The Berkeley is a wonderful hotel in London. It has everything that you need in a hotel. Good food, amazing service, a indoor/outdoor pool, and amazing rooms. The second we walk into the hotel everybody says “Hello ms. ____ and mr. ____” because we go there all the time. They immediately send up coffee and hot chocolate for us. The actual building is built in a classic London style, it’s very big, chic and fancy. It is kid friendly, if your kids are well behaved and experienced travelers. From the hotel, it is very easy to get around London. Nothing popular is too far away. The rooms are very big and clean to. The food is wonderful. The breakfast never gets old or disappoints me. The high tea there is very fancy, and definitely not meant for kids. You should wear nice attire. But besides that the high tea is delicious. All in all this hotel is a wonderful London hotel.
We stayed for 2 nights at The Berkeley. The service and care throughout our stay was second to none. Staff new our names, nothing was too much bother, and the special touches added by the hotel - champagne, fruit and chocolate, rose petal heart left by the Housekeeping staff on our first night - all made a special stay very special indeed. We could not fault the hotel in any way and will definitely return as soon as possible.
A perfect stay in a very friendly atmosphere. The Blue Bar is very convenient for a drink and the staff is escellent. My room was next to the lift on this ocassion and it was a bit noisy, however, nothing that will make me change from coming back soon.
This is our second time staying at the Berkeley in London. We love the location and the interior decoration of this place. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. Relaxing in the Blue Bar or having breakfast at the breakfast room has always been a great way to unwind at the end of your day or to jump start your day! The room is clean and comfortable. It is always the hotel I think of whenever we visit London.
The hotel is beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. However, I don't think you get very good value for your money. The luxury here will make you feel like you are more than paying through the nose. The hotel seems to cater to those who never look at a bill and don't care how much is on there as they have so much money that it doesn't matter to them. Not everyone is at that level of wealth and while I am willing to splurge on a hotel stay, I certainly don't want it to feel like it is taking my life savings and that I am out of place!
The rooms are APALLING. The air conditioning does not work, and the pillows and mattresses are hard and unforgiving. Also the windows in the room don’t open. Truly the worst value for money of any premium hotel I have ever visited. Which is shame because the staff are nice, the SPA is great and the location is ideal.
Best hotel in London by far! You will not be disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was stunning. The location is perfect for a bit of shopping and exploring Hyde Park. We will definitely be coming again!!
After years of patronage and thousands of pounds spent here, we were shown to a room overlooking an in progress buliding site, and not the church view room we thought we had booked at American Express Concierge Service. After some negotiating in the busy lobby, we were given a room overlooking the church which would have suited a small male with a carry on bag not a well travelled couple with baggage. I do not like confrontations with hotel staff so we sort of grimmed and bore it for the 3 nights vowing to look at other hotels for future trips to our old neighbourhood.
I really enjoyed our short stay at the Berkeley because of the outstanding service being constantly delivered to make guests feel special. The interior of the lobby, Blue Bar and restaurant is stunning! We had afternoon tea with amazing pret-a-portea high fashion bakes and buiscuits, tasty dinner and yummy breakfast. This was a fantastic 5*** experience!
Fantastic location and the price is no surprise therefore. We stayed in a renovated section and while our room was not very large, it was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice, but I wish that the tub was replaced by a stall shower, I hate tall tubs, they are accident-prone. Lots of space in closets. Excellent concierge, very nice staff. Expensive in-house dining and hugely disappointed by the lack of a traditional English tea without sandwiches and scones!!! It's been replaced by some designer pastries that the hostess could not (or would not) explain to me.
