great location. My room was small but comfy, the bathroom larger than expected. I can say that it is good value for money. Staff were super kind, they need some more staff though as checkout time has long lines. Special kudos to the doorman, I do love this attention to detail of formal doorman at the hotel. Easy walk to any of the many sites in the area and theater areas.

Bathroom door opens inwards, blocks sink. Front Desk staff often seems befuddled. returning guest, 20 pound early check-in fee is an insult. They do not honor things from 3rd party bookings.
